  1. I'd have no problem with it if it was like one of those RAW goes old school episodes where everything is normal except it's the old set and oh look Bret's here, or even like NWA Power where it's just that type of show, but what's being described about Impact doesn't seem like my cup of tea, in the same way some of the BTE stuff isn't my thing. If Southpaw got an hour every week it would be garbage
  2. I've never heard this personally. I thought they were friends behind the scenes and did that pilot for Sirius years ago.
  3. I was gonna bring up the Taz pairing myself, and count me as someone who enjoyed it. And I think a sign they were legitimately good was how abysmal Taz was with Mike Tenay on TNA (in my opinion, anyway).
  4. I too remember when WCW tried to turn Booker T into the store brand Rock
  5. I was in the middle of a conversation when that happened and since I was distracted, I couldn't tell if it was a blown count or just crappy camera work, but I knew there was something. Glad I'm not crazy. And speaking of crazy: anyone else think there might actually be a chance they put the title on Scorpio?? I could see them not wanting Jericho to be Champion if there's a possibility he might have to put Tana over in the Dome. Especially after the PAC/DG kerfuffle. Unpredictability is the real star of AEW, I suppose.
  6. Dude by any chance were you the ring announcer for Best Friends, Stiffer Enemies? If so, gotta tell you: the sip of the water during Steve Corino's intro was pure awesome
  7. Finally caught most of the show (Had to skip Janela/Spears due to time constraints) and I was really, really happy with it. Cody and Moxley are probably the best babyfaces in the US right now if not the world. I'm entering unabashed fanboy territory here, but theyve really found a tone and presentation that just really speaks to what I personally enjoy about wresting. I know thats very broad and abstract praise, but it's true. Maybe because im about the same age as the EVPs but most of what AEW does is just so completely aligned with my sensibilities its hard not to gush about it. Great show and legit cant wait for Wednesday because if i were a betting man there is definitely an unreal MJF money promo on the way
  8. Final thread check before I go out for the night and just still really happy to see everyone's excitement, almost can't believe it. I probably won't see it til real late so I'm avoiding the boards and social - hope everyone enjoys!
  9. This is my first time where I unfortunately can't watch live, are the PPVs available on demand anywhere after?
  10. @West Newbury Bad Boy holy shit I had no idea Tessa comes out to Lo Horsemen. I posted the original version here the second I found out about it a few years ago, my girlfriend's roommate at the time was a big smoke dza fan
  11. That album is total butt except the song "Walk Among Us" which I found on Napster as a kid randomly. Otherwise I'm staunchly anti-Graves as well. How do you guys feel about the new Ozzy? Apparently the band is Post Malone's producer/guitarist Andrew Watt, Chad Smith from RHCP on drums, and Duff from GNR on bass. It's an absolutely insane waste to me that Zakk Wylde isn't on this but obviously I'm biased. https://youtu.be/fMAAMfHgO4Q
  12. Im huge into AEW, but I was not in love with Cody's announcement last night that
  13. I know that show name from one of the talking heads on Ancient Aliens, I can't remember his name but he talks like Mr Bottomtooth. Not the Greek guy or the accent guy. This all reminds me that I should rewatch that awesome Londrick shoot where they're smoking a blunt and drinking Heinekens, and Spanky starts talking about how the moon is hollow.
  14. How deep in the bubble am I that I'm wondering if Jericho interviewed the furher's son strictly for the heat?
  15. I am in the 21st year of my reign as champion of my middle school so if he wants to step I'm more than ready Those six mans were the absolute best thing in WWE in the last ten years, along with the Bryan win at 30. Maybe the only things that kept me hanging in there so long tbh. Also shout to the Evolution/Shield six man that went all over the building
  16. I'm with you on that one. There's really no precedent for this kind of circumstance, the closest example I could think of would be RVD refusing to work Tribute to the Troops in Iraq but thats obviously way different for many reasons
  17. Fingers crossed for another Adult Swim crossover
  18. Pleeeeeenty of time to yell at each other like savages about the Full Gear buyrate or whatever
  19. I was just playing WWE2K19 last night thinking about how much I loved the Reggie WCW Tag belts. It's still kind of weird to me to see one brand new here, because by the time I started watching WCW regularly they were discolored and falling apart. I think one of the side plates fell off when Hall/Nash held them in 97- a private collector has that one today and you can see how it was ripped right out of the leather. The JMAR ones that came after just didn't feel as classy, even when they added the eagle to the design
  20. You don't think it's too soon? Not arguing with your point, I just think they could milk the chase a little more. Then again, milking shit well after it's hot is kinda the WWE MO so maybe it is best to strike now
  21. I'm really into the whole Cody/MJF angle simmering too - I mean you could run it as it is now for 6 months, do the MJF turn, feud em for six months, turn Cody, team em back up for a year as heels, keep em apart, do it again. Like a Sami and KO situation where it's just sort of a known thing even when they're kept apart for periods of time. I also really like the concept of The Nightmare Family as a whole because it gives Cody backup in the Inner Circle feud besides just the other Elite guys. So even though they're going to be running Bucks vs LAX, later on if you've got the other guys involved in anything else, like Omega is with PAC and Moxley for example, you can still have Jericho and his guys mix it up with MJF, Dustin, and DDP and get the upper hand without making the other Elite guys lose on a weekly basis. It's like WCW vs NWO but with smart people. Someone in one of these threads, I can't remember who so please take credit if you see this, said they thought that the roster looked small initially but now looks to be near perfectly sized - after a few weeks of TV I have to agree 100%.
  22. Dude I really have to give you credit, that is an awesome line. Off topicish: if anyone was in the building Wednesday in Pittsburgh, or knows anyone who was there, I'm looking to buy one of those AEW terrible towels, PayPal or venmo
  23. In 19 yes but I don't know about 20
