Considering it's 4/20 she's going to need some awfully nice kush to ease the pain, bubba. /Iron Sheik

Dreamer put a Facebook post up saying that the fried mushroom bit really did happen years ago and he definitely got a black eye. It's amazing what they bring in from real life experiences. What I'm also loving is they aren't afraid to go with things in the style of popular Youtube videos. They used Bad Lip Reading, old people react to a thing, and other stuff. So whoever comes up with that deserves some kudos. And if anybody I know gets a chocolate martini, I'm checking to make sure there's actual chocolate behind the bar.

So, no talk about Hive and the the mistust with the inhumans on Shield? That was quite the episode. And they're hyping up an agent's going to die next week. If it's who I think it is I'm going to be pretty sad about that.

If I take the comics out of the equation and just think about the reality of the situation, once Zoom released Wally Flash could have just said "Yeah, screw you" and they would have trapped/killed him. Boom, no more Zoom. Now I'm sure they couldn't do that because Flash is good and they need to stretch this out, but the opportunity was right there.

Oh, it definitely was. Even though I watched until the past couple months I sure as hell stopped giving a shit after that point.

When I was reading about how this is definitely going to be it for them I was feeling sad for the wrestlers that gave a crap for some reason. They really wanted it to succeed, but try as they might it just got worse. Now that I'm reading about the fucking Harris Twins's company buying them I'm just hoping they all say "Fuck it!" and do away with this company forever.

RAW: 18 April 2016 - SPOILERS from London
NikoBaltimore replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
My favorite thing about Raw. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ And it led to somebody PSing it into this gem of a picture: -
That was amazingly perplexing considering he had the pronunciation down just fine at WK9, and he's very familiar with the guy.

APRIL 2016 WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Just read ongoing results. On the one hand I wish I didn't, on the other hand this is going to be some interesting TV. Either way, the Raw thread's going to be a minimum 20 pages, I can sense it. EDIT: Well, so much for that theory, didn't see all the spoilers and was expecting something big at the end. Oh, well. -
Thank goodness for Comcast's X1 system. While I can't get it on the cable box using the app for their On Demand service I can watch these shows on the phone. Considering I just noticed this I caught last Friday's episode. JR is really, really good at this and I can forgive him for not getting all the names right at this point. Thankfully, Josh is there to kinda sorta correct him along the way. Omega/Kushida was an awesome match and Goto/Nakamura was tremendously great. I'm just glad the older episodes are on the app, I have some catching up to do.

2016 ROH DISCUSSION THREAD
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
Absolutely loved the Japan show, so much fun. The opening tag was fun, and I got a kick out of Delirious/Gedo. The videos of Moose and Castle going around Japan were well-done and really made it feel like they were a big deal (was highly amused at the cameo in Moose's video) The main event was great, great stuff and it's one of those matches that was greatly enhanced by the crowd. I guess the suplex outside was supposed to be on the ring apron. But when Iishi landed on the outside the crowd was going ballistic, and man that looked painful. Oh, and how great was that Cheeseburger commercial? I loved that so much, bless them for doing their take on wacky Japanese commercials. -
Yeah, but there's always that one guy that doesn't care about such things. When something cool happens we can't help but wish to see it and love when somebody does that. That, and we can be pretty selfish about these kind of things. I don't care for people doing that at a show if I'm there, would prefer to experience it. But if somebody put up Nak/Manny who am I to complain?
-
I got 99 problems but a gimmick ain't one. Yeah, I know, that was pretty painful even by my standards. But seriously, I'm hoping these matches they're doing at house shows leads to cool stuff on TV. Revival/AA went around the country doing stuff before Takeover, but I'm hoping to see more house show matches translate to TV. Why not tag up Aries/Finn against Joe and somebody else? Or why not have Bayley do something goofy like she does on house shows? It's NXT, there's room for fun stuff to happen within reason. But is it too much to ask to debut Manny already and get a match with him against Nakamura? Put it for a Takeover show if you can get people to care about the guy.

