There's just too much wrestling
paintedbynumbers replied to byrning_hammer's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
As a kid/teen I wish we had the streaming services we have today to watch anything/everything we want when we want. I had to rely on blockbuster video for most of my ppv needs up until 1996ish when people had the ppv boxes. As a 19 yr old I shilled out a huge amount of $$ to get tapes of the WCW shows I never got to see as a kid. Sadly they were the Turner versions and clipped to shreds. So in a sense it's great that we have so much available to us as opposed to where we were even 10 yrs ago. -

Highspots is a keeper, IWTV formerly powerbombtv is incredible too. Lots of live streams and an incredible on demand library. Also WWN with all of the Evolve, FIP, and DragongateUSA shows is worth $10. Then of course you have Honor Club which if you figure $10 a month isn't bad for 2-3 live shows and a half decent on demand section. The only issue is that they clearly don't give a shit about adding older shows and when you log on it still shows a video screen for Kenny Omega. CZW studios is there but most if not all of those shows are on Highspots and/or IWTV. Progress and Rev Pro have pay channels as well if you want to see some British Wrestling. You can also get some of each promotion on Highspots. IWTV has a $100 for the year deal which saves you $20. It's worth it. Lots of hidden gems on there. You get most of Chikara's library now too. Or you can pay and get the Chikaratopia app. Getting the live and on demand Chikara shows. Unless you are a die hard I wouldn't do this as you can get the majority of it on IWTV. I hope this helps. -

If you aren't following him on twitter I'd recommend it. He's uploaded some classic GWF matches lately including one of his father vs Patriot. I don't remember ever seeing the match prior. Also I have to ask is your screen name based off of the song by Glassjaw? -

I mentioned Nattie and Charlotte both being stale, Nattie's dad is Jim the anvil, Neither Ric nor Jim changed their character. Nattie and Charlotte are in the same vein. -

I get she has the Flair lineage but I don't see anything in Charlotte that would warrant her being a long term champion. Like you mentioned Becky has evolved, Asuka has evolved, as has Bayley where as Charlotte and even Sasha (whom I like) have remained stagnant. Natalia is another one who has really never changed/updated her character. To be fair their fathers never really changed/updated either. Jim was the same for his whole run. -

If you are in Texas and/or were a big fan of GWF on ESPN, they are having a GWF reunion in May. Confirmed by Chaz Taylor -
they only added 10 though ? was hoping we would finish the year. It ends before the awesome Demolition tag title switch too

I think most Impact fans would have to be pretty hardcore wrestling fans so I assume the majority of them are aware of what is happening as opposed to your casual WWE fanbase who may not check websites/boards to see what is happening. If they want to keep her champion and on tv they should find a way to turn her heel very quickly. -

I liked this post a lot actually. It made me think of some of the boneheaded things TNA/Impact has done in the past. They really have made a ton of horrible decisions and putting the belt on Tessa after all of this has to rank up there -

Yeah, she's trash. Lets get one thing straight, Brit may have refused to work certain workers, she may have badmouthed one promoter to another, but she hasn't to my knowledge acted with racism, nor has she spat in another workers face. Tessa as a worker is 100x better than Baker but as a person she is trash. When I was asked to help book women matches I could have used Baker and/or Tessa, I opted not to. Not based on $$ but on attitude. One of the females we booked knew Tessa from WOW on AXS and said that we would be better off not bringing her in. I trusted her opinion. I was at a show Saturday where someone made a pretty interesting comment. "nobody from the area speaks highly of Brit Baker" this was a quote from a worker at Brit's home promotion. Said worker made this comment to Brian Pillman Jr and Jonathan Gresham. Now that I as "somebody in the business" have commented on Tessa, what are your comments? -

Tessa probably could have made thins a tad better by admitting her mistake and apologizing. Instead she made things 10X worse. WWE put the lock on their door and I'd imagine AEW will too Tully or not. -
I believe it used to air on WGN also. Dylan Bostic worked there, Austin Aries did commentary on a few of the premiere episodes, Eli Drake, Scorpio Sky, and a few others were there. The matches weren't bad but the non-name talent didn't really keep my attention.

so Fiend beats up on Daniel and Kane makes the save for his former partner and gets the title match. Makes a bit of sense since DB likely won't be going to Saudi Arabia anytime soon -

Magnum definitely, but wasn't Tully "born again minister" when Tessa was born/growning up? -

yeah but the "I was young and dumb" card shouldn't work for her. Look at her family lineage for god's sake. She was raised into wrestling and her of anyone should know how to act with fellow workers. That is the last excuse she should ever use. Her post isn't even an apology it's a denial. She doesn't think she's done anything wrong. -

She's never worked heel before maybe she can pull it off. I don't see them bringing in Tessa at this point. I like Riho but don't know how crazy her schedule is. The champion doesn't need to be there every week but should defend it at least once a month and be at 2 of the 4 monthly shows to build angles. There just isn't really anyone in AEW I could see as being the face of the women's division longterm at this point. -

agreed, If they were going to do that they might as well edit the logos and music on older shows so that they could air all the Prime Time/Superstars/Challenges etc. That would be far more profitable to WWE than anything Benoit related at this point. -

I was unaware of any Chuck Taylor hate. I've always considered him the Shawn to Trent's Marty to be honest. Chucky's Chikara, PWG, and IWA-MS work was always good to great. This weeks show was fun. Looking forward to the Jericho Cruise
