  1. The Whitecaps goal is from a few years ago. Still awesome though.
  2. Think of how loud Nassau would be should the Islanders win game 7. And the yessing after a goal will be off the charts.
  3. At the risk of a ban: I'm hoping the Islanders win game 7 and then knock out the Rangers. It's been 21 years since the last Battle of New York, way too long and I really dig the Islanders.
  4. They've beaten the Wild in Minnesota already. They're not finished yet.
  5. Dude, we totally won coaching trade! I'm happy AV is doing well by you guys, but it was time for a change. Do the Rangers do the really, really long breakout passes that he was doing in Vancouver relentlessly? It worked wonders in 2011 but teams caught on and he didn't really change breakouts.
  6. Maybe it is time to make the nets bigger.
  7. Well, this series is getting interesting.
  8. Hah, I didn't even notice Vamp running around. Great stuff! And I'm with you on Striker. He's gotten so much better the past month or two and last night was by far his best call.
  9. Okay, I give up. John Garrett is the absolute shits and I never want to hear him commentate again. Sweet passing on the Nyquist goal. Oh, and I guess this is where we go "lol, Ben Bishop". Edit: Cooper's eye twitch and "wtf?" glare after that goal were great!
  10. Yeah, that rocks. A few gripes: why does he look like generic Naughty Dog protagonist? And I'm getting a little tired of the Assassin's Creed/Batman hand-to-hand combat system revolving around a horde of bad guys standing around watching you take them out one by one. Other than those few quibbles, I'm super impressed. The driving looks really tight and they've captured the Road Warrior feel by the looks of it.
  11. Holy shit, how did I forget to mention the greatness of Daivari paintbrushing Texano like a BYITCH?! I was marking out so hard for that entire segment. He looked phenomenal and Texano sold for him like a champion. What a great way to introduce a character aaaand give your heel team an excuse for dropping a fall in a match they were favored to win.
  12. Benning was the one who really pushed hard for the Seguin trade. Yeah, Chiarelli had to make the final call and decide on the return but that youtube video sure doesn't paint ol' Jim Benning in a positive light. Though, I'm not really a Seguin fan. Chiarelli is a huge step in the right direction for you lot, though. MacT is probably better off in a higher up position.
  13. Is he the GM or is he one of those new fandangled presidents that is basically a GM+? He's good but as a lot of people have written about, many of the key moves that turned around the franchise were done by Jeff Gorton, heir apparent in New York, during the summer before Chia was hired.
  14. I agree with everything NickMD said. Everything. This is the bestest wrestling show. Vampiro is king sized in everything he does.
  15. This has been the case since 2012. The depth just isn't there that they probably should've blown the son of a bitch up for real. Problem though: Benning tried to go half way on the rebuild/help now spectrum with the Kesler trade and the Sedins don't want to leave the city (neither does Bieksa ). So, trading Kesler for pure futures should've been the first step but that didn't happen. It's also clear ownership doesn't want to touch a full on rebuild because of how fickle the fans are here. Personally, I would've kept the Sedins and traded off most of the other veterans on the team outside of Edler and maybe Hamhuis (though I think he's pretty overrated and surprisingly Edler has better possession numbers over the past three seasons playing the same level of opposition) after 2012. I think the Sedins mentoring young'uns would be fine for a few years in terms of market interest (a lot of fans are eager for young talent) and it's still a viable option. You can't build teams through free agency any more - the key is the draft and patience. Look at Anaheim's depth. How many of those guys are homegrown? Emerson Etem is playing on the 4th line but he's a flippin' stud and should be getting way bigger minutes but they have awesome depth because they've drafted and developed well, so he can take it slowly.
  16. From TSN's article on Vancouver's shitty depth and how awesome the Sedins have been: They've been so good and the rest of the team has been soooo bad. Possession numbers also don't mean a whole lot in a 7 game series either, as their dominance hasn't really translated into the gluttony of points you'd hope with that kind of possession. We're starting to run out of "transition years" before they retire or go back to Modo before retirement. I still think they could anchor a really dangerous team if only there were some depth and we didn't have Bieksa/Sbisa playing 18-20 minutes (or any minutes).
  17. I fucking love this show. I sat there laughing and having a great time through like 75% of the episode. Angelico is fucking insane in the membrane. That main event was booked and edited so perfectly.
  18. Why aren't you watching Lucha Underground?!
  19. Remember when Tobias Enstrom was the future of the Jets organization along with Evander Kane? I'm excited to see how Eeeeehlers adjusts to playing against full grown menz next year. So, is this the second series Kesler has done well in? Only other one I got was Nashville in '11 when he repeated the Trotz Messier comparison on national TV within seconds of Trotz saying it (in one of the most Kesler of Kesler moves). For an alleged playoff warrior, he has had too few of these sorts of performances.
  20. And what the fuck was Byfuglien thinking on that 2nd Anaheim goal? That has to be an all-time bad defensive decision.
  21. Shitbum Blues fans need to have more faith. Or you will be Faithless Shitbums. And Tank is the best, man. The best.
  22. Through the grace of God, I'm sure.
