  1. This is a great and concise summary of what happened.
  2. The more successful the Thunder are, the less likely he is moving anywhere.
  3. Man.... these semis have been really painful for me. I can't root for the Warriors. I can't root for the Thunder. I can't root for the Cavs (Richard Jefferson shall not get a ring!) and I have no faith in the Raptors. What's a defeated Spurs fan to do?
  4. As someone who is invested in the Stark story line and sees everything else (except for Dany but I don't really care about her story arc) on the periphery, the direwolves dropping like flies is a real kick to the nuts. When Lady was killed and when the Red Wedding happened, those felt like huge moments. Rickon's dog was killed off camera and Summer died moments before the big Hodor death which overshadowed the direwolf death. I always imagined the direwolves possibly dying in the big battle at the end of the story... not going out with a whimper. I read that they are killing them off to save on the CGI budget. If that is the only reason, that fucking sucks.
  5. The Warriors have the best record in NBA history and aren't supposed to lose Game 1 at home. Of course people are going to talk about it! The Warriors are supposed to win. Why should people talk about the expected when it is the unexpected that really interests people.
  6. I think at least two of those characters will be dead in the end. I haven't decided which two yet.
  7. I'll take Hardhome every day of the week.
  8. I think they are going to end the Bolton story arc first. The White Walkers and Others will cross the wall... but I think that is next season.
  9. The difference, as pointed out in the post-show thing at the end of the episode is that she now has the entire Dothraki kneeling before her, not just one little group. I don't think they have dropped it yet with Davos and Mel. These two have been in a tug of war battle for Stannis for so long, it has now shifted to Jon Snow. One of them is going to kill the other before the end. If Tyrion gets burned, it could always prove once and for all if he is one part of the three headed dragon
  10. I thought tonight's episodes moved things forward quite nicely. It reintroduced Littlefinger. Sansa and Jon Snow were reunited plus we got the Pink Letter. Dany gets to be Queen of the Dothraki again and it feels like they are going to wrap up the High Sparrow stuff soon with the unholy Lannister-Martel alliance. I also liked that Davos finally questioned Mel about Shireen and how Brianne finally confirmed Stannis is dead so we can put that dog down for good. Nice ending with the Dany throwback to Season One. I really wish Tyrion was back in Westeros where he belonged and in the thick of the things instead of being this periphery character he has been for the last two seasons. I was bummed to see that Wildling chick die (forgot her name) but we knew that would happen as soon as she popped up last week. No complaints with how they handled anything this week.
  11. Parker looked fine during the season. His role changed from the leading scorer to 2nd leading scorer last year to 3rd leading scorer on a team with 2 guys who like to go iso. He isn't going anywhere. He recently did an interview where he said he would like to play for the Spurs until he was 40 just like Timmy. If I find the article, I will post it.
  12. He will get one initially but he won't get one for long. As Kawhi goes, so goes the Spurs. When we lost against the Clippers last year, he disappeared also. It also reminds us why Tim Duncan is so great and can't be replaced. When everyone else wilts, Timmy keeps fighting and surprising us with good performances. He did the same thing against the Clippers last year. He was far and away the best player on the Spurs in that series.
  13. The Diaw-West combo has NOT been killing the Thunder.
  14. I know Pop is a coaching genius blah blah blah... but his refusal to stop using the Diaw-West combo for large stretches is killing any momentum the Spurs get in these close games. The Spurs let go of leads and let the Thunder go on scoring runs when these guys are in together and it happened twice in last night's game. I am not sayin Boban is the answer but he is 7 foot freaking 3 and can crowd the paint and grab a rebound away from Kanter or Adams. At the very least, they need to stagger LMA and Duncan so one is on the floor at all times. I think I wrorte the exact same paragraph after the first game of the season.
  15. Thee difference is when TImmy hangs em up, his team is in a good place to continue the winning tradition. The Lakers are rebuilding and Kobe actively scared free agents away from the Lakers the last couple of year.
  16. Timmy is only making 5 mil a year.
  17. We see this in wrestling all the time. Sometimes, the best story to tell is the most obvious one. Long live Jon Snow... Savior of Westeros.
  18. So sad but the Spurs have seen this before.
  19. Ibaka had a good offensive game because the Spurs let him shoot from outside. I don't think he made one basket in the paint. They made KD and Westbrook work hard and made Ibaka the 1st option. Defensively, he had 2 rebounds and 0 blocks. He also got abused by Aldridge. In the past, the Spurs feared Ibaka. In game one, he was feasted on.
  20. Great episode. I don't ask for much from this show.... some witty dialogue, the occasional murder, some war stuff and political maneuvering. Plus, the ending...
  21. The worst thing to happen to the Thunder was failing to address their defensive deficiencies and relying on Ibaka who is not the defensive force he once was.
  22. Until the final buzzer of the last game goes off, I won;t discount the Thunder. However, Charles Barkley was right... whatever happened to them tonight was a mental breakdown. It's like they forgot that these games matter.
  23. Really hyped up for this OKC-SA matchup. Because the Grizz were decimated by injuries, the first round didn't really feel like the playoffs in San Antonio. I like the idea of getting the worst possible draw last year in the first round because of the division rankings to getting the easiest 1st round opponent this year.
