  1. The awesome tag depth is on tv every week. If you don't see it, that isn't on me. And I don't think this board "craps on" Adam Cole so much as they see him for what he is; a 5'9 charisma vacuum spot-monkey with a body made out of pipe cleaners and a head like one of those Easter Island statues. My dream match for Adam Cole at this point is him vs. a nine week vacation. No one should be clamoring for that 3 way. Gargano is the plain manila folder of wrestling and Finn Balor should be one one of the main shows doing something that matters. Lee, too, for that matter. They're having to play the "Sasha" card waaaaay too much, and that's only going to work so many times.
  2. I was being facetious, but AEW has beaten nxt far more often than the other way around. It's the better product, and I have no doubt that as fans begin to return to arenas, that will hold true. nXt's biggest problem is the people booking it, and as long as HHH and HBK are in charge, it's gonna be the same nonsense, especially when Keith Lee goes to the main roster.
  3. AEW is going to be fine. At this point they should be worried about putting on the highest quality show they can every single week. WWE is the one with the pressure on. They've been getting trounced regularly on Wednesdays by an upstart company. TNT seems to be completely on board with their show, the tag team division is absolutely bonkers, and they're still finding their footing. The fact that WWE has had to run through dream matches on their third brand show to put together any kind of winning streak says more about the ineptitude of the folks calling the shots in Stamford than it does about AEW as a brand. I have little doubt that there will be some new talent coming to AEW this month, while WWE has to try to continue to cut costs. I wish AEW would spend a bit to bolster the women, but they have a glut of young talent being allowed to do what gets them over, rather than being forced into cookie cutter roles on WWE tv. The 18-49 demo has always been AEW's and that bodes well for them.
  4. I'm not sure why you think that, given their complete inability to do that prior to the last two weeks...
  5. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The opening tag was really good. I'm digging the HBK/Diesel slow burn they're apparently doing with MJF and Wardlow. Second the Jungle Jack love. He's one for the four cornerstones AEW should be building for three years from now. He, Guevara (if he gets his shit together,) MJF and Darby are the future main eventers of the company. Count me in the "Wardlow is gonna be a big star" camp. Got a real "Early Tom Hardy" thing going. I saw Penelope Ford live at "Hell or High Water" last year. She has come one million miles since then. I almost skipped that match, and am very glad I didn't. Tremendous work from both ladies. Private Party is great. S&O could've used a win, but I understand the decision. It's amazing how much better a simple thing like "being comfortable with your gimmick" has made Jake Hager. As stupid as I thought Cody beating Vance for the TNT Title was, he's delivered. The Ricky Starks match this one have been inspired. Tag Champs always bring it. Always. As much as I don't go for Kenny Omega's pretentious nonsense, there's a dynamic with him and Page that just works. Oh, and Jericho ruled all night. If you disliked his performance, you are wrong.
  6. LOST also seemed to have more than it's fair share of actors having to leave the show for getting to Hawaii and acting like dipshits. Seasons 5/6 were phenomenal. It was 3 and 4 that cocked up the whole thing. Stretching that middle material out is what doomed that show. I thought the season 5 stuff where SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR SHITS SAKE SPOILERS Sawyer and the Gang were time skipping and ended up in the 70's was some of the best shit ever.
  7. Oh Damn! I am so, so sorry if I got anyone. That never once occurred to me. A sincere and heartfelt apology to anyone who might've been spoiled. Seriously.
  8. It felt to me like maybe she and Sarah Logan were gonna become the 3rds in their men's tag team feud, but that didn't materialize I guess.
  9. Renee Young on my tv is never bad. Wrestling, sports, weather, cooking. Whatever. Just get it done.
  10. I think he'd go back eventually for a Shield reunion/HOF induction. But just to do stuff? Nah.
  11. Turner has the NBA deal, too. I'm sure they could work out a thing where she does NBA studio shit and moonlights w AEW. Might be fun.
  12. Not enough "Quite frankly"s....
  13. I get that. And he shouldn't have said it. I think back to how dumb I was when I was twenty-two, and how lucky I am that social media wasn't a thing. AS someone who dealt with impulse control problems until my late twenties, I guess I feel a twinge of.. not sympathy, but... i dunno. It's hard for me to process. It really is. Like, I'm sure I said something at least that messed up as a twenty two year old kid. There should be consequences. I'm not saying there shouldn't be. But I'm not sure Sammy should go on the list of "giant pieces of shit" for all time.
  14. I mean, as far as Sammy Guevara goes, I'd always prefer someone talk about doing something shitty and then not doing it than the other way around, but you can't just say shit like that, either. Sasha was far classier than she needed to be, and I truly hope Sammy understands why that's unacceptable.
  15. I felt like the Viking Profits thing was a nod to "Superhero Team-Ups" in movies and comics, where the two heroes meet, fight, and each tell the other to stand down, before a common enemy forces them to work together. Only WWE is incapable of telling that story in a compelling manner.
  16. I feel like they don't fully trust Alexa again yet, either. They'd be pretty justified in being afraid that as soon as they put a top title on her, she'd get another concussion. At some point I feel like she's got to get another run, but she's one of several females with a spotty injury history that probably gives them trepidation.
  17. Can Scarlett Bordeaux work? I honestly have no idea. I don't watch Impact. But someone said it earlier; Karrion Kross is a geek and Scarlett is the money there, unless Karrion pulls a Buddy Murphy and becomes an otherworldly worker after his significant other got the call-up.
  18. The backlot brawl was pretentious nonsense. Not because it was "cinematic style," but because Adam Cole is the least self-aware worker in the business right now. I enjoyed Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong getting thrown into the trunk of a car. I was hoping Dexter Lumis would slap a "nonstop to OVW" sticker on the car. Women's six man was dope. Main event was not. Happy for Io, but the level of protection Charlotte gets is insane. She isn't a star, no matter how badly they'd like her to be. She's the female Seth Rollins at this point, only she can't play "smarmy" well enough to fall back on that.
  19. It's funny to me that they wanted to do Sasha/Bayley in Boston with Sasha as the face bc they were afraid that's the only place she was gonna be over. No Forgotten Sons this week. Hmmmm. I love Otis so much. There's no add on. I just fucking love Otis. Makes me laugh. Fuck Braun Strowman.
  20. Irritated that Sasha went over on Alexa, no matter who took the finishes. Other than that, good show. Loved the Gulak thing, too.
  21. Mox would sound intense ordering Chinese food. When he's even remotely interested in what he's doing, it's magical. I was crying during the Britt Baker montage. To me, this is what separates AEW from WWE right now. One of the things, anyway. People with actual senses of humor working there.
  22. I'd stick Dijakovic with Rollins. Make him an apostle. He dan get his feet wet without having to talk much.
  23. I thought about that too. I do think there's an outside chance Vance Archer either costs him the title or gets the match thrown out from interference.
  24. The Inner Circle thing was fucking hysterical. All the gifts, Hager's poem. Thought Mox was funny on commentary. It's too soon to turn Wardlow on MJF. Hopefully that's a slow burn. Nice FTR debut. Assuming Miro and TAFKA Zack Ryder are next. All in all, good "reset" show.
