  1. Woah, people are clipping the seemingly inflammatory stuff and not all the other parts where he was talking about stuff like how Vince wouldn’t have yet him TV with grey in his beard? No wonder everyone is so fired up!
  2. He wished everyone well, why are people so upset? He was just being polite and not no-commenting Ariel for ninety minutes! He knows Ariel doesn’t like that!
  3. They surely knew Helwani was going to ask about this stuff before they let the dog off the leash. And really, not a lot we didn’t already know or assume (aside from that stuff about his last tricep surgery).
  4. After Black Adam flopping and some Dwayne fatigue setting in, retreating to things people used to like him for and re-upping his relationship with that audience is actually pretty smart. He gained a lot from it when he did it with Cena. And between lucking into this heel stuff that people seem to be responding to, and doing a Benny Safdie A24 movie I get the sense people like him getting out of his comfort zone of the last decade or so. He seems to be gaining a lot out of this. And he still plays it safe by saying he’s playing a heel when he goes on Kimmel.
  5. Aside from that, I really enjoyed Dynamite. I was a moronic doubter about Okada clicking on weekly American TV. But he’s smart and the audience is bought in. Happy to be wrong. I think Ibou of WP said he heard from someone in WWE creative (if I’m recalling this incorrectly, I apologize) that the pitch for him there was Gunther with subtitles, which sounded better than anything I could imagine AEW doing with him given the pace of these shows and how quickly things get moved on from segment by segment. My mistake, this rules so far. Some awkward moments in the Hook-Jericho match, but the right result and I’m glad they’ve followed up on Hook vs Joe. Hope this doesn’t go sideways like so much Jericho stuff. Bring on the E&C tag run in the near future.
  6. She pitched to a video package in a show-opening promo. I might as well be watching pandemic-era Raw. What a strange choice.
  7. ESPN is reporting the gambling debts totalled at least $4.5 million and were for international soccer, NBA, NFL, and college football games. On Tuesday, Ippei told ESPN that Ohtani agreed to pay it off for him. He walked that back on Wednesday.
  8. Where does Dazed and Confused fit into the high school movie canon? From the last decade, Lady Bird springs to mind as a great one, but it’s more of a coming of age movie which is a completely different thing. Sight unseen (never watched a second), is Euphoria kind of holding this crown for the current generation? I have no clue.
  9. They’ll slow the tempo down to accommodate Bloodline Roman dinner theatre, surely he can keep up.
  10. Kenny does this too. They brought him up right in Deep South.
  11. People are trying to quarantine the ratings talk again. The feeling has been restored.
  12. The steelbook I own says Part One. It’s Part One.
  13. Emma Stone’s basically lapped her entire generation and is in a great position to take a run at Hepburn’s record. Top of the world.
  14. They’re gonna let him book his entire block in the G1, aren’t they?
  15. Swerve, Ospreay, Switchblade, Adam Cole, Hook, Darby, Takeshita, and somehow still Jericho. Sorry to anyone hurt by this list. Probably Matt.
  16. For the acting Oscars this year, they’re doing that thing they tried a decade-plus ago where they have five people come out to each individually speak glowingly about one nominee. If the old YouTube videos I’ve been watching are any sign, this is gonna add a bare minimum of twenty minutes to the show. They should just play clips. People like clips.
  17. EVPs who ascend through the middle of the stage are over. They’re learning.
  18. Ethan Page is licking his chops somewhere at the prospect of more TV time.
  19. surely they need a fifth movie where the Avengers finally assemble
  20. How long till the NBC sports content ends up on the Sports+ joint venture?
  21. He’ll be the age that Ioan Gruffudd is right now.
