I really hope the GM's vote in favor of extending OT to 10 minutes. 3-on-3 would be super exciting but I think that's too radical for the old school NHL way of thinking. But a 10 minute OT with the long change in effect would pretty much eliminate shootouts except in rare cases of Buffalo playing Philadealphia.

Seems a little awkward the Avs are just going to keep using Varlamov as if nothing happened. I guess the NHL could step in and suspend him but since none of the allegations have been proven I'm not sure how that would go over. Did you watch the IWL Trio Fantasia match? It seems like something you'd enjoy. I loved it live, don't want to ruin it by re-watching. LOL Didn't figure I would have liked it but they bled a lot & it was a real heated match. The old guys were busting their asses.

Kinda funny to see how hopeless Kaleta's appeal would have been if the NHLPA chose not to go for it. You would think they'd be all over this if for nothing else than to test out the appeal process. Not sure how valid this is or not but on MvW last week Greg noted there was somewhat of an outcry from other team reps to not waste time/money on an appeal for Kaleta. Ouch.

Not a chance. Sadly he's got no priors & the NHL desperately wants to avoid the new appeal process. Scott will get 5 & it won't even matter since his next game likely won't be until the back-to-back 9 games from now when the Leafs/Sabres meet for the first time since that pre-season melee. At least it allows us all to ask the question one more time: Why are the Buffalo Sabres still an actual team?

I like listening to Dave & Bryan argue but would prefer they save it for shit that actually matters instead of TNA which is not even worth talking about - let alone for 17 minutes.
