Liam
What is the best software for getting .avi or .mp4 files from an .iso file? Also, what is the best way of then cutting the video up? I'm assuming whatever I would do would involve extracting it as one large file, but I'd then desire to chop it into smaller bits. Cheers
SolidGoldBomb
An iso file is typically a zipped up or compressed file for burning a DVD. You should be able to unzip an iso to a VIDEO_TS folder with a bunch of VOB files, using winrar or winzip or something like that. Then you would need to get a VOB converter program to compress those files into an avi or mp4. Like WinX or, vob to mp4 or something like that. AVS4you is one of the best ones I think.
Tabe
What you want is Daemon Tools or something similar that will create a virtual DVD drive on your PC. You then "mount" the ISO file on there and all your other software will see it as a standard DVD.

Tabe
Yep. Once you mount the ISO, it works exactly like if you had a physical DVD disc in a physical DVD drive.
Guest Stefanie Without Stefanie
Handbrake can also rip video straight off of the .iso.
Liam
Handbrake seems to fit the bill. Cheers all.
