I don't think it really matters what happens to Jesse from this point forward. What matters is that he made the choice to break free of Walt's control at the end.

The only thing I would've liked to see that didn't happen, and it's not that big of a deal, is Flynn getting the money. Can't argue with the final shot they decided to go out on, though.

I was underwhelmed by Cecily Strong's first turn at the Update desk, but we'll see how she develops.

It was interesting to see how the show slotted the new guys into the roles of departed cast members. They're clearly setting up Beck Bennett in the Jason Sudeikis "everyman" role. And Kyle Mooney seems to be the new Fred Armisen postmodern humorist who isn't funny but you're supposed to appreciate how precise he is at being not-funny.

That might make sense if NBC had original programming competing against BREAKIN BAD tonight. But they have the NFL on Sunday nights. BB isn't a threat to that, at all.

It's like Lorne realized he whiffed on the cultural zeitgeist by not having Cranston or Paul on to host and dictated that Paul should be in as many sketches as possible.

God, what a perfect story for Kiffin's firing, too. A standard "Mr. Kiffin, Mr. Hayden would like to see you in his office" would be too good for that d-bag. I'm imagining him being carried off the bus by security while desperately trying to hold on to the door like Chris Jericho.

First half of the show was a HHH-calibre burial of the new cast members. Hilarious.

Fantastic effort by Bama's defense. I was really impressed by true freshman Eddie Jackson making his first start against quality competition. He wasn't perfect, but he was a difference maker out there. Bama has only allowed one TD outside of the A&M game. OL is still shit. Fortunately, we've got so many stud playmakers, it's inevitable that at least one of them will bust a big score. As long as the D is playing like this, that's all you really need, I guess.

South Alabama is a good program. Had a rough year playing their first season of a predominantly FBS schedule last year, but they're on the rise.
