  1. Both Edge and Christian are established names. Whatever they're building to, they have to do in a way that features homegrown talent. If WWE isn't done with these mass releases we'll be seeing more very identifiable establed WWE names come in. Just with WWEs attendance and other business metrics going up, usually the wrestling business trends up overall. I think overall AEWs product is as good as ever in my opinion. They have had alot of set backs in the past year that I think people are hesitant about settling into it.
  2. They treat her like Chyna except she has competitive matches with the Women. They could've done that with people like Beth Phoenix and Jazz. They almost ruined her before they formed Judgement day.
  3. To me, I didn't really count that as his last match. Those early Saudi shows seemed like they didn't really count towards the story arch of WWE until they started having the main title switches on those shows. It seemed like Shawn went into that like it didn't really count to him either. It was nothing more than just a pay day. I'm sure sure if it was upto him, his last match would have been against AJ or Ricochet or some younger talent in a singles match. Given enough prep time. He could have a better match than that tomorrow if he wanted to.
  4. Why don't they just keep the current PPV schedule and just have All in, All Out and WrestleDream as a package deal. I like that most of their PPV are 2 - 3 months apart. It fits Tony's slow build booking.
  5. He was saying that while he was in WWE. Was it he that said WWE is a Parody of Pro Wrestling ?
  6. When she referred to WWE as the "Grandest Stage" I think more in terms of the Events like Wrestlemania. AEW doesn't have their Wrestlemania or SuperBowl Event were the have that one destination Event that's the be all end all. In some ways there is some advantages to that for a newer promotion but she's already been fantasy booking her Wrestlemania opponent. Guys like Edge and Bryan already main evented Wrestlemania and they've been in the ring with most the top guys in WWE. Jade coming in now reminds me of when Mystico and Amazing Kong got signed at the beginning of Hunter hiring people. I think them acknowledging her as the first hire of the TKO era puts pressure on them to do something with her but it's up to her to produce. Just like when Cody left, everyone wants to make it seem like something deeper that what it is behind the move. It's sort of irritating that people try to make more out her words than it is
  7. I forget Gulak is on the roster. I might go the Pete Dunnb or someone from the UK
  8. After LuFistos complaints about AEWs women's division, it's easy to speculate they have leadership problems. I can't say she's right but I don't think that's a reflection on the talent. Bryan Danielson I'm sure was a valuable asset to her as far. As learning but she's only has about 50 matches in 2 and a half years. You can only make so much progress wrestling once or twice a month. She wasn't even working once a week. On one hand it was good not to overexpose her. On the other hand she needs to be in the ring alot more. Even Kurt Angle who took to it quickly was working several nights a week before really getting good. She's not taking to it as well as Angle or Belair. Not everyone does. All of sudden we we just expect people with her physical presence and Athletic ability to take to wrestling so naturally but that isn't the case. As long as they don't throw her to the wolves , she won't be like Nia Jaxx where it doesn't matter that she's hurting people and her opponents just have to deal with it because her place in the card. It's up to WWE if they want to give her time to be good because they could do the same AEW did and protect her to the point where she doesn't get better and spend the whole run hiding her weaknesses because she has a good look.
  9. Didn't they try to get Nitro on TNN? Wasn't there talks even before the purchase of Vince pitching Nitro to Viacom but they didn't want two different wrestling promotions on the same network? Once they realized the network wasn't going to let Vince put WCW on the network they just decided to do the Invasion angle which was a last minute thing anyway. The whole brand extension idea came from what they originally wanted to do with having WCW as a separate brand. Don't get me wrong, even if it all worked out as they originally intended with WCW having its own show, Vince would have eventually have guys going back and forth to where it wouldn't matter anyways like Raw and Smackdown today. Plus you have Kevin Dunn getting in Vinces ear about not allowing WCW to get over on WWF perception wise. I'm just saying that I don't believe Vince bought WCW just to bury it immediately. I think he intended to make money off it first with 2 touring brands. Perhaps if those plans panned out then it would’ve been a better chance of some of the other guys sitting our the Turner contracts to get involved
  10. I haven't seen too much of Brogan Finlay but he's way better than his brother eventhough I've heard Dave jr has improved. I was actually hoping he would've done some tours in New Japan before signing.
