Even going one step further, as part of obtaining the rights to this, you get a promo where Daniel Bryan brings out Ted Turner to lecture Vince McMahon on their generation's failings.     I'm curious as to whether whoever laid out the match had given set contingencies to those involved to call an audible if the crowd loudly shit on it. Let's say Ziggler kicking her in the face is met with huge boos, do they still continue with the finish train?

    Wouldn't a mutually beneficial deal here be a three way deal involving the Pels, Lakers and Celts where Kyrie ends up at the Lakers, Davis to the Celts, and there's an exchange of picks and minor players to make up the difference? Lakers can't land Davis without effectively trading everyone/thing but Lebron. Kyrie's a pretty decent consolation prize if him and Lebron have patched things up. Celts can't realistically land Davis this year without parting with Kyrie, and gives them room to include Rozier and Morris in the deal. Pels get better flexibility in the deal by picking and choosing what they get from the Lakers *and* Celtics rather than a horde of young guys from the Lakers they may or may not want?

    They should run with that as a reverse Money In The Bank gimmick. That yes, it's an advantage in theory, but it's a massive target on their back. Can have guys like Braun who are unfuckwithable, and others who have it go the Crash Holly style run and hide, or even like R-Truth just completely unaware of what's about to happen.

    Yep - 97 Rumble finish that whilst everyone's distracted getting rid of Nia, there's a fuck finish with Strowman/Rollins. Figure if you're going to go all in with Rollins, it may as well be at the expense of Strowman, and having Rollins going over him clean at Chamber has significant merit.

    It's definitely not as extreme but it's also in the context of nearly a decade of no man on woman violence in the company (what was the last time? Orton hitting the DDT on Steph? Assuming we're not counting the yearly Steph accidental bump at Mania), so we can safely assume that this was a deliberate booking decision rather than throwaway misogyny segment #3 of the Russo era weekly show. I just don't understand what the point of such a deliberate decision was either. I think like someone said above - unless you're running Orton/Nia at Mania, this isn't going to lead to anything.

    The Rumble is a better case of the "needs to be held over 2 days" argument than Mania I feel. After the women's Rumble, I was pretty happy to call it a day.....except there were still 3 more matches on the card.

    Haven't seen Roma, or At Eternity's Gate yet, but having seen everything else: Best Picture: I hope Green Book wins, but I'm more of a "anything but Bohemian Rhapsody or the total piece of shit that was Vice" wins. Everything else pretty deserving. I feel like The Hate U Give was unlucky not to get a nom here. Best Actor: Should Bale really get it? It screams to me an award for commitment to the cause in putting on such an absurd amount of weight rather than a reflection of his actual performance. I think Bradley Cooper deserves it for going out of his comfort zone and singing, something Rami Malek didn't do. Viggo Mortensen was fantastic. Best Actress: Flip a coin between Gaga and Glenn Close. I'm cool with either. Best Supporting Actor: Anyone but Sam Rockwell. That's an SNL skit impersonation, nothing more. Also thought Flea deserved a nomination here. Best Supporting Actress: Ehhhhh?

    I really enjoyed Juliet, Naked as a throwaway film to watch with the significant other. Ethan Hawke was really good. Didn't really get Thoroughbreds. Felt like a tribute to about 4-5 different films, and not much else.

    The scene where the 2 families meet to discuss the news is all time great. Some brutal one liners in that. I re-watched it again because it was just top notch. The rest was somewhat disappointing. I wish they'd adapted it so it were in linear fashion, personally.

    So what was the point of having a Becky/Asuka title match, let alone Asuka going over clean? From here, you either need Becky to put over Charlotte at the next PPV to set up a triple threat match, or Charlotte wins the Elimination Chamber, leaving Asuka to defend on probably the pre-show against *insert random battle royale winner here* which means she didn't really need to beat Becky clean?

    I'm surprised Bret never got his big win over Ted DiBiase. You had the finish to Survivor Series 90, the double DQ on SNME, a time limit draw on MSG TV, and even the fuck-ending to the 91 Survivor Series, but never Bret going over Ted clean.
