  1. Bert Cooper was around as of two years ago. Might as well make a comeback.
  2. While this probably will be lost when the UFC has their presser later today, I think this does fit into the discussion we had about gym regulation and overall culture: http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/thread/2385281/Thug-Rose-Putting-roufus-sport-on-blast/?&page=1 Red Schafer's comments are on page six, FWIW. It's in reference to the fallout of Dennis Munson's Jr., a member of the now disbanded Roufusport kickboxing team, who died following fighting at an unregulated Duke Roufus promoted event in March. http://m.jsonline.com/watchdog/watchdogreports/Milwaukee-kickboxer-Dennis-Munson-Jr-dies-following-cascade-of-errors-by-fight-officials-b99356847z1-280084622.html Not looking good for Duke Roufus and Scott Cushman right now. This makes the complaints made by the girls from Team Pettis early in the season look pretty convincing in hindsight.
  3. I don't think Bellator has a shot at signing him though. Bellator's best bet is competing for prospects, but even then it's kinda difficult if they're trimming their roster. You can't eliminate some of the awful fighters that have populated these tournaments, but start replacing them with everyone you want to start building up. Not only would the roster be the same size, but then you owe the job guys more fights as well. Thus, you somehow end up with a bigger roster as a promotion that only plans to run once a month and still uses regional fighters to sell tickets. You don't need Nam Phan around for multiple fights just because you wanted Mike Richman to torch him for one night.
  4. Honestly, Cosby's best bet is to just retire from the public eye for the rest of his life. I like how the new Black Dynamite episode from last night was produced several months ago and still got in some stuff about Cosby being a serial rapist. "You mean jello-loving, date raping Bill Cosby?"
  5. Does Tom Coughlin know you're allowed to kick field goals down six with five minutes, a timeout, and the two-minute warning left?
  6. Brock was still under contract when he retired. He still owed them a fight also. I don't think he is now because of the whole WWE thing. But as someone pointed out on Twitter last night (John Nash maybe), Zuffa conceivably could take him to court on the whole thing. If this turns into a legal war, I doubt Brock would want to come back to MMA. He can just chill at home with his family in Canada and spend that WWE money.
  7. Chandler went like 0 for 8 in takedowns. He looked pretty ineffective like he did in the first fight. I don't think the injury and the lack of caring about the fight had anything to do with his performance in the first fight. Brooks is just a better all around fighter at this point. Tito vs. Bonnar is up there as one of the worst fights of the year.
  8. Just in case reminder so I don't have move posts tonight: This thread is strictly for anyone who chooses to discuss the WSOF show tonight. Bellator 131 has it's own thread. There you go.
  9. Daniel Pineda retired Leonard Garcia tonight by scorching him in under 2 minutes via submission. Basically, takedown -> pass to side control -> kimura. Just pathetic and shameful stuff from Garcia.
  10. During downtime, Melvin Guillard missed weight for his WSOF LW title fight with Justin Gaethje and agreed to give up 50% of his purse for a non-title fight. Also, UFC signed Konstantin Erokhin.
  11. From a business standpoint, Jacare would probably make more sense. Even though Bisping and Rockhold built up the fight, it was probably only seen by about 350k-400k people on Fight Pass. No more than maybe half a million if you want to count people streaming it illegally. Jacare smoked Mousasi in front of over one million viewers. Plus, it's easier to promote someone on short notice who has torched everyone in the UFC so far.
  12. I watched Heaven & Earth a couple nights ago. I thought the lead actress (and Joan Chen) did an amazing job. However, I would imagine there would be Asian-American and Vietnamese advocacy groups protesting outside of Oliver Stone's house on a nightly basis while that movie was out in theaters in 2014.
  13. If they were using the head-to-head victory logic, they would.
  14. Speaking of highly respected, legendary actors doing shitty movies.....
  15. I dunno about that unless Rockhold and the UFC are gung-ho about him getting another fight. If people are convinced that Rockhold is a probable Belfort replacement, then he could feasibly fight for the belt without having another fight.
  16. Jacare vs. Yoel Romero at UFC 184 Looks like Thatch will fight Wonderboy Thompson instead of Rick Story on the Broomfield card
  17. Holly Holm is out of her UFC 181 bout.
  18. Someone on the IMDB board: Television director? Pass. It took me about a good ten minutes to stop laughing.
  19. Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann at UFC 183 Bigfoot Silva vs. Mir at UFC 184 Demetrious Johnson wants to return in February or March.
