Oilers played like shit tonight against Chicago and I feel good about where my twitter feed is at because the 200 Oilers fans I follow talked about other Oilers fans overreacting and none of them were stinking up my feed. So I've got my shit together and I feel good. Seems almost certain that Draisaitl will be the second line centre right now. So hopefully he's, you know, the second coming of Jason Arnott and I'll be very happy.

The only two games this week I felt completely safe in a pick were San Diego over Jacksonville and... Atlanta over Minnesota. Luckily I made the correct choice of the two. Pittsburgh/Tampa Bay would have been a big stumbling block too but I already picked Pittsburgh over the Browns in week one so I didn't have to even consider that one.

I'd be a lot more worried about stuff on that side of the incident if I didn't have an external hard drive with all my important fun stuff backed up on it. For the record, one of the best peace of mind investments I've ever made. Totally worth it. It's doubly important for me because in rural Canada, bandwidth limits are still very real and pretty crazy low. So something like my huge collection of mp3's, or my Steam library, would be impossible to just go grab again without one. All I'm really worried about is get my hardware stable and working as intended.

I can definitely see the appeal of sticking to a college job in the USA. You have 32 of (whatever coaching job each) in the NFL, you've got like 200+ at the college level. And if you get really entrenched at an even half-decent program in college you can still make pretty crazy money by the standards of the real world.

The referees in Green Bay vs. Chicago have been really poor thus far. Both ways. Hopefully they calm themselves at the half. They are having way too much of an impact today.

Just as a general note, I would weep for joy if computer components adopted a more logical, easy to follow numbering policy. Trying to determine what you have and what that means when you are looking at parts is a complete fucking chore. There's a reason car models are just listed by year, you know?

I always cringe when I come out of a draft wide receiver heavy. Unless you have, like, Megatron, everyone else even the really good ones seem to fluctuate so damn much game to game.

So this has become the most ridiculous saga now. I go in yesterday to pick up my machine after 2 weeks (was told 3-5 days initially as an estimate). Fan's been replaced, great. We ran a benchmark on your system, it's working well. Great. So I turn it on in the store to make sure everything's cool and within literally 2 seconds it's clear everything isn't cool and my fan is still revving like a 14 year old boy that's just discovered tits. So... turns out the temperature sensor on my motherboard is shot. That part I understand, that makes sense. The part that they benchmarked my system (and they did, there's a fan speed program installed on my desktop that wasn't there before) and you never noticed my fan going completely berserk the whole time... what the fuck is that about? How asleep are you not to pick up on that? Literally I walked into the store, they turned it on for me, and within 2 seconds I knew. It just doesn't make *that blender noise* if it's working right. They're replacing the sensor for free which kept me from going full Joe Peschi in their store, for now. Who fucking knows how long this will take. Also, this is the weirdest part... I swear, in the brief time I was on it, some of my WIndows settings have been fucked with. And I can't for the life of me figure out why. The windows login screen had the default Win 7 background instead of the one that's part of the ACER theme package It's had for three years. I'm not sure my resolution was right. And it looks like someone fucked with my trackpad settings. Why? What the hell is going on here? Unless it was started in Safe Mode and they just didn't tell me, I have no possible explanation for that. I just want my machine back in one piece at this point. Fuck this.
