  1. Preach. Was especially glaring last night when he was going up for the headbutt. Looked like he didn't quite have his feet under him and AJ was really waiting there. Blessedly, the headbutt looked great. Dude has a lot of potential, and I hope it comes together for him. I like that they're giving him these big matches. I only watched the first and last matches. Representative of a trend lately, there was way too much overselling a big kick-out. Humberto did it like three times in his match, and Becky looked like she was having an existential crisis when Kairi kicked out after the leg drop. It sucks and it should be dialed way back. Of course they're probably coaching it into them, so we're screwed. Loved the finish to AJ-Humberto with the shoulder block into the calf crusher. AJ continues to look like a stud. No notes.
  2. That's not really hinting at anything though. He's lost a couple big matches and needs to get back on the horse. Doesn't necessarily suggest a heel turn. As for skits on TV, there are other ways to go about it. Stop more performers on the ramp for interviews in the arena. BTE's average viewership is a small fraction of those who watch Dynamite. If there are major developments like the one you're suggesting, they ought to be on TV where people will actually see it.
  3. Maybe they should drop some of those hints on the TV show that many more people watch.
  4. There's a 50/50 chance that in ten years, The Deuce is looked back on more fondly than The Wire. Not sure how many here have been watching and want to get into that, but (acknowledging recency bias) I think its David Simon's best work.
  5. I can't believe people are still discussing the non-story that not everyone like superhero movies. Although now I'm enjoying the mental image of Joe Pesci motherfucking Tony Stark till he cries. So that's a happy thought.
  6. Yes. It was their second choice. They really wanted to do a bunraku gimmick, but it was shot down because it might step on Bray’s toes.
  7. I don't think we got a clear enough look to say whether or not it was a Night Owl ship. I was getting flying saucer vibes more than anything.
  8. You're 100% right about them telling us too strongly that Manhattan can't look like a run-of-the-mill human. Even if it's not Irons, them leaning on that so hard last night has me thinking he's already back on Earth.
  9. Feels like it's been too long since Kairi's had a singles match that's meant anything. Hope her and Becky get time. It's a three hour show, so they're probably good for at least two segments.
  10. Only way this can get worse is if Seth decides to step up and offer his usual company man take. Then we'll have drama bingo.
  11. I think got that. I'm just surprised that between John's film and promotional schedule and learning Mandarin, he had time to go get a masters degree in subtweeting. I have no idea what drama he's offering a take on.
  12. On the subject of wrestlers tweeting vague digs, anyone with a Cena-to-English dictionary want to explain what's going on here?
  13. Looks like Mandy Rose. And I think that's Sonya and Paige at ringside.
  14. Bully booked Enzo and Cass in an attempt to capitalize on controversy. I 100% believe he'd try the same here.
  15. He was smart to delete the Jay Lethal tweet. They might be sharing a locker room in 90ish days.
  16. The news stand scene and the American Hero Story felt like they were lifted straight out of the comics. Really did justice to some of the asides in the book. I'm not buying the Jeremy Irons as Dr Manhattan theory. Maybe for episode one you could squint and see it. That bonkers scene blows the theory up, IMO. "I have friends in high places." Bravo. Edit: His Wikipedia page hasn't been updated to reflect it yet, but that was Robert Wisdom running the new stand, right?
