  1. Yeah, why couldn't Rippa had the stakes ready for today?
  2. Yeah, NXT has had issues with those types of matches unless they're outright squashes. I don't think that was necessarily Riley's fault. I just hope that him and Owens actually have it out in a brawl instead of a straight-up match, but I don't know if NXT would go that route.
  3. If I remember right, Marilyn danced during one of the WK shows, I want to say the 2014 show.
  4. Has anyone ever Estrada/skin the cat/headscissored before? Because that shit is awesome.
  5. Yeah, this is pretty much spot on. It's probably the greatest haircut in wrestling.
  6. So people really like the Invasion Attack match that much, huh? UG had the seminal wrestling moment of 2014 in a lot of ways, and while I'm normally someone who weighs the entire year, the bits and pieces of Okada in 2014 didn't impress me at all. He hasn't really improved since his breakout and it shows. Giving it to UG here.
  7. Neville's best match was with Zayn. That's better than anything Cesaro did. I'll give you guys that. But if you wittle that down to say, a Top 10, Top 25, Neville's list looks awfully thin. Cesaro's year was filled with the Sheamus series, assorted good TV matches, his stuff with Tyson Kidd, etc. He was way more consistent, and people touting the Balor match as something akin to the match with Zayn is hilarious to me. Especially considering his match with Owens smokes that match. I'm not saying it's a landslide. But on a full year scale, I don't see how Neville's year is better than Cesaro's unless you are weighing one match over all his other ones, really.
  8. This is a silly standpoint IMO, the voting is based on the last year, and Neville had a better one then Cesaro. What made it better? I said year-plus, but that doesn't mean the extra few months dating back to the Regal match in December of '13 accounted for my reasoning. If anything, I've loved the fact that in spite of how he was booked that Cesaro went out and had the year that he did. That's way more impressive than being booked to have great matches with better workers for the last year and improving along the way. I keep seeing people say Neville had a better year but not backing it up with reasoning.
  9. My gut is to vote Suzuki because he can go out and have the best match in the world basically whenever he wants. NJPW is full of guys like this (Him, Nak, Ibushi oddly enough) but Suzuki has this innate ability to make everything him and his opponent does mean something. I definitely didn't watch much from Japan in the last year, but even as great as Ibushi/Nak was, I don't think it matches up with the best things Suzuki does. I still want to watch the Harashima match, but I don't think it's going to take away from me voting for Suzuki.
  10. Blaming Cesaro on having a down year thanks to Vince not knowing what his strengths are is bogus. Not hearing it. Neville was one of the most improved wrestlers on the planet in the last year, but that doesn't make him better than Cesaro. Don't let the fact that Cesaro isn't near the top of the card blind you to the point that he was the best wrestler on WWE TV in the past year-plus.
  11. I'm at least happy that this got booked here when it's obviously not going to get booked in real life. Bryan was hurt for too much of the time period. Brock had the Cena SummerSlam match and the Royal Rumble match. Easy decision here.
  12. So one of these guys goes home, but Mastiff vs. Big Show is a thing. Cool.
  13. So on the same night, we had a 49/14/10, a 39/12/8 and an 18/25/4. Good fucking lord.
  14. How the fuck is Muta not on that list? Lack of Andre is hilarious, too.
  15. Hey, Hechicero got jobbed, too. They can't all be winners.
  16. This is such bullshit. I didn't get to watch too much Hechicero from the last year but it's obvious he's a fantastic worker. On various people's WOTY lists, I've heard him as high as #1 on more than one. Him not going on while Sato or Zack Sabre Jr. do (Who had good years, but not nearly as good as Hechicero) is pretty bad. This matchup shouldn't have been on here until the Sweet 16 at the least.
  17. I guess you really CAN buy anything you want to.
  18. Man, the nods to Breaking Bad in that final episode are nice. They gotta end it next year, right?
  19. I laughed at him being the last guy of the month for Black History Month because he's so ridiculously tanned I thought that was the joke. Dude is the most sympathetic wrestler in the world.
  20. The schmaltz factor on this season is damn near Sharknado-like. It's like they craft entire episodes around what Frank would say to the camera and it really comes off as pandering. That's not to say it's not a totally engrossing show. It totally is. My problem is that the money with Underwood was in his chase for the throne. Him keeping it doesn't seem as exciting because even the things he wants aren't being given any type of foundation other than he wants them to happen. Stamper is totally dying by season's end, though. If that isn't etched in stone, I don't know what is.
  21. I'm still pissed Angle didn't roll over towards Brock one more time.
  22. Looks like Brock is close to being gone: http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/2/26/8111563/lesnar-reaches-contract-impasse-with-wwe
