  1. I don't doubt that those incidents - if true - had a lot to do with Cass' firing. But let's face it.... a lot of guys have done that or worse and still have jobs. Hell, guys of a lot less use to the company than Cass have gotten away with worse and kept their jobs. Remember the story about Sin Cara being kicked off the bus? Cass' biggest issue was being a middling performer who the company decided wasn't worth any hassles. If he had carried the Daniel Bryan feud on the mic or impressed people in the matches the two had, he'd probably still have a job. Besides, we still have those cringeworthy "Big guy in a suit makes fun of little people who aren't really little" promos to remember him by. Those are so bad, we'll still be making snide comments about them 10 years from now.
  2. Same here. He told some whoppers on social media and generally seemed to be trying to stay relevant, so I was kinda skeptical he was that sick and only paid mild attention. Feel a little bad about that now.
  3. Finished season 4 of SW Rebels this morning. Yeah, that worked for me. Longform storytelling isn't something you get too often in animated shows and it all worked quite well. They managed to make the big character death seem really meaningful to the characters and audience, without having the entire plot hinge on it. The fight to rescue Ezra's homeworld brought the show full circle to where it began, as did Ezra's sacrifice. I actually liked the resolution of the dangling Ahsoka plotline, which was a bit out there without feeling like a cheat. I think S4 was probably my favorite season but the finishing stretch of season 2 with Vader and Maul was probably the best run. Are the Jedis supposed to be entirely gone when SW Episode 1 starts? I've never followed the Star Wars mythology that closely. I didn't really like that Rebels took both jedis off the canvas, while leaving almost everyone else in play, but I feel like that may have been necessary to make the show sync up with the accepted timeline.
  4. Stumbled across this while i was searching for something else:
  5. Whut da Hale? [/bookert] LOl, that is seriously the worst idea they could come up with. I mean, I dunno that anyone could pull off that angle without it being offensive and ridiculous. if anyone could book that competently, they're probably too smart to work for Vince. LOl, that needs filed in the WrestleCrap folder next to Vince's supposed idea for the Nazi monster heel who spent the past few decades in suspended animation, only to get unfrozen and paired with a Jewish heel manager.
  6. I dug them adding a layer to (hopefully) the eventual Bryan-Miz feud without really doing anything that will lessen the impact of the eventual confrontation. I laughed at Miz forgoing his normal entrance to sprint down the ramp like he was trying to catch the last bus out of Cleveland.
  7. Didn't they consider putting the women's title on Ellsworth and trying intergender matches? 'Cause I would be down with Asuka vs. Ellsworth with Asuka squashing him like a bug.
  8. Which Parodius games? I'm looking at Sexy Parodius (on Saturn) and... I dunno.... Parodius Da!... but I'm open to recommendations.
  9. Must have heard that they've started using a new technique at the performance center whereby they can teach guys to be 7' tall. He knew his days were numbered.
  10. So, when Enzo/Cass/Carmella debuted, we all knew Carmella would have the best/longest WWE career, right? I'm gonna let whoever got that one right pick lottery numbers for me.
  11. Short answer: Because it's iconic and thus has a lot of brand recognition. Also DC's attempts to put her in something more modest have been miserable failures: This is from David Finch's recent run. Ugh. I'm fine with the idea of putting her in something modest, but I loathe Finch's design. There's also this from J. Michael Stracyznski's run several years back. I kinda liked this design, but a lot of fans reviled it and it didn't last long. I get your point. WW's glorified bikini bottoms and bra should bother me more than it does. I've come to accept that putting her in anything very different is going to dilute the brand recognition and probably won't be accepted by a contingent of fans. I don't really have a valid argument for why the costume should remain as is, but I'm not a fan of a radical redesign either. Did Rucka ever address the costume? He wrote her as a feminist icon during his two runs (and feuded with Frank Cho over Cho's cheesecake covers) and, honestly, if it's good enough for Greg Rucka, it's good enough for me.
