  1. I'm watching Mania 11 and I have to say, even though no one rates it as a great Mania at all but it is really, really terrible. The Diesel/HBK match is pretty f'n awful in my opinion. Work wise it's a passable match but the story is so ass backwards and Nash was a bad face. It worked about a million times better once they reversed the roles for the Good Friends/Better Enemies match.
  2. I know Greene is a position coach in the NFL, but I'm surprised he never tried to be a pro wrestler after retiring from football. He seemed like a guy who legitimately loved the professional wrestling and was one of the most competent 'celebrity' wrestlers ever. Maybe he just felt that late 30's was too old to really get started. Same here. He seemed like he legit loved being in the ring and took it pretty seriously.
  3. I agree. Bigelow was great in that match. LT totally held up his end though. I liked the fact that he stuck to a lot of forearm strikes b/c that's what he was good at.
  4. If we don't get an X-Presidents-type cartoon on the Network from this, I'll be disappointed and will have no one to blame but you for making me think of it. I want a rehash of the Pro-Stars cartoon with wrestlers. Pro-Stars was a crime fighting team of Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson and Wayne Gretzky who was the wacky sidekick. I'd love if they redid that with Cena, Undertaker and someone like Dean Ambrose as the nutty but loveable sidekick.
  5. No worries. I can't expect spoiler-free for something that's 30 years old! So what'd you think of the show?
  6. And Kevin Green is knocking on the door. He was pretty awesome too. Reggie White, well...
  7. I thought T was great in that match. In my opinion it's between T, LT and Money Mayweather in terms of best celebrity wrestlers of all-time.
  8. One of my favorite matches. Their Nitro match where they beat the fuck out of each other in a parking lot was great as well.
  9. I loved the Orndorff/Tito match that started out scientific b/c they were both faces but got more heated as it progressed. The best is Jesse loving it when Orndorff starts being a jerk.
  10. I think I still have the studio produced VHS of that somewhere. I have to say, WWF loved the "face suplexes the heel into the ring from the outside and gets popped with a foreign object" finish in the mid-80's, especially with Savage. Overall I thought it was a pretty good show but had lots of lame finishes, especially a countout in the tourney final. I know you don't want to job Savage clean on tv but why book him in the finals if he's not going to win then? I haven't gotten to the finals yet. I assumed Savage was going to win, actually. But I am only on the second round. The matches for the most part have been rushed, which only makes sense for a short show. At least there's been some variety in the finishes. The most creative so far was probably Terry Funk vs Moondog Spot. Funk's WWF run is highly underrated.
  11. I wish there was footage of the backstage meeting where someone fell asleep on the taping day. Cause that Bad News Barrett bit was some sort of rib on someone who fell asleep in a meeting. Cole and JBL said "Hey that sleeping during a meeting is getting around" "What kind of an idiot falls asleep in a meeting?" "Someone who was out on Beale Street till morning?" Hahaha, I wonder who it was? My money is on Micheal Hayes. Isn't that what a Freebird does? Up all night. Sleep all day. And goes nuts on anyone who has the audacity to touch his van.
  12. Christian could use a beat right about now.

  14. Remember when Peter Griffin did one of his flashbacks and he was a dj for a public radio station who talked too close to the mic? That's what Regal sounds like.
  15. I'm watching Starrcade 90 and Luger's theme is intact!
  16. A question that almost always comes up whenever there's a shoot interview is "did you prefer working face or heel" and invariably the wrestler always says they prefer to work heel b/c they're in control. Have any of you ever seen an instance where a guy said they prefer to work face? Maybe Steamboat but does he really count b/c he never worked heel.
  17. The ladies call Darren Sharper "Bobby Heenan" b/c they're always saying, "will you stop?" to him.
  18. Whose promo was worse, Nikita's or Dr. Death's? At least Nikita had the excuse of pretending that English wasn't his first language but jeebus both of those were horrible. My favorite memory of this show is the fact that I read the results in the newspaper. My uncle used to live in Charlotte around this time and of course that was a hotbed of JCP. We went down to visit him and I was going through the sports section of the local paper and saw a full boxscore of the winners and losers, finishes and a write-up of the event like it was a "real" sport. I thought for sure most major newspapers did this so imagine my disappointment when that was the last time I ever saw something like that.
  19. There's no reason Gilbert or Zbyszko especially couldn't and shouldn't be pinned. Wasn't Larry Z slated to be pushed around this time? He won the Western States title not too long after this if I recall correctly.
  20. I had a friend in middle and high school named Bobby who had a passing resemblance to Ray Traylor. We used to call him Big Bobber.
  21. Judging by the WWE Network reddit, it doesn't seem like they've gotten around to re-doing the SuperBrawl's. I just checked out Bash at the Beach 95 and Man Called Sting is intact and Johnny B Badd's theme is correct for Fall Brawl 94, both events which were noted as being re-upped. In my opinion, the most criminal music edit is the loss of the Midnight Express coming out to The Chase.
  22. I think it's probably b/c you used to star in poorly acted yet hilarious spoofs of 80's shows with your Asian friend.
  23. Just checked Anarchy Rulz 99 since I watched that last week and all the censoring has indeed been removed, definitely cool that they are actually going back and making those kind of changes. I watched that one too. Taz and Heyman's pre-match tirades are intact. F'bombs and MF's galore.
  24. I kinda wish Macho Man would've been the one to slam Yoko.