Still can't believe Santana is the same person as Samuel Shaw's crazy girlfriend in TNA. Anymore when I see her my brain refuses to associate her with that. That said, she's done tremendously well since leaving TNA and I'd love for WWE to sign her.

Lack of fancam footage makes me sad.

CWC WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CLASSIC (NO SPOILERS)
NikoBaltimore replied to ChesterCopperpot's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
Strange, I could have sworn they signed exclusively. That's what I get for busy workday with little time to look into it. But I'm still going to have fun anyway.- 729 replies

CWC WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CLASSIC (NO SPOILERS)
NikoBaltimore replied to ChesterCopperpot's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
I think it's a copout now for Gargano and Ciampa to be in this. I get it, they were Evolve guys, but it's not quite the same now that they signed exclusively with NXT. But hey, it's bound to lead to good matches so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Did they announce when the Evolve qualifying matches are happening? If it's for the Joppa, MD show my excitement level will somehow be even more than it already it.- 729 replies

I always thought Bayley and Sasha were homegrown developmental women until finding out last year about them. Bayley might have been in Shimmer, but I don't think she did that much to make a name for herself there. And Sasha was in Chaotic, but I never heard of her before NXT. They certainly weren't getting people to say "Push Davina Rose/whatever Sasha's name was!" and they turned out just fine.

STEVE AUSTIN PODCAST THREAD (New)
NikoBaltimore replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I loved the wheelchair story, but the story about him breaking his leg had me in stitches. I love that he couldn't be bothered to go just 3 miles elsewhere and had it taken care of. Enzo is the best, he's the embodiment of taking an already crazy character and turning it up a little for TV. I have 20 minutes left of the second one, but I'm a much bigger fan of them now after hearing this. And despite the craziness they have a surprisingly great mind for wrestling. I was blown away about them talking to Steve and they definitely know what they're doing. -
I'm really hoping that after losing the trios match Mil does just that. I'm hopeful on that as Catrina emphatically said they won't lose again. So either they win somehow or they lose and that's it for them. Really hoping the latter happens. And hot damn I could go for more Rey/Puma/Azteca in my life, that was amazingly fun. The ending sequence especially was tremendous.

The count was the punctuation mark on the fact that Hogan dominated Sting leading up to that. Sting looked a chump before the pinfall, and the aftermath didn't help matters.
-
I don't see that as exploitative, at least anymore than when they shows kids reacting to certain events. She's a superfan who would go to all the shows, got recognized by Bayley and WWE and they likely accommodated her family so she's in the front row. And surely WWE's doing it because they get that camera shot that helps sell a moment to people. As for her freak out at Takeover, that was off camera. So those that know are the ones there and whoever read online. But WWE's definitely not in the wrong for that. Now questioning if the girl is unstable or if the family is trash? I haven't heard anything like that about them, but feel free to investigate. Better yet, tell that to @CodyStarbuck who is her dad and see what he says. But without knowing a thing about them you're fine with suspecting that about them? I'm cool with you but c'mon, man.
-
I took it as "We signed these guys now, might as well start pushing them" and putting them over an established team isn't the worst thing in the world to get that going.
-
The Bayley/Liv match wasn't much but that Belly to Bayley for once looked pretty brutal. Liked the promo and was happy to see her check on Izzy afterwards, especially after reading about how Izzy reacted at Takeover. I never paid much if any attention to Dillinger, even when he started the 10 gimmick. But looking back the guy is super valuable to NXT and criminally underrated. He's gotten a lot of trust to be the first TV match for debuting stars (particularly indy stars) and he can work super well to make the transition easier for them. Definitely appreciate him more than I did before. And him and Nak had a fun match, am really glad Grave's call of Kinshasha is going to be a regular thing. And Cristobal, I haven't read spoilers, but I imagine Enzo/Cass are jobbing on their way out as well. But FWIW I'm okay with that as Ciampa/Gargano and American Alpha are the ones staying in NXT.
