  1. I saw a lot of Jake Atlas's final matches before he went to WWE and I wonder if the flamboyantly gay wrestler gimmick might come across as a bit to indie for a national company (publicly traded as well). I wonder if they are just trying to figure his character out in a way that doesn't feel like stereotype. And I'm really glad that Nyla has a personality and character beyond just being trans. Wrestling has a real lack of nuance and subtlety to handle something like that and I think its best just to down play it and let her be a monster heel
  2. Cody is a good example of the benefits of working in different areas, kinda like in the territory days when guys could travel around getting experience
  3. I agree with this, but I have an issue with saying guys like Ultimo Dragon and Arn Anderson don't deserve induction only because they weren't a main event level draw. as if that wipes away all other criteria. I also feel that strong mid card programs (like WCW cruiserweights) can help the overall business but people sometimes seem to want to only focus on who's on top.
  4. I was gonna guess one of those RAWs with ECW on it in 96
  5. Do people put to much emphasis on drawing power? You wouldn't say Michael Bay is a better filmmaker than Bergman of Kurosawa just because he did bigger box office
  6. Did George South ever get a sustained push or a big run somewhere? If not why it seems like everyone talks great about him
  7. What was weird was he kept doing the move after The Giant rejoined the NWO
  8. Since the beginning of the Pandemic I've been watching/rewatching (since I didn't get to finish it on Netflix) Lucha Underground on Tubi. each episode is 45 minutes so kinda the right amount time
  9. Didn't Tessa show up in the recent WWE video game?
  10. I seem to recall Hall doing it in a match against the 1-2-3 kid, maybe the crybaby match
  11. I'm hoping that when ever the second show gets on the air they use it to spotlight the womens title/divison they way that Dynamite has spotlighted the TNT title WCW rings had "ropes" made out of cable under the rubberhose, WWF/WWE has ropes made out of rope wrapped in tape I belive
  12. If Mox needs time off to be a new dad. It makes sense for him to drop the title to Kenny to set up the chase.... it does feel like Page winning the title has been the story all along. Good long term story telling is something I hope AEW sticks with.
  13. Anyone think Shida might drop the title next weeK?
  14. I honestly thought Kerwin White was supposed to be a face after the first vignette, like we where supposed to feel sympathy for him cause he felt he had to do this. Similar to the pre-terrorist Muhammed Hassan
  15. Kenny described it as Harvey Keitel's Wolf character in Pulp Fiction. They guy you call when you need the mess cleaned up
  16. Top Flight was great, Really dug the NWA title match even if the interference not leading to the finish was great. Bloated past him prime Jericho hanging out with Elvis in vegas is somehow very fitting
  17. Could see Priest knocks out Gargano and some how Ruff gets the cover. Blind fold match was fun, that's the type of gimmick that only works if you use it about once ever ten years gonna rewatch both womens matches tomorrow. really good stuff even if Io hitting her chin seemed to throw off the match for a bit
  18. Cody is starting to get to Dusty booking himself into the main event territory here
  19. This reminds me of John Tolos managing Mr. Perfect for some reason
  20. I'm not quite sure how you would qualify this as he's one of those guys who kept coming back but Foley? Hell in The Cell (taker and HHH), Three Austin matches in 98. Royale Rumble Street fight all right before he stopped being fulltime. Even his return against Orton was pretty good
  21. One other problem with doing a residency is the lack of ability to road test gimmicks and ideas. One of WWE's strengths was to figure out what was working and fine tune things before making TV via there crazy house show schedule. TNA had an issue of running in the impact zone where they had the same hundred or so fans showing up every week (for free I think) and trying to take over the show. They had no idea of what was working with anyone beyond those hundred or so fans. Both WWE/AEW have a similar issue with the reduced or non fans in attendance. A problem especially for AEW when they still seem to be trying to find their sea legs.
  22. Was TNA still on spike at that point? I honestly wonder if more people saw her on LU or TNA?
  23. I wonder if this is gonna be that second show on TNT as opposed to a show with matches