  11. I say Jade was there biggest potential star but if they do end up with Mercedes Mone then they have a great replacement. The biggest start power they could get plus the workrate that is expected so that's a great trade off. I was hoping we could have gotten Jade vs Mercedes. I think that would've been a competitive match that Jade could've come out of a much better worker, especially if they had a series of matches
  12. I thought Bray was becoming a very serviceable worker before all the bells and whistles with the Fiend gimmick and stuff. I remember before the end of Rybacks run they had a really good match on a PPV. Also the angle he had with Orton as the odd couple tag team that lead to that horrible WM match between them. Every that lead to it was some of the best things since they brought back the split in 2016. He wasn't going to be anywhere close to as good as Harper Braun or Rowan who was becoming really good as well but in my opinion I thought Bray was coming along as decent enough to not need the extra stuff in alot of his matches. Maybe he wasn't confident enough in his own work which is another reason why it was ridiculous of WWE not to have the Wyatt family members together again. Especially considering how close these guy were outside the ring. I'm sure Bray pushed hard to have these guys on his side at the hights of his push.
  13. There's no substitute for experience. You have to get your reps in to get better. It's going to be very difficult for people at her experience level to get better working a few times a month. Even Goldberg having matches at similar lengths and being protected in the same way came along fine earlier on working TV once or twice a week and house shows. It's not just a problem she's having by not working enough. You can't even argue even the talent aren't working often enough to get better especially if they are only working talent that are about as green as them. I'm sure she learned alot from Bryan but it's not the same as actually having matches with the guy instead of just coaching you. I don't know how hands on he was with Jade but I'm sure it's invaluable lessons that may not click till she gets more ring time. I'm not writing her off like a Nia Jaxx who it dont see getting better but even she was pushed way too fast, too soon and she's pretty much at the position where she doesn't need to improve if she doesn't want to and the people she's working know they have to deal with it. Jade seems like she wants to get better even if it's not coming as naturally to her but that's the way it goes sometimes. Not everyone is going to be a Kurt Angle or Bianca Belair when they just take to it so naturally and fast. It's just doesn't happen that way no matter how great of an athlete you are but it does mean you can't get there. She definitely can. The PC system is built upon the premise that they can turn out any former athlete into Lesnar or Bianca but it takes alot more for these guys to take to this business
  14. TK has always talked about Jades star presence and how she'd turn heads and press events with people outside the company and being a good representative of the company. Regardless of how green she still is they have enough talent and resources to help her come along faster as far as her inring skills. They have some really good women's wrestlers but none of them have her star presence. Unless they get Mercedes they won't have that. Heck I think Trinity has more star presence than anyone they have regardless of how a good number of them are better inring. With talent cuts due to the merger. Who knows who will be available that TK and people in his ear might not want to pass on. If people like Braun and Bray got cut last time. It wouldn't be surprised if Women high up on Card get cut. Unless your Charlotte,Bianca or Becky, It's not telling who'd be available. It's just something about AEWs division that's not clicking with me. I think Lufisto's grips exposed some flaws maybe
  15. I don't dislike Nattie as a worker like alot of people but she's always been good at working with the newer talent getting them ready much like 1-2-3 kid. Remember she had a 15 20 minute match with Rhonda in first part of her run that was said to be most of it called in the ring. If she does go, this would be probably the second biggest loss to WWE next to Cody. She'll get much better in WWE and she'll be better off not going to NXT and just straight to the main roster. If you want to give her more seasoning let her work dark matches around the horn before putting her on tv I thought AEW could've gotten more out of her undefeated streak but at the same time I was actually looking forward to her having more competitive matches since her loss.
  16. I think losing all that weight should reduce the chances of her hurting people and she seems more motivated now than before she left because you could just tell that last year or so she seemed so uninspired and just cashing a check.
  17. Good for Swerve for actually having a rapper persona thats actually working on National wrestling tv. Swerve would have came back to WWE when they were 100% Vince free, Hit Row would've worked well for atleast a few months. I feel bad for the rest of that group because it wasn't going to work without any of the missing people especially Swerve or Top Dolla. The fact that they got rid of a third of them after the first few weeks and thought it would still work says alot of how they think about hip hop gimmicks. I'm not really feeling his music from what I have heard but he's making legit moves independently. He won me over with his work in WWE again Humerto Carrillo and Angel Garza on WWE pre-show matches , he can go and he has that star presence. Shawn and Hunter seemed to like him enough that I think he would have been used well enough on the WWE main roster. If some of the Hit Row get cut by the budget cuts then he'll probably convince TK to pick them up and be put with him
  18. Every that lead to it was some of the best things since they brought back the split in 2016. 19. Werent they already starting to turn on him at the first taping? I'm a Punk fan but he was never going to get the same reaction as the first dance
  20. When AEW started WWEs business metrics was trending down but a year or so post pandemic its trending higher than ever in certain aspects. That doesn't mean AEW can't start doing better business plus by proxy of them being a legit number two they've managed to get better TV rights deals because of WWEs value going up. My only concern about Comission is that they've been unofficially labeled and viewed as CM Punks show and now he's gone they've got to continue to do things to give it a different feel than Dynamite. Now they can have more Elite guys on the show so that's cool but the need to keep that old schoolish feel it's had
