  1. Lot's of people disliked Iron Man 3. I mean, there is a whole topic floating around of "which was worse, Man of Steel or IM3"? My biggest point of reference is my buddy Seth, who is the biggest Iron Man mark on Earth. He typically refuses to say a movie was bad, and will always find things to like. He's kinda like Alan4L. With that said, I managed to get a "It wasn't a great movie" out of him.
  2. Heh, the Wolves aren't scary. Love is. As I mentioned before, they have next to no depth. Their bench only managed six points last night. If Dallas hadn't gave away so many second chance buckets, the T-Wolves would have lost badly last night.
  3. K-Love has a double-double before halftime. Gal Mekel is getting better with every game. Jae Crowder will be a superstar in 2 years. Wolves have zero depth beyond Barea.
  4. I still can't believe people around the net, and here claimed Suzuki was the reason their Title match was so good. Look I like Suzuki's look, and character, but he's a fucking bore to watch in the ring. And he's been a fucking bore since that match. I'm in the same boat with Minoru. I love the IDEA of Suzuki, but the execution is typically lacking, unless he is in there with someone that can really work with him. He and Nagata usually work well together, the Tanahashi match worked because Tanahashi can carry just about anyone, and oddly enough, I liked the Yano matches. I can't stand Yano, but I found myself liking those matches just because of how absurd they were.
  5. I meant a "thing" as in, it will be harped on by the media moreso than usual, and the league will notice. I mean, that tactic has been around since Shaq was in Orlando(possibly earlier, but I'm not THAT old), but there has never been a huge fuss. However, this year it's happening to what is supposed to be an NBA powerhouse team, and we know how the league office feels about protecting superstar teams.
  6. I get the feeling that Hack-a-Dwight is going to be a "thing" this year. So much so that a rule change comes down next season.
  7. Wait, so they foul Dwight off the ball intentionally? How is that not a flagrant? I know it wasn't malicious, but they can't pass it off as incidental, or making a play for the ball.
  8. Sames. For me I can count Hogan, Bret, Macho and usually Cena(mostly out of spite though) as top faces I actually liked.
  9. I loved Hogan as a kid, and pretty much hated Austin in his big WWF run. I still love watching 80's Hogan, but you can't ignore obvious stuff. How could any wrestling fan hate Austin during that run?? I was 17 or so and only wanted to root for the Dean Malenkos and Eddy Guerreros of the world at that time. It was years before I'd appreciate brawling more. The gimmick seemed hugely redneck and anti-intellectual which bugged me, and frankly, I was a lapsed fan getting back into things in 98. In 91-92 at the height of my kid fandom, I'd been really into Stunning Steve, if not rooting for him than intent on rooting against him. He was a staple as the TV champ then so I couldn't really parse Stone Cold with my memories. I didn't outright hate him like I did the Godfather or whatever, but yeah, I wasn't into Stone Cold at all.I had no use for Hogan when I was a kid either but was admittedly into Warrior and Sting, though I mainly rooted for guys like the Rockers and Pillman. More or less how I feel. In my late teens, I was more into the technical style, and I've always had the belief that good guys should be good guys. I HATED Attitude era WWF even back then, mostly for the shades of gray bullshit. I legit didn't understand why people liked Steve Austin. As I've gotten older I appreciate him more. Another thing is that at the time I felt like his work was so far beneath what he had been doing before he blew up in popularity. Actually, the more I think about it, I disliked most wrestling in 98-99. WCW was circling the drain, ECW was becoming a parody of itself and WWF was just unbearable at times. All still featured good wrestling though. Honestly, if 2000 WWF hadn't been so good, and if I hadn't discovered puro in 2001, I probably would have taken a pretty long break from wrestling.
  10. I loved Hogan as a kid, and pretty much hated Austin in his big WWF run. I still love watching 80's Hogan, but you can't ignore obvious stuff.
  11. Yep So we're saying that a back rake from Sherri is equal to him crushing a woman's tailbone with an atomic drop.
  12. So it was ok for Hogan to physically assault Sherri time and again, or maul Slick for a simple leg trip?
  13. I don't know that anyone would want to take on such a big expiring contract anyone, especially with no guarantee that he'd stay. All of the bottom level teams are in tank mode this year, so I don't see anyone wanting to bring a superstar into the fold.
  14. Because the other guy is doing worse Jesse and no more than five minutes ago you were cheering him. In all fairness, Hogan would often do really shitty thing unprovoked, or carry things WAY too far. Especially against managers.
  15. And that's a problem? It got REALLY tiresome at times.
  16. Yo, who has VUCEVIC?! You've got a ringer.
  17. My only problem with the Heenan/Monsoon pairing is that you could turn "Will you be serious" and "Will you stop" into a drinking game for most shows.
  18. I guess Indiana used up all the defense, because there is none in this Dallas-OKC game. Edit: I would not be shocked if Steven Adams ends up taking the bulk of Kendrick Perkins' minutes by the end of the year. That kid looked great tonight.
  19. Honestly, if the Lakers had some actual interior defense, they would be a competent team. Their offense isn't the worst ever. They cut a 30 point lead down to 13 at one point before it blew back up, but they had zero answers for Ellis driving the lane, or when he would dish down to Blair/Dalembert. They gave up 123 points on a night where Dirk only had 11 of them. That says alot for how well Ellis takes the pressure of him, but says more about how bad the Laker D is.
  20. Honestly, I think the first scene in the finale showed us that Jesse ends up ok. You know, showing him building the box like he talked about in rehab? He looked healthy and happy. I shotgunned the series in the last 1.5 months(which became accelerated due to my recent unemployment) and finished it up today. I can't say much that hasn't been said, but I don't think I've ever felt more engrossed by a tv show ever. If I were watching in real time, the waits between seasons would have been excruciating. The Walt/Jesse relationship was so bipolar. There were times where they would show you what Jesse's life would end up like if Walt didn't come along. Basically a self destructive junkie. Whenever he and Walter had a falling out, he always reverted back to that lifestyle and surrounded himself with people who used him for what he could do for them. Anyway, the only real point I wanted to make here was how perfect the music was in the whole series. It's up there with Scrubs and Cowboy Bebop for me in how it perfectly used music for each situation. I might also be the only person to ever mention these 3 shows in the same sentence.
  21. And getting blown the fuck out. WHAT DO THE MAVS SAY?!
  22. I liked last night's episode. Stuff actually happened. Now that we've seen what the proposal is, I really wonder what the cap on the series will be.
