  1. Adam Cole looks a lot like Colt Cabana these days. Tony Khan trolling on Dynamite >>>> Tony Khan trolling on Twitter As great as this show was, this episode of Young Sheldon might be even better. It starts with him trying to develop a unified field theory, getting upset, and having to take a break from science. I think we can all relate. He looks for the opposite of science to get away from it, and the school librarian tells him to try fantasy, to which Sheldon gets excited and says, "Oooh, that sounds intellectually bankrupt!" ?
  2. Surely "Stop the Matsunaga" is just a play on "Stop the Sheik," right?
  3. I said it was okay. Go pick on someone else, please.
  4. Everyone knew Punk would be there. Hence the 1.2 million viewers. But it's okay, I'm getting used to being wrong about everything. ?
  5. To reiterate the point, Khan clarified later on they only meant BIG names that would actually draw people in when advertised. Very few people fit that bill, and right or wrong, Cole does. I think you need to move past this one. Seems like a weird thing to get hung up on.
  6. No. After Sting's debut, TNT told AEW they can't just do stuff like that cold. If it's a big name (and for better or worse, Cole is a big name), they want it promoted ahead of time so it'll do numbers.
  7. Pretty sure they'd advertise a Cole appearance.
  8. Davey Richards was ROH world champion??? ?
  9. I'm perfectly happy never seeing Davey Richards again, thank you very much.
  10. If it's irreparable, I guess we should just give up trying to make things better? Nah.
  11. A theory is a model of how something works, not just any general conjecture. *parties
  12. Cornette thinks Moxley is the worst wrestler in the world. Not Omos. Not Lash Legend. John Moxley.
  13. Ah, but are the better matches always put on by the better wrestler? Remember wrestling is primarily live entertainment, and wasn't really meant to be scrutinized on tapes and smothered by star ratings.
  14. Nigel was world champ. Also probably not in fighting condition at this exact moment.
  15. I mentioned in a different post that I'm on another Discord that talks wrestling. Long story short, a discussion there today got me to legitimately wonder who is the better in-ring wrestler, the Miz or CM Punk? Miz knows exactly what his job is in the ring: get the crowd invested in seeing you beaten up, and don't do anything to take them out of the moment. Punk's stories may be more complex, but he's reverted to trying to do shit he's not capable of, like top rope ranas and the Buckshot Lariat, and when he botches them, it takes you out of the moment and kills the emotion. Judging just by working within WWE parameters, I don't think it's controversial to say Miz wins. Punk has the advantage of doing well in different styles, though, which is a point in his favor. We'll probably never see Miz in AEW, but if it did happen, I imagine he'd be an amazing, Steve Corino-like, anti-house-style heel that would make the crowds want to tear his throat out. So I lean toward Miz overall. Thoughts?
  16. Jericho made a big deal in his promo about wanting to fight anyone who's held ANY title in ROH, which means his opponent next week will almost certainly NOT be a former ROH world champion. Start running down the TV, Pure, and tag lineages.
  17. What a great episode. Best two back-to-back tag matches ever?
  18. Lately I've been fond of saying, "Wrestlers don't need writers, they need editors."
  19. Yes. The book's been out on CM Punk for 20 years, for anyone who's willing to listen. This is a guy who complained on shoot interviews about people who criticized his work, as if they had no right, then turned around and fixed all the things that were criticized. Intentionally bled during a match into the lap of a fan he didn't like. Threw Adam Pearce into a guardrail so hard it bashed my now-wife's knee, and when he saw that it hurt her, he shrugged his shoulders and did it again. After the gripebomb, some Punk-lovers in another Discord said, "Oh crap Dog, guess you were right about him." Did you think I was fucking making shit up? Yet despite that, I thought his presence in the company (before he relaxed and revealed himself) was an overall positive. Easily the best work of his career, and yes, as @Matt Dsaid, his newfound methodical, thoughtful style (a new trick for him) might have inspired younger guys who aren't as excited about Dragon as Daniel Garcia is. So I'm torn. I don't think good things should happen to bad people, but his work was good and ticket sales have slumped with him gone. It's tough.
  20. I woulda showed up with a better card, then. ?
