  1. Personally, I'd just like it if the Meltzer/AEW crowd would admit that the top NJPW guys got surpassed in terms of match quality by the top NOAH/AJPW guys years ago. Danielson vs. guys like Nakajima or Miyahara or Kenoh would be a way better match than Okada at this point...
  2. I loved Prometheus when I saw it in the theater. Fassbender is incredible in it. Probably didn't hurt that I had recently inhaled the entire "Dragon Tattoo" trilogy at the time and was in love with Noomi Rapace.
  3. The Wire using "Body of an American" for cop wakes is just one of the many, many reasons it's the greatest tv show of all time.
  4. I totally forgot it was the soccer board that finally got FSW banned. Honestly as a DVDVR in-joke the best reveal ever for the AEW Devil would be Antichristo recreating his classic promo...
  5. To be fair I'd much rather watch Conway Twitty than Jelly Roll as well...
  6. Well, it certainly wasn't Miro saying, for instance, "Hey Vince, remember when you had Austin mock WCW for punishing him for getting over on his own? (Pause to encourage Rusev Day chants) Congratulations, you've become WCW you sack of shit!"
  7. The other one is Live and Let Die I hope. Young Jane Seymour. Yaphet motherfucking Kotto. The 7Up "Uncola" guy as Baron Samedi. Young Jane Seymour. It's a fucking blaxploitation Bond movie. The Wings theme. Gloria Hendry. Young Jane Seymour. Fred Williamson's dad from Hell Up In Harlem as the henchman with the claw hand. The New Orleans funeral set piece. Hard to beat that...
  8. Oh btw I love this shit. I unapologetically loved worked shooty bullshit. And I been wanting a real promotion war between WWE and AEW for a while, but Tony keeps playing the high road horseshit instead of having Moxley or Rusev or Keith Lee or Toni Storm or whoever do a scorched earth anti-WWE promo. Other than Punk taking some lightweight shots, the worst we've gotten is Serena Deeb (rightfully) calling Vince, Johnny, and Bucky creepy old men for making her get implants. If Tony won't go Bischoff on his own, maybe Punk can coax it out of him...
  9. If you liked the "they don't like each other in real life" worked shootiness of Seth-Cody, you're gonna love this program pal...
  10. As a Phil's fan, I hope so. Case against him is obviously the short prime due to injuries. Case for him is that during that 5-6 year prime I believe he had the second-best WAR in all of MLB after Pujols, and far better than any other 2nd baseman. Case to be made he's the best 2nd baseman of the 00's. Also had intangibles of being seen as a great clubhouse leader even after his on-field abilities diminished.
  11. Cobra Commander beat you to it unfortunately... That means he must be the cool-ass Marvel comic Cobra Commander who was a disgruntled car salesman that funded Cobra through pyramid schemes, not the lame-ass cartoon Cobra Commander who was a scientist from the techno-organic underworld of Cobra-La. Literally the only thing he had going for him was Chris Latta...
  12. At least he didn't get in before Ron Santo.
  13. One of whom is future Oscar nominee David Paymer...
  14. Easily the best thing about Ghostbusters II is Kurt "Brell from No Holds Barred" Fuller taking on the Atherton role as the the boys' political antagonist...
  15. Well, my team won. My cardiovascular health lost, but my team won...
  16. Does Chad Fortune have a daughter? Prepare for Tekno Team 3000!
  17. We'll be getting that "Scarecrow & Mrs. King" movie any day now...
  18. Multiple news sites are reporting that Bobby Knight has died.
  19. I vaguely remember seeing this flick on TV in a hotel room while I was on vacation as a teen. Invasion of the Body Snatchers from a kid's perspective could have been an interesting idea. As CC says here, you can go down some seriously creepy roads with the notion of a child not being able to trust the adults around him (just look at what Bob Balaban did with Parents a few years later. Or listen to JT and go watch Cobweb.) But Hooper seemed determined to make something intentionally cheesy instead. And intentionally cheesy never works; making a so-bad-its-good film requires the earnest desire to make a legitimately good film.
  20. Not to mention Big Ben in House... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jM3YgJSSIQ
  21. Yeah DeNiro is the worst part of The Irishman, which kinda sucks since he's the lead. Semi-retired Pesci acts circles around him. Pacino may bluster a lot in his old age but he still has that gravitas. And Keitel shows up for one scene and knocks it out the park. But hey, to this day Mean Streets is still my favorite Scorcese film. I don't think he's ever filmed a cooler scene than Keitel dancing into David Proval's bar.
  22. I took off this weekend since today is the 47th anniversary of the theatrical release of God Told Me To, so I should have a bonus review coming soon...
  23. Hot Shots! was awesome. Charles Barkley and Bill Laimbeer showing up in the bar brawl had me and my boys rolling in the aisles back in the day...
  24. I mean, at the very least The Last Boy Scout should've taken off like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard did. It's every bit as good, it just fell prey to market saturation. And while Eight Crazy Nights is usually the Adam Sandler movie I stump for in terms of being way better than it's reputation, his buddy comedy with Damon (Bulletproof) is really quite enjoyable as well. And who doesn't like Major Payne?