  12. If I'm Matt Hardy, I'm feeling a little insecure about my job security. Curtis Axel did a spot-on impression. Apparently, the gimmick only requires bad hair and the reading your lines like you might be autistic. Yeah, there are still an awful lot of guys in the WWE with bad hair: Matt Hardy, Bray, Braun, Becky (no one is more attractive with troll doll hair), Dolph, Nakamura. I think we can agree Bray is the worst. His hair isn't good either.
  13. That probably didn't help Hal with his commitment issues.
  14. I've suspected all along that the steak thing was your fault. Now I have proof.
  15. Now I kinda wish Don Frye had won Money in the Bank.
  16. Honestly, I thought his last TNA run was pretty good. He seems to have regressed a bit since coming back to the WWE. I hope this Lashley-Zayn feud is over. Both guys deserve better. Expecting it to continue though. Ten years from now, we're all going to be horrified that Lashley beat up "his sisters" in a garbage comedy segment. To be fair, that segment was mostly horrific on several levels.
  17. Natayla turning on Ronda is one of those "Wrestling Booking 101" things that makes a lot of sense but is too "wrasslin'" for Vince's tastes, so he'll never do it. I'm kinda skeptical he'd ever give Natayla that good a spot, but i would have said the same thing about pairing her with Ronda in the first place. Besides, Alexa's megapush must continue. Based on last night, Ronda appears to already be better in the ring than Alexa by a large margin. I can't imagine what the matches are going to be like, especially if Alexa gets booked to go over (which wouldn't surprise me). I didn't mind Ellsworth's return, but there doesn't seem like much upside to letting Carmella hang onto the belt, especially since she's basically Alexa's mini-me in terms of gimmick and skills. Lol, anyone remember the six months Carmella rarely got booked on TV?
  18. The cash-in has to take place inside a WWE ring, doesn't it? I mean, it's not like the old hardcore title where you could cash in anytime anywhere 24/7. It that's the case, Brock may have a foolproof plan to hang on to the title. There probably aren't many places on Earth you're less likely to find Brock Lesnar than in a WWE ring.
  19. And be sure to tell the women in the class that they have a 1 in 5 chance of getting the job. Probably less. Seriously, arguing sex discrimination in a field where your gender has an overwhelming advantage is just dumb. At this point, I'm thinking a female executive at ESPN gave him the bad news and he can't let it go. He-man wimmen haters club, here I come/ I kinda wish ESPN hadn't let him go so they could fire him today instead.
  20. I feel like Becky falling off a ladder and landing on her face while Alexa climbs the ladder and wins the title is a pretty fitting summary of the women's divisions since Alexa's megapush began. As a bonus, they managed to make both Becky (can't figure out how to unhook briefcase) and Asuka look dim-witted (apparently has no idea that other people can wear masks). Mostly disliked women's matches. Mostly thought men's matches were average. AJ/Nakamura had some good stretches, but wasn't a classic match between them, most of the other matches were forgettable. Braun is basically a primer on how not to handle a monster. They don't really know what to do with him, and letting him run through everybody really doesn't help any of them. Coachman tackling about resting while in a bearhug certainly killed that move dead. He's had broadcasting jobs outside of WWE. I guess no one wanted to rehire him. I guess he couldn't get another mainstream job. I don't recall him being this mind-numbingly bad before.
  21. Is Charlotte Wilder even in charge of hiring? She's a writer, isn't she? Unless she's management and sitting in on job interviews, Werder is picking an argument with the wrong person. If I'm Werder, I'm spending the rest of the week alternately claiming that I was hacked, or that I was drunk-tweeting. He did that thing where someone says something innocent, and the other person extrapolates something inflammatory and completely unlikely from what you said (Person A: i am white. Person B: So you're saying you're glad you're not black?). It'd be a bad look even if he had a valid point, which, from what I can see, he does not. What does Werder do these days? I've got no idea. If I had to guess based on that series of tweets, I'd guess "unable to find job and bitter about it."
  22. No shame in that. If he was active today, The Sheik would be reading Dykstra's book to learn how to heel it up better.
  23. Me too. I'm not sure there was really any reason I needed to know that.
