  1. On the "best Criterion" note from a few days ago, a side recommendation: the Raymond Bernard Eclipse series that has Wooden Crosses and the best film version of Les Miserables in it is absolutely spectacular, with the obvious caveat that the Eclipse releases are bare bones without the normal Criterion bells and whistles. But you can also find it for under $25 which is a hell of a deal for what it is kinda two but also really kinda four masterpiece level films.
  2. Also Tyrese Haliburton is only four missed games away from not being eligible for All-NBA. Making an All-NBA team this year would increase his pay over the next five years by slightly over forty million dollars.
  3. TBF, Washington was coming to interview both him and Aaron Glenn and are expected to still interview Glenn. As far as Glenn goes, his players love him but the defense wasn't very good, especially the second half of the season. Some of it is talent, they desperately need a second pass rusher opposite Hutch and general improvements in several spots, but I'm not sure why he's considered much of a candidate this year. Feels like, of the two, Glenn is the one that could use more time as a coordinator.
  4. After having some time to calm back down. Intellectually, I know the Lions just had their best season in literally decades, and are still a young team with a potentially bright future. But it hurts. And I know it can go badly very easily in the future. I think I would actually feel better if San Fran had just stomped them.
  5. I have no idea how the first one wasn't a good decision. They even got the guy open. I want to know why the Lions suddenly developed an inability to catch passes in the second half.
  6. Okay really should've kicked that one I think
  7. That's something I'll live with. Campbell is who he is, and his utter fearlessness are a big reason the Lions are here. Wish it would've worked. FUCK
  8. Anyway, I really did just see the Lions completely dominate the first half of the NFC title game, right?
  9. I think it's the right call situationally. One of the biggest advantages of going for it there is the "even if you get stopped the other team takes the field inside the 5" and you lose that at end of half. It was the one of the three failed fourth down attempts Oregon had the first game against Washington that I disagree with going for it.
  10. Jesus Christ, Mahomes is getting the full Tom Brady "your defense and the other team making huge mistakes won a game you were mediocre in, so we are going to verbally give you a hand job while all but ignoring everybody else" treatment.
  11. "But Patrick Mahomes is different." Motherfucker, they held the chiefs to 17 points and under 320 yards. The KC defense and self-inflicted wounds beat Baltimore today, it wasn't that Mahomes was "different" than the teams they beat this year.
  12. Well, that'll do it. Boy, that first quarter really lied about what kind of game this was going to be.
  13. KC gets all the calls is overblown bullshit, but they certainly have let the DBs get away with a lot.
  14. As a side note, I really like those team crest hats.
  15. Man, it's insane they've out gained the chiefs by that much and haven't even cut the lead down.
  16. That was a terrible terrible decision.
  17. The Baltimore Ravens are going to have a really hard time beating The Kansas City Chiefs and The Baltimore Ravens at the same time.
  18. Zay Flowers just had the most up and down roller coaster drive you'll ever see one player have.
  19. Zay Flowers following a great play with being really dumb.
  20. It's funny. Jackson isn't having a good game in any way, shape, or form, but he's made like three or four different plays that just made me go "oh damn" out loud.
  21. And chiefs giving back most of those penalty yards.
