  1. I don't get the love for Kalisto. He can be fun to watch but on the mic he's nothing. And I mean absolutely nothing. If you see him getting ready to talk, fast forward that shit. If you want a small athletic guy in a singles push for a title, Neville is right there and I'm not a huge Neville fan but he's miles better than Kalisto. At everything. I do think it was stupid for them to have given the belt right back to ADR immediately after Kalisto won it and then give it right back to Kalisto after that. Ziggler is fine. Just because they're not using Ziggler correctly and doing the right things with him doesn't mean he shouldn't be there. He's really versatile and his matches are fine. He can get other wrestlers over or he can be the man if they write it correctly. I don't really see him as a top of the card guy but he's certainly someone they could have around the US and IC titles. The US Title really couldn't be more meaningless when you have it flip-flopping back and forth between fucking Del Rio and Kalisto.
  2. He didn't have time because he was over-training so hard.
  3. Athletic in a general sense. Not necessarily more athletic than other players on the field. The two spots in the field with the smallest area to cover are 1st and 3rd base and not surprisingly they're the two positions on the field that are the lowest in players with stolen bases. Because I don't know a better way to quantify athletic in terms of stats. You're not going to take a really fast athletic guy and put him on first base typically. If you look at the top 100 stolen bases stat in the majors there's only 4 1st basemen. When I say old and fat obviously I'm exaggerating. But two replies in here about 1st basemen mentioned Jon Olerud and Mark Grace and while they were great defensive first basemen it's not like you'd ever put either of those guys on 2nd base or the outfield. You're always going to have players that aren't as fast or athletic as a centerfielder or shortstop but still have a great eye and can hit effectively and those players are suited to certain positions in the field. That's not to say that they can't be great defensive players at their position. I'm just saying we don't need to dumb down the standards with the addition of this DH position where you can stick a guy who's not that great in the field and doesn't really have to keep up with a certain level of athleticism but still hit the ball. That's where being a manager comes into play. I've got this guy who can hit but he sucks in the field, what do I do? It's easy now- DH.
  4. If you get rid of the DH altogether in the majors, I'd imagine the minors would follow suit.
  5. It doesn't really matter how it looks to you or me and really shouldn't be Werdum's consideration. He's not fighting for brownie points, he's fighting to keep his belt. So if he feels like he needs more time to prepare, then that's what he has to do. There's no huge push by the UFC behind Werdum as the champ. They've been on Cain's nuts for forever now. The only leverage that Werdum has is that belt. You can't count on the UFC to look out for you because you stepped up and fought a guy you weren't prepared for and injured when you get knocked out. Shit, circumstances might work out to where it would take him a long time to get back to a title fight again.
  6. I mean, again, it's not that they're making him the man, it's how they're doing it, which is the most busted way possible. They need to commit. This is borrowing from another wrestler, but here's the winning formula for Roman: Arrive Raise Hell Leave That's it. That's all they need to do and just put that on repeat. What they've done is took away anything organic about how he was getting over, shoved him down the audience's throat, cut his legs out by putting Daniel Bryan in the Royal Rumble, had Vince write his lines, got cold feet at WM and had him lose to Rollins, begin building him up again, make him look like an idiot by dropping the title right after winning it, have him look like an idiot again challenging for the title, finally have him go on a rampage, commit to making him champ, rampages stop, stand there and get chastised by the boss' daughter, lose the title again about a month after losing it. If the do the alternative, which is kick ass, kick ass, kick ass, kick ass, talk a little, kick ass, win the WWE Title at WM, kick ass, kick ass, kick ass, talk a little, kick ass, etc. all the way until now, there's probably not as much gnashing of teeth. Probably... They just need to drop back and punt and make that motherfucker a heel already. The way they're doing this run with him as the babyface trying to fight the boss of the company just isn't working for a million different reasons. It's going to take too much at this point for people to get behind him so just have him turn already. They can bring The Rock back at WM like they're probably going to do anyway and have him turn on his own family. What the fuck ever. They just need to give up this road they're on with this guy because it isn't working.
  7. I did enjoy the rumble match aside from the end. AJ, the Wyatt family domination, Truth, and then the Brock domination were all a lot of fun. I was disappointed they let Sami get taken out as quickly as he did. Neville was really busy in it also. Jericho being involved at all was dumb and the stuff with the LoN and then the return of the Wyatt family after elimination were really dumb. Hated how Brock exited also. They had the camera focused on him a while and I thought he was going to do something but nope, just going to the locker room.
  8. Pretty pumped for the Cespedes signing. I know it's only going to be for one year but they had to get him. Their window is now. Would have been tough to see him go to the Nats. Probably in the minority but I'm not interested in DH in the national league. Or any league for that matter. Pitchers should have to stand at the plate. They should maintain their hitting ability to some extent all the way up to the majors and also I don't like fat/old players or guys who are defensive liabilities being able to just swing the bat. If you want to be in the lineup you should have to play a position in the field and bat. There's already a position for the old fat guy, it's called 1st base. My apologies if you play an adult softball league and play first base. But chances are you're old and fat as well.
  9. I don't know why what went down is crooked. Would you rather go with the one who has a full plan, money included or one of the other two who haven't come up with shit?
  10. That's a lot to pay for someone who strikes out so much.
  11. People are indecisive. Pick a team.
  12. Man, any other time you would look at Rockhold and think "of course." Except for the existence of McGregor. Hard to deny.
  13. I think Bortles actually is going to wind up being one of the better quarterbacks in the league in the next few seasons.

    The X-Files

I'm looking forward to the mini-series and I didn't watch the original series when it aired. The style of show is right up my alley though and I enjoyed the movies. The shows just came out at a time where I wasn't watching much TV and I never really tried watching them. I actually might decide to go back and watch the series from the beginning.
  15. So was he tested for the event itself? Because if so and he passed, it's pretty crazy that days later he was already back on a cycle.
  16. This is a hell of a start to the year for events. Looking forward to this card which is rare for me for an FS1 show. Really interested to see how Cruz matches up after so much time off with the new champ. Alvarez/Pettis should be electric.
  17. I don't think so. Look at the qbs in the league. RG3 won't have a problem finding a job as a starter if he wants it.
  18. Matt Moore > KaepernickKaep sure looked decent when he got to the Super Bowl. I think that guy is still in there. RGIII is probably the best rookie quarterback of all time...3 years ago. He's 25, and had a pretty severe knee injury. Gruden clearly didn't want him, and didn't put him in positions that would maximize his talent. We have no idea what either of them can be going forward. I don't think he was even the best rookie qb that year so all time is a bit extreme.
  19. Finished the main story quest yesterday. It was a good quest line. So many side quests to do now. I might focus on building some ridiculous shit for a while.
  20. Nvm I forgot who the head coach is
  21. I think you have to wait for them to confirm what they are doing at QB before you can safely say that. True, although early reports are that the Skins will franchise Cousins if necessary. Now, are there teams that are desperate enough to give up two first rounders for Cousins? Probably. Well, I don't know how many people view giving Cousins $19mil a good thing. Never beat a .500 team this season. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  22. I still can't wrap my head around all the idiots saying they'd take Cousins in these playoffs over Rodgers.
  23. At least Lewis almost always posts a winning record and makes the playoffs, unlike, say, Jeff Fisher... Still, worst playoff record in history. 13 seasons. Not a single win.
