  1. Man, LSU is going to win this game. When a guy like Mosely whiffs an easy INT and it turns into a huge completion to a big dude who never catches, you know fate is not on your side.
  2. Well, aside from the two fumbles, this is going about as badly as last year's game.
  3. Tana Patrick just made the play of his career on the goal line.
  4. Poor Florida. Getting run by Vandy now. I thought Boom would be safe this year, considering all the injuries, but if this thing totally breaks down, who know. Brent Pease should definitely be dusting off his resume, no matter what.
  5. Do you guys seriously not remember the public outrage over how the mythology of the X-FILES slowly devolved into idiocy? I remember it well.
  6. It's better than the first THOR. I do think it's funny that Thor spends the whole movie doing exactly the same thing that got him banished from Asgard in the first movie.
  7. Vince Gilligan wrote the greatest show of all time while making it up as he went along. It's harder to do that on TV than any other medium, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that approach. Lindelof & Cuse's mistake was in lying about having a plan. That said, you also have to understand the unique pressure they were under. LOST was the first big mythology-driven hit show since the X-FILES, and the wounds from how badly that show went out were still fresh on people's minds. The public basically demanded that they promise LOST wouldn't hurt them like that. If they had said, "No, we're writing this from season to season like every other TV show, ever," people would've started jumping ship a lot sooner than they did.
  8. THOR 2 was fun, though I'm not sure I'd call it a good movie. The plot is a grab bag of fantasy tropes, the villains are big nothings (Congratulations, Red Skull, you're no longer the worst villain in a Marvel movie), the Sif/Jane angle gets dropped before it even begins, the Warriors Three get nothing to do (the poor Asian guy gets unceremoniously dumped out of the movie in his first scene), and the first half of the movie is a meandering, unfocused drag, as they have to dump a lot of expostion to set up the plot nonsense while also, oddly, spending time developing stories with the supporting characters that they will drop as soon as they get to the part everyone came to see. But once they actually get to Thor busting Loki out of the joint, it's a fun ride. I think the big battle at the end is actually more high concept and fun than the one at the end of AVENGERS. It's like somebody watched JUMPER and said, "Yeah, this movie is ass, but we can do something with that concept." If Tom Hiddleston is the MVP of these movies, then Kat Dennings is their double secret weapon. She slays throughout.
  9. Apparently what they meant by "a young John Hawkes type" was a guy with a big honkin' nose.
  10. Maybe the fact that his name is attached to them? If that's me I am deeply invested in making sure those shows don't end badly.I understand how you might think that, but that's really not how the production game works.Do you think Steven Spielberg has ever wasted a second of his time fretting over the reviews for TERRA NOVA? Or FALLING SKIES? Or any of the other shit shows he's produced over the years? These guys put their names on a ton of shows. But if they're not deeply involved in the day-to-day running of the show, they could really care less beyond whether they stay on the air and keep the checks coming in. They don't see the quality of the show as a reflection on themselves at all.Abrams had almost nothing to do with LOST after the pilot. If anything, he probably got too much credit for the show, considering how quickly he bolted and left it in the hands of Lindelof. I think he has one co-writing credit in season 3, and that's it.He was actually more involved with FRINGE in the earlygoing, but even then he checked out before the last few seasons. Direct all hate to J.H. Wyman.
  11. Abrams had nothing to do with either of those endings, so I'm not sure why he'd be losing sleep over fan reaction to them.
  12. Shayne Skov goes Beyond Thunderdome on Marcus Mariotta.
  13. Oregon caught a flukey late wave of momentum off the blocked field goal and an onsides kick, the flukiest of all flukey plays, but Stanford had their number on both side sides of the ball and wouldn't have lost if they played 5 quarters. Classic case of the final score not accurately representing the ass whipping on the field.
  14. The fumble was probably the best thing to happen to Oregon cause it got them off the goal line. Washington gave them fits on the goal line, too, actually.
  15. See, this is everything wrong with Oregon. On the goal line and they can't man up and score.
  16. Tebow was ridic in that 2008 game. Probably his best passing game ever. Threw two laser beam TDs to guys who were NOT open.
  17. Ah. Yeah. Had to hop in the wayback machine for that one.
  18. I must be missing your reference, Niners.
  19. O RLY?Love ya, bro, but lulz, man. Lulz.
  20. Oregon players are CRYING on the sideline with a quarter to play. They are broken.
