What the Malaysian government has done is what we should have expected. It doesn't make it any less crappy, though.  They've essentially pointed to the Indian Ocean, said 'It's over there in that general direction, sorry for your loss.' and calling it a wrap of sorts.  What a crock--anyone can do that.  And sending the message via text message?  Yikes, you've gotta be pretty heartless or obtuse to pull that trick.

 

They're going to be sued into oblivion, and I can't say they don't have it coming.

I'm not well versed in Malayasian statutes, but I'd be shocked if there was a "text message during national tragedy" exemption clause.
