  1. Lmao I didn't notice they were coming to Hamilton until Excalibur mentioned it tonight. At the risk of being unfair to my hometown, I think the Hate Group Capitol of Canada isn't exactly an AEW-friendly city (unless Cornette is going to be All Elite for one night or something).
  2. This was one of my favorite dynamites ever. The four pillars thing at the beginning was exactly the kind of reset button I was hoping they would push to move the main event picture away from Danielson, Moxley and Jericho. Thought they did a great job of rehabbing Jungle Boy and even Sammy was getting solid babyface heat. All four guys cut great promos and I was left wanting to see all three of them challenge (and lose to) MJF (with of course Darby then winning the Eliminator tournament or the poker chip or whatever and finally getting the belt next autumn). Thought the Dark Order six man was TREMENDOUS. Thought OC vs JJ was super fun. Liked the main event more than I thought I would. Liked Ruby and Saraya's promos. LOVED the Shockmaster guy and Schiavone losing his shit over it. The only bad (and it was VERY bad) was Toni Storm having no charisma/seeming like she doesn't want to be there, and obviously QTV is horrible. Maybe they have some value backstage but I just don't see what QT and Solo offer, either in-ring or on the mic. So much talent in this company and they're making tv time for two of the only people who seem to get genuine go-away heat.
  3. Noah did this with Shiga's Openweight title which then became an Openweight Tag Title for Shiga and Kawabata and then reverted back to a singles Openweight title for Kawabata. So there's a precedent for the splitting of singles titles into tag titles, even if it's an absolutely bonkers precedent. Honestly they should have Moxley and Claudio beat down Yuta for being a homegrown scrub and join up with Saraya, Storm and Ruby. Then you do Blood & Guts as intergender but have the cages separated by a fence so that it's women in one cage and men in the other. I'm half joking but nobody would expect the BOC and Outcasts heel turns to merge, even though they're all WWE folk to a certain degree, and if Moxley cut a promo saying Saraya was the one that approached him and Claudio about joining forces it would give her more cred as a heel ganglord. So you do men's cage: Moxley, Claudio and... someone (Miro if he can play ball??) vs Kingston, Wheeler and Hangman, women's cage Saraya, Storm and Ruby vs Baker, Hayter and Willow.
  4. Dave now saying Bray will be back for WM. Darn. I kind of feel at this point that he's at the bottom of the list of people like Warrior and Chyna in that he's not only difficult to deal with as a co-worker/employee he's also excruciating to watch as a fan unless you're part of an extremely radicalized subset.
  5. Embedding never works for me but "QTV" (QT's new thing with Hobbs) just debuted their logo on the AEW IG and this angle is so lame even the logo looks for all the world like a misprint ("OTV").
  6. Their #1 sponsor is an online bookie service for degenerate gamblers so hopefully opposing women's hardcore wrestling isn't high on anyone's list of potential dealbreakers.
  7. Apologies if someone has brought up this possibility already but couldn't this be the All Elite Women's show that's been rumoured forever? Edit: oop the guy above me already alluded to it
  8. If it were it's own bottle city of Kandor show I would love it if Schiavone got the book, although he's probably already too busy. I've just always wanted a glimpse of what his vision for WCW was if Turner had given given him the job instead of the greasy guy.
  9. I'm kind of bummed they've chosen now of all times to rename the All Atlantic since Jarrett being something of a relic of the territories days just seems like a guy who would compete for a title with a name like the All Atlantic title. In all seriousness I hope when Statlander comes back she's an alien again and renames the TBS title the Intergalactic Title.
  10. Before I fully took in the whole photo I thought the inference was that QT had his hand on the shoulder of "major star" Jesse Plemons
  11. Maybe Cody got QT a job as the new Bill DeMott and a couple weeks from now Hobbs will have turned on him and there will be a segment with Wardlow in the ring and QT explaining in a prerecorded interview why he did what he did in order to complete Wardlow's training.
  12. Yea i read this in advance of making my post. Doesn't mean she can't or won't be back tomorrow though, that's kind of the usual way of business in AEW.
  13. Rebel returning and joining Saraya's gang and cutting a bitter promo on Baker & Hayter would have been a million times more interesting than QT showing up to fuck over Wardlow.
  14. Well I mean. isn't the next PPV 2 quarters away anyway? Unless they do a Forbidden Door.
  15. I'm wondering if they deliberately had Wardlow get screwed by a guy (very) low on the card so that he can immediately take out his revenge on QT and move on from Hobbs to MJF. This would be less than ideal booking for a lot of reasons, ie their way of protecting Wardlow would to be to feud him with Mark Sterling and QT Marshall. So it's not something I'm advocating but I wonder if it's where they've decided to go and they had to book themselves out of the corner they booked themselves into when they didn't just keep the belt on Darby and have him lose to Hobbs on the ppv. I was 90% sure we were building to Hangman vs MJF for the next PPV but if Hangman is still (STILL) feuding with Mox and Starks is feuding with Juice (& presumably co.) then Wardlow seems like the guy they have in mind to me.
  16. TK promo was a meme come to life. I love it but dude is out of control. There aren't many people in AEW who make me regularly fast forward/change the channel, but Juice and QT are certainly the first two who come to mind. That said, I will reserve judgment re their new roles until I see more. QT doing (presumably) more talking and less wrestling is letting him do more of the thing he's worse at of the two things he absolutely sucks at. FTR promo was great. Danielson prerecorded promo was great. A JAS/Elite feud sounds like a good usage of both teams. Hopefully they have plans for Garcia to go babyface soon. Orange vs Lethal was the third time around of something I didn't need to see even once but it was a good match. Moxley and Yuta seem to have the heel thing down but there's something just too naturally likeable about Claudio that prevents me from buying it. I was hoping Kingston would make the save for Hangman and Dark Order, although I'm guessing he'll remain in the mix after Supercard of Honor and stick around for a very bloody Blood and Guts. Speaking of natural likeability: Sky Blue and Willow as a babyface team is like maximum extreme level of natural likeability. If they become a regular team and add Stat to the mix when she's back you suddenly have a faction so endearing they make the Best Friends look like the Factory. I mostly liked the show. As was already said, not the hottest action but some new storylines. I don't even like Jay White but they shouldn't teasing the Bullet Club thing unless he's going to be signing (more likely we'll be stuck with Finlay showing up and working Starks at Forbidden Door II or something).
  17. What did Chuck used to do to kids anyway?? I only started watching AEW in 2021 and had never seen him before then.
  18. I was hoping Jungle Boy would open the casket first and Luchasaurus would be waiting inside to ambush him. Would have been a bit of a stretch for JB to still win after a dino sneak attack but as a visual it would have been awesome. Actually when Luchasaurus comes back can he please join the HoB and team with Brody?
  19. Even if we opened it up globally he would probably be #1 (with Suwama at #2 of course ).
  20. Lmao speaking of adult children. Do you use terms like "pearl clutching" around your kid Mr. Badass?
  21. Lmao yeah not to downplay the contents of the cup at all because it's just as bad in principle whether it was water or tequila but I am almost certain we're going to get confirmation in the next 24 hours that it was in fact water (again, just as bad in principle).
  22. Reading that Amanda Huber was the one out there trying to make things right with the kid makes me hope she's well financially compensated for whatever other backstage roles she has. Being called upon to be the adult in a situation involving adults behaving like children is the worst.
  23. Fair enough, and I do like the idea of them feuding with the Elite. Keith Lee will also need partners besides Dustin once Trench starts working and the Mogul Affiliates are officially a trio.
