  1. ZSJ vs. Cobb isn't a TV title bout?
  2. I only liked split titles when the rosters were truly separated and both shows had deep rosters. Otherwise having just one champion works better.
  3. If you haven't seen the Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom press conference, go check that out particularly when it gets to Giulia and Tam Nakano. Go watch. You won't be disappointed.
  4. I think one of the coolest things about SANADA winning the gold is the sense of danger he's going to bring to every match now. He could lose it in a month or hold it a year. That's not typical in NJPW, it's something different.
  5. Backlund's title defense vs. Sgt. Slaughter 5.23.83 at MSG. The lead up to this is Slaughter had attacked Backlund and beat the shit out of him with the swagger stick, leaving welts on the champion. Backlund cuts a promo about respect before we get going. Backlund enters the arena and the MSG crowd goes nuts for him. Slaughter enters to his theme. Big fight feel. Backlund gets off to a hot start and Slaughter is bumping around like a madman as he usually would and the match carries on from there but man, loved this too.
  6. I think he's signed. We just saw FTR sell this idea they were about to be "free agents" and do all this shooty shit online only to find out that not only are they signed but they had re-signed back in November. Working the sheets isn't exactly my idea of fun, I wish Tony would just stop with all that.
  7. Rhea and Charlotte was really good but I'd have it as the 4th best match on the card. I don't really do star ratings, to me what takes it down a bit is the few opening sequences where there wasn't much going on and it wasn't a slow burn, there just wasn't much that played into the later sequences. Gunther vs. Sheamus vs. McIntyre is easily the best worked match and I typically don't like triple threats but they found a way to keep everyone involved. From a storytelling perspective, the two main events were off the charts awesome. I know a lot of people have a problem with the finish to Roman and Cody but man what a fucking awesome match from beginning to end. Anyone who says "just another Roman match" probably didn't watch the full 36 minutes of greatness these two put on. So many memorable moments and the crowd is on it's FEET the entire time.
  8. SD! was pretty good this week. It was rumored that Vince wasn't at the show so maybe that's why. It was mostly all action. A really good promo out of Dom again. Also, they are slowly advancing this Jey Uso story along. I was ok with this episode.
  9. I'd have had Charlotte/Rhea 4th actually. I preferred both main events and the I.C. title match over the SD! women's title match.
  10. Some Meltzer ratings from WrestleMania Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus ***** The Usos vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ***** Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley **** 3/4 Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns ****1/2 Logan Paul vs. Seth Rollins ****1/2 Dom Mysterio vs. Rey Mysterio ****
  11. Probably should have just went for the singles match. This is good stuff. I don't know how to embed here. Zande on Twitter: "I need a Mercedes vs. AZM singles feud. #njsg • #njpw • #STARDOM https://t.co/OpOsdZrioS… https://t.co/m2vKFO5FO2" / Twitter
  12. Maybe Sting can wrestle two retirement matches. One as Crow Sting and another as Surfer Sting.
  13. I don't remember there being much story to it other than they were family and trying to put that aside to focus on who is the better wrestler that night. Bret was a really big star in Europe those days and of course Bulldog for the UK so they just let them go on last and have a good match in the main event. In those days, the I.C. was typically where you'd see the better matches but rarely was it the main event. RE: Sting vs. Darby, I'm not sure they could have a great match but if Sting is really retiring I'm struggling to find who a great opponent would be. Sure they could do a tag match together but against who. Sting has outlasted his peers several years over, Muta is now retired etc.
  14. I'm trying to think of a realistic lineup Omega vs. Ospreay II - NJPW U.S. Championship Sting vs. Darby Allin - Retirement Match Punk vs. MJF - AEW World Championship Bryan vs. Sabre Jr. - NJPW TV Championship Jamie Hayter vs. Mercedes Mone - AEW Women's World Championship vs. NJPW Women's World Championship FTR vs. Aussie Open - AEW World Tag Team Championship
  15. Was Moolah actually defending the title all those years?
  16. I'd rather see Son. Seems like a great guy and I like the celebration he does after every goal.
  17. It's the UK... the guest star better be fucking Harry Potter
  18. I love that Tony Khan is crazy enough to run Wembley Stadium but realistically what kind of number could they do there? What number would be impressive enough to justify it? I'd love to see them pack that place but I don't know. To our UK posters, how big is AEW really over there?
  19. I thought it was posted here already but apparently WWE filed a trademark for "Gruesome Twosome". If that's about Roman and Lesnar all I can do is LOL. We'll see....
  20. I don't believe they are incapable of booking babyfaces. Bianca has been kept red hot for over a year
  21. The Gruesome Twosome. LMFAO... Fuck off. I'll stop watching just as quickly as I returned. Fuck Vince.
  22. Counterpoint: There wouldn't have been a blow off at all.
  23. I haven't been to a house show since I was a kid but they were always fun. In a lot of ways they are more fun but for whatever reasons as an adult I've been going to PPVs and TV tapings
  24. I thought RAW was a bad, chaotic show and I'm concerned that Vince is here to ruin the entire thing but I'm also not ready to pull my hair out just yet. Maybe it's because I've been enjoying the shows and especially the PLE's for the last 9 months, maybe there's some goodwill left and I'm willing to give it a chance. There wasn't any clear direction they took that killed it for me, it was just simply a really bad show. Bigger picture, I think a Cody vs. Lesnar feud can be enjoyable if there's some good bit of storytelling to go with it. Lesnar's turn was really random. I don't remember any seeds being planted at all so they really need to sell this to me. The Bad Bunny stuff was ok, I'm looking forward to him and what they'll do for the Puerto Rico show. Bianca-Rhea was weird but if those seeds were planted for a real reason, like a title unification match down the road, then hell yeah sign me the fuck up. So that's my positive spin on these things. Rest of the show wasn't really worth mentioning. It looks like Smackdown! will probably focus more on The Usos and their relationship with Roman after suffering defeat.
