  1. I'll talk about all the big Forbidden Door news in the AEW thread. This show was good. Hiromu's selling was awesome in his title defense vs. Yato. There was a good 3-4 matches anyway that I would track down, Junior heavyweight title, NJPW title, BCC vs. Okada six man etc.
  2. I just got done watching Dominion a little bit ago and HOLY SHIT.... Forbidden Door is stacked
  3. I've been watching a lot of older 80's house shows and often times the show did have the main event in the middle. They'd usually end the show with a decent match but not the world title. I don't think the title has to go on last but it's all dependent on the show. WrestleMania X8 always comes to mind where the heavyweight title should NOT have ended the show. Read the room.
  4. Tremendous show top to bottom. I think it was the best show of the weekend. Tiffany and Lyra are really good already. Bron and Melo are going to be stars on the main roster. The best match on the show and of the weekend goes to Dijak vs. Dragunov. It was super hard hitting, intense and violent. They fucking brought it. The length of the show was nice too. I think it might have been a bit under 3 hours. Very smooth and consistent. It brought me back to the old Takeovers.
  5. Overall.... my god this show was nearly 4 hours but it felt longer to me. It took about 2 hours for me to really get into anything it felt very much like a WWF 1999 PPV and that's not a compliment. The last two matches definitely saved the show. I don't think Sammy or Jungle Boy are ready for main events but all four men delivered, whenever it's MJF vs. Darby Allin it's gold.. Anarchy in the Arena took a few minutes to get going. I hated everything about that stupid ass band they had out there but after they ate double superkicks the match kicked into high gear and was great from there. One of the weaker AEW PPVs and Jericho needs to hang it up soon. Still looking forward to Forbidden Door II
  6. what the fuck was the deal with that singer's mask or whatever the fuck he had on. I'm sure it's been discussed so I'll read through the thread but what the fuck man
  7. That Sami Zayn moment when he came out and the promo was the best. Guess I was wrong... JIMMY fires the first shot. So I guess Roman is gonna beat the shit out of him now and Jey will have to save his brother again and finally stand up to Roman. Good stuff.
  8. I'm pretty surprised by this final. Both semis matches were really good. Should be a good final. I have no idea who wins now.
  9. It's interesting. This all plays back to Jey being beaten into submission and if you think about where most of this started, Jey has always 100% had Jimmy's back and has protected Jimmy several times. I still think Jey is the one who throws the first shot in the eventual Bloodline War.
  10. I missed most of Smackdown but that final segment was fantastic stuff. That was probably the best Bloodline related segment since WrestleMania.
  11. This wasn't a great show but Brock nearly knocking over the cameraman and then looking back and pointing to Ali "GET A LIFE KID!" was one of the funniest moments of the year.
  12. Yeah, I felt really happy for Willow and I hope Tony pushes her now. Also, you have to give Mercedes a ton of credit. Not only did she finish the match on a broken ankle but she audibled out of winning the match because she knew her ankle was done. She didn't panic. To think on the fly like that and do what needed to be done in that moment was special.
  13. was Andre The Giant really "undefeated for 15 years" ? Obviously the "never been slammed" thing was total bullshit.
  14. I'll also add that the Garvin and Tully feud is amazing stuff.
  15. I don't know exactly how old Garvin was in 1987 I know he was aging but him and Flair beat the SHIT out of each other in their series of matches and I could not care less about what people felt Garvin's position on the card should be. Those matches are awesome. Meltzer at the time underrated the hell out of them too.
  16. Omega vs. Ospreay II is definitely on the horizon but I'm not sure where they'll have it. Forbidden Door II would have been my guess given it's an AEW x NJPW show but Ospreay has said that he wants to wrestle a big match at ALL IN and Meltzer reported that he's booked for that show.
  17. This was one of my favorite shows of the year and not just because of Mercedes kicking ass. I think I liked every match on the card. -Juice and Fred Rosser really brought the violence with a SURPRISE appearance by Toni Storm. That whole thing was very entertaining and I think AEW needs to ratchet up the Toni Storm heel push, she's fucking awesome. -Six-man tag was tremendous. What a fucking pop Okaka got after delivering The Rainmaker to Mox. Shota looked great tonight too. -Ospreay vs. Tanahashi was really good as well. Tana can still go. No surprise here. -But the main attraction was the women's tournament and man did it deliver. Crowd was red hot for Mercedes and I hadn't seen much of Stephanie Vaquer but holy shit, she can go. They had a fantastic ~11-minute match. Willow and Momo was also pretty good although maybe Willow did a little too much bumping for her. -Main event was Mercedes vs. Willow. Mercedes Cleopatra gear was cool for the first match but the 'Snow White' gear for this match was outstanding. HUGE standing ovation and extended applause before the match even starts. "This is awesome!" chants before the first lockup. Mercedes bumped like crazy for Willow here. At one point Willow delivered a pounce and sent Mercedes flying about 20 feet in the air. The match was really coming together but unfortunately Mercedes injured her ankle and they had to go to the finish. Congrats to Willow, Tony Khan really needs to push her and obviously a get well soon for Mercedes.
  18. Really good show. The main event felt like a moment.
  19. I know we aren't supposed to comment on live shows but I'm just gonna say with two matches left Resurgence has already been a great show. A little of everything.
  20. Hopefully people will start to view Ronnie Garvin in the same light instead of complaining about how he shouldn't have been champion.
  21. I don't have to change my views on Punk. I've always felt he was overrated as hell. But I did want everything for AEW to work out.
  22. This was supposed to be a big day for AEW. Now I'm just confused.
  23. Sounds like there's no streaming attached or else I'd guess that would be announced. AEW really needs to get away from the super dated PPV model.
  24. Who did Jade piss off? Or is Tony still trying to figure out how to make the rest of the women seem credible vs. Her?
  25. So upfronts is over and we still don't know shit? Cool.
