NOTE FROM RIPPA - One of two films to make the countdown that someone had as their #100

Love this movie!  It's about a pair of kids who decide to stop talking until their dad buys them a TV.  It's just this perfect little funny, quirky look at day-to-day life in 1950s Japan.  Plus, there's farting!

77) GODZILLA (Gojira) (Ishirô Honda, 1954)

NOTE FROM RIPPA - This is not our highest 2 vote movie

I didn't see this in time to vote for it.  It would probably have made it somewhere in the 80-100 range if I had.

76) THE ASPHALT JUNGLE (John Huston, 1950)

157 Points (5 votes - Highest VoteL #43 Hollinger)

NOTE FROM RIPPA - This is the other movie that someone put at #100. It is also our first 5 vote movie.

Good flick!  I had it at #67.  Monroe had such a star quality in a relatively small role.

Had this at #91.  After all the hype about it, I was a little let down when I finally saw it.  I mean, it's good, but it didn't really blow me away like i was expecting it to.

This is another one I expected to like more than I actually did.  It was good, but I was ready for it to be, you know, transcendent or something.  Had it at #49

NOTE FROM RIPPA - I called this a weird tie because it was between two Fellini movies. I don't remember that ever happening before.
