SEA @ CAR is one of those games where both teams are going to spend next week's film room sessions looking at the dozen times they could have/should have had this won.

And yes some of it is Carolina's D but some of it is that regression to the mean NinersFanInCT and I have been waiting/hoping to see show up for 3 seasons now.

So this has to be Russel Wilson's worst performance as a professional, right?

Cutler throws a deep hail mary at the end of the half for another POWER BOMB interception.

Brady's tone of voice is a bit too even tempered though. I'm trying to imagine him shouting "I AM THE MAN WHO RULES THE WORLD" into the sideline camera/boom mic and it just doesn't have that same panache.

Meanwhile, Brady has fully engaged "Saturday Morning Superstars Squash Match" mode against the Bears. Half expecting him to strap Cutler to a stretcher and push him down and off the entrance ramp during the post-game show at this point.

The way the camera angles are cutting, it creates the impression that Carolina LB Thomas Davis hit the ball carrier so hard he gave an Offensive Lineman on the other part of the field a concussion. Which is pretty amusing because boy did he really hit that guy hard.

Love how Carolina is dominating time of possession, is rushing the ball with nigh-impunity, and still only has 6 points. Grrrr.

With the new wacky flex scheduling we have now, that game was switched w/ the Texans game. That works out best to have a big game be seen by a lot of people. I'm not complaining, mind. I just didn't know they did this now. And with the 49ers on a bye and the London game getting it's own time slot, I get to watch a lot of games today. The Raiders are playing on the road so I might get the two late games too. That's 6 games, just with rabbit ears. If Football Oversaturation is possible, I might get there today.

Wait a minute I just realized SEA @ CAR is two NFC teams playing on CBS. Between that and the London Game starting 3 hours early I am really disoriented right now.

Okay those soccer style logos for the Lions and Falcons on the rejoin graphic were pretty sweet, even if FOX is shamelessly ripping off the hive mind of the internet.

Romo seems to be settling in nicely to the whole "finally having a defense and running game" thing. He hasn't had that Romo moment that reminds me of Ric Flair climbing the buckles in quite a while.

I had no idea the early/London game was starting so early so I just woke up and missed the first three quarters. Thus I am obligated to make the traditional and tired joke about "LOL (TEAM X) FORGOT IT STARTED THAT EARLY TOO" as soon as I get my bearings and figure out which team this is more applicable too. Seems to be the Lions although they appear to have started turning it around while I was coming back up through the last REM stage. Thank you, Matt Ryan, for wiping the sand out of my eyes with that hilariously bad interception.

So far, so good. Posey actually had a really poor at-bat in the 4th, swinging at the first pitch and popping it up when the pitcher had already walked two batters (including one for a run) and thus leaving the bases loaded. Could/should otherwise be even more than 5-0. Here's hoping that doesn't become relevant...

Kurtie's post reminds me of how I wish the NFL would make the Adams family relinquish the Oilers brand/logo so the Houston team could use it again. If the people out there still miss it/want it (which I don't actually know, though I assume they do given how people in other cities have felt) EDIT: I mean, I have no attachment to the Oilers and even I miss that uniform/logo

I, of course, very much approve of us focusing on this HOF QB discussion instead of this game.

A LOT of guys are better than Broadway Joe. He might be the worst QB in the Hall of Fame. In fact, I'd say he doesn't belong at all. If Stabler isn't good enough than Namath shouldn't be either. If Namath is good enough then Stabler should be too.
