DECEMBER 2016 WRESTLING DISCUSSION... for now

You can give BIg E a solo run without breaking up New Day- UWF had Gordy on top while Hayes and Roberts were underneath a bit. -
DECEMBER 2016 WRESTLING DISCUSSION... for now

Was thinking of Benoit and how he ended up being a great brawler which few expected with the Sullivan fued. Has that ever happened in reverse- can anyone think of garbage wrestlers/brawler types who ended up showing they were great technical wrestlers unexpectedly? I'd mention Flair as someone who was unexpectedly great at garbage wrestling based on his couple of ECW appearance (the WWE ECW not Heyman's) -
RAW is Consequences of messing around with married women

The problem with ending feuds these days is without other territories , it's hard to rehabilitate losers of blowoff feuds. Some folks are bulletproof and that makes them super-valuable- people like Ambrose, and even Austin was like that- he lost more than a few blowoffs, but you only have so many draws, and losing a blowoff can damage drawing power. Even shuffling them off to the other brand might only work so many times. I'd argue it's even worse in the women's division because there's no secondary title. This is an area where WWE's lack of respect for secondary titles is infuriating- it would be a great way to elevate folks who have been blown off- after they love their main event feud, give them a run with the IC/US belt to build them back up: those belts should alternate between rehabilitating folks and up-and-comers. -
To use someone else's move like that, I think you gotta meet two criteria 1) Gotta be in a different fed obviously, unless there's some sort of angle being set up of move stealing, or there's legacy involved. 2) Gotta be roughly on their level. What made Disco/Juvi so dumb was that they were nowhere near the level of the rock- they were midcarders. Arn taking Jake's DDT worked becaue Arn was on Jake's level (how many other guys were using the DDT at that point besides Jake?) That said, I don't know if they were in at the same time, but wrestling missed out on a Barry Windham vs some Von Erich feud over the claw. Did Fritz and Blackjack Mulligan ever feud?

THe funny thing is the spot that screwed up her neck and eventually forced her out was on a TV show, not wrestling. -

This may belong in the what if- but I always wondered what if Lawler had been given Ronnie Garvin's NWA title run? -
It makes sense, especially when you throw in Miz's history with Cena. I think Sami would ultimately be the better choice though, as Bryan's avatar- especially if Miz and Sami somehow go 100% lights out- I want Miz to win Bryan's respect at the end of this somehow.

There's too many top-flight football schools right now period, and it's gonna get worse as the youth levels continue to dry up. Cutting down the number of programs will keep the sport alive longer by increasing quality. 74 is a decent number. It will suck for the Boise States and East Carolinas of the world, but FBS still exists.

I'd like the NCAA just reorganize the conferences: have 7 conferences of 10, and allow ND+ the Service Academies to be independent, with a guarantee in if they're top 8 and best independent, otherwise that spot goes to best non-conference champion, and an 8team playoff: The conferences would be rejiggered to bring back old rivalries, Maryland would go back to the ACC, Missouri to the Big 8, etc. Utah and BYU get thrown into the old Big 8 to bring it to 10 the SWC would return A lot of the old Big East schools would be back in a conference, alongside some misfits like South Carolina No more conf championships. 1st round of playoffs would be 1st weekend of Dec. Semifinals would be NYD, Final would be first Monday after 1/7. Everyone else goes to FBS: 8 teams in this scenario would still matter because the conf championships would be the only guaranteed way in outside of the wild-card spot, and even there a Navy or a Notre Dame sneaking into the top 8 could mean no wild card.

Yeah, Vampiro could have done that a lot less creepy and more scary. He sounded worse than WWE puppy Lawler.

I would hope she'd get Commerce. She'd probably find reason to want to keep the FEC around, as her business is dependent on net neutrality and a lack of data caps. -

I think you need to break the formula a few times here and there, and should do it once a night most of the time- just to condition fans that things could end quickly. The hot tag doesn't need to be made sometimes. Tag matches in particular are too formulaic. The only downside is if it becomes too often, folks will expect the one unusual squash a night. -
Didn't Punk also turn twice during his year-long reign? Also wouldn't be surprised if Russo had a champ turn twice during the same show.
-
Or the time Brock got tired of his lack of ability and just potatoed the hell out of him.
-
So two number 2's and Aerostar is part of the trios champs.
-
hard to win your conference before you've played a game.
-
It sucks because she's over as hell and tough as hell. Maybe she just has brittle bones down there. Wonder if she could tone down some of the flying to protect herself- or go to WWE- she'd be over as well in WWE as well even with a toned-down style.

Vampiro just sucks all the evil out of Canadians - it's why they're so nice. Surprised they didn't bring up Que Monito incident during that match.

This is why any place with tipping I go to- I only pay with cash. I don't trust tip places to touch my card. That said- my standard tipping is $1 for buffets, $2 for sitdown (for myself, and assuming a bill around $10)

It's also not like she was squashed either- she put up a fight then lost. Also remember, this is how they built Bryan up in NXT all those years ago- they had him lose in competitive matches against the top guys to establish himself as an underdog. Also got to see how much Nia improved. That said, this is WWE, so I expect them to screw up how they should do it now, but the formula they're doing can work. Raw's been Nitro for the past 2-3 years anyways.

Yep, I can also find old World of Sport stuff, or things that I haven't seen before. Yes, the WWE library is worth it, but there are alternatives. Plus I got 2 hours of non-WWE TV a week to watch if I want it, even if that is kinda meh right now.
