  1. I read 4 reviews of it last night and every single one of them in one form or another asked "where's the fun?" or mentioned "very very dark grey" so you guys are on to something. The 4 reviews were Total Film,Empire,The Guardian and IGN.
  2. Roth Cornet or what ever her name is, possibly the worst offender.
  3. I really enjoy reading hitfix.com for some of Sepinwalls reviews but most of the other journalists there are kinda annoying and pretentious towards a lot of stuff (most recently Daredevil)
  4. I watched ep1 last night and really enjoyed it. The first 10 minutes or so felt a bit unDaredevil like to me but once the thing with the mob happened it was back to the DD I know and love. Punisher walking through the hospital was a great visual I thought.
  5. Was half expecting "Wake me up inside" by Evanessence to start playing during that Ben Hur trailer. Yeesh.
  6. It still feels as if Shane is a placeholder for someone else and they're just buying time for that person to show up.
  7. I have feelings of both admiration and envy towards you right now.
  8. UPDATE:She has lost faith in everything.
  9. I haven't been this excited for a TV series being released since the final season of The Shield came out on DVD years ago. Roll on Friday morning.
  10. A girl i work with is about to watch the "Ozymandias" episode of Breaking Bad over the weekend...... i can't wait to see the results of her soul being crushed on Monday morning.
  11. Re; American Crime Story. Is/was Robert Shapiro really that....aloof in real life?
  12. Cant post link on mobile but there's a great interview with Austin Aries on wwe.com
  13. Read somewhere that Halt and Catch Fire season 2 is on US Netflix now for those interested. Edit: And apologies if stuff like this doesn't belong in this thread.
  14. I love Will Arnett but i love Daredevil more.
  15. Why couldn't Netlix have given us Daredevil tomorrow instead of some stupid series called 'Flaked' or whatever?? I need it NOW!!
  16. I think it's great. As you said the performances are so so good but there is some silly stuff littered throughout. Its kinda like Smackdown 2002-2003, the Smackdown Six (Vance,Paulsen,Brown etc.) are knocking it out the park but you still have to put up with ridiculousness of the Al Wilson stuff which in this case is Schwimmer,The Kardashian stuff and fucking John Travolta.
  17. Watched it again earlier aswell and its just as if a switch just went off in Conor at about the 1.30 mark in the 2nd round and his energy just disappeared. His coach told him pepper the legs and also to use the left as a decoy to hit him with the right and he didnt do either-i complained earlier in thread that he needed to change coaches maybe the problem was that he just didnt listen. Then Nate rocks him and he just cant deal with it, a few things to work on for Conor but if he can learn from his mistakes then his return will be very interesting. Also, the comments from Aldo and dos Anjos today are bizarre and mind-boggling.
  18. To Kavanagh's credit, I believe I saw someone tweet that he did tell Conor in between rounds to not put so much on his punches. That's something I actually agree with. Conor tried to fight at his normal pace with added muscle and didn't account for Nate being able to survive the first few volleys. He would stopped plenty of fighters at featherweight and lightweight, but Nate was able to keep up and continue to fight. Conor kept spamming that overhand left and uppercut. Instead, he should have slowed the pace down (much like he did in the Siver fight to finish him) and let the punishment soak in. Nate was able to keep the jab in his face and keep him honest. McGregor really didn't throw any kicks to the body save for maybe one and that would've slowed Nate down. He needed to get to Nate's gas tank because he was the one who was use to fighting at that weight. Ok fair enough have to give Kavanagh some credit in that case. Best thing McGregor can do is maybe forget about UFC200 and redesign and rebuild, get some BJJ under him and THEN see the lay of the land. Rushing into a Aldo/dos Anjos fight right now could be career suicide.
  19. Before I start i just wanna say im a part time MMA fan so tear apart my comment if you please. I think the defeat doesn't hurt Conor that much in the medium term of things he'll still get the big money fights and the attraction is still there...for now. One thing that may hurt him (and it was mentioned earlier by someone,so credit to them) is John Kavanagh. Conor has to move away from him if he wants to better himself and get over this defeat. A new coach would teach him how to deal with people like Diaz,Dos Anjos,Lawler etc. Kavanaghs tactics when Conor got rocked by punches? Go to the ground, which is Conors weak spot. Doesn't make any fucking sense to me, surely other coaches would have a better game plan than this. Kavanagh has taken him as far as he can in my opinion, for Conors sake he needs a change. Another thing that struck me was that Conor was pretty much gassed by round one. Its one thing doing movement drills carrying that weight but rounds in the octagon is a different story. Diazs "Who do you train with?"comment has way more legitimacy than anyone thought.
  20. "A fight that breaks every rule in the book... but makes all the sense in the world" great stuff from DMX.
  21. I thought all week that Conor was too relaxed and maybe underestimating Diaz a bit..... but after seeing that i think its just all been mind games and he is more than ready.
  22. I think pacing and editing is its biggest problem and some of the script is god awful.
  23. I was so so disappointed with Triple 9, so much potential but ultimately a missed opportunity. Could nitpick a lot of it but the story is a mess, most of the cast is misused,Kate Winslets accent,a hamfisted and rushed ending are just some of the things that are wrong. I wont say its awful because it had some good action scenes but i just wonder would it have worked better as a 6 or 8 part series??
