  1. I was more of a WWF guy starting out. Before I knew about WCW I grew up watching WrestleMania 8 before I got obsessed with Wrestling at 8 years old in late 95/early 96. I didn't get cable till 97 so I only got to see the syndicated shows. So when I got obsessed with Wrestling I got to see WCW more often because of World Wide. WCW had more variety of styles, you had Regal, Taylor, psychosis. All these different types of technical wrestlers, Luchadors, people from New Japan. Although people like Bret, Undertaker and Shawn was already household names to me because my brother was already watching WWF before I got obsessed with Wrestling. I think WCW spoke to the workrate part of my brain more. Even though WWF had a much better main event picture. Even in the Russo era of the Attitude era. When I did get cable in early 97 I spent more time watching WCW, Saturday night, Pro , Nitro, World Wide, and then Thunder. By Spring 99. The only WCW programming I'd be watching was World Wide. I'd Imagine AEW is alot like WCW in a sense that they seem to book their Ramage show different from the Dynamite show which is good.
  2. Yeah, honestly when they split up Sanity it was around the time the split up Riot Squad and a few other teams. I'm used to WWE breaking up teams and factions because of their philosophy of Pushing 1 person they have to be separated from the team or group they've been associated with but WWE have done alot of separating acts for no reason at all not even for an angle
  3. Yeah it's crazy considering when ever they go over the narrative of Rock and Austin they highlight the fact that they got over by finding themselves in spite of their original directions or gimmicks they were given. There's no way the Ringmaster was going to be a gimmick that would've been a main event act anyway. Atleast you could see Rocky Maivia as a Main event act if the crowd would have reacted like they wanted that type of babyface. It might have worked 3 to 5 years earlier or even 10 to 15 years earlier as an ethnic babyface in the New York territory
  4. I'm still subscribed to Peacock, and I probably wouldn't have unsubscribed to the Network if I still had that. I'd rather watch I PPV a month than spend 2 to hours a week watching Raw and Smackdown every week for free. The PPVs are always decent at best worth $4 and most of the PPVs even if it's really good I rarely come out of them thinking like I got to watch Raw or Smackdown. I've thought about unsubscribing and resubscribing to New Japan World because I unsubscribed when the Pandemic started after Wrestle Kingdom and the Shutdown and I never resubscribed when they started back up. I was way more invested in New Japan overall but there seems to be to New Japan's with the American Contengents and the Natives in Japan
  5. Some NCAA rule that allows people to make money off NCAA athletes. Something that came into effect a few years ago. I'm not knowledgeable about sports but I do remember that there was an issue years ago about coaches making money off athletes and the athletes not getting a crumb but according to Haas because Pro Wrestling isn't really good sport Vince gets to make bread off having these guys under contract. I'm someone else can explain it better than me
  6. I was listening to Charlie Haas on Rene Dupree's Podcast and he said because Pro Wrestling isn't %100 sport by having college athletes signed especially collegiate wrestlers and football players etc they'll can make a killing off these athletes. I haven't heard Nick Khan mention anything about developmental outside of the performance center. Haas mentioned even if Gable Steveson never steps foot in a WWE ring, Vince is making money just by having him under contract as an NCAA athlete
  7. With HHHs regime basically done you think the idea of developmental in all these other countries like Japan and Latin America etc is dead?
  8. I've found this most interesting that FOX since WWE started airing Smackdown has taken the brand split more serious than WWE has lol. Vince obviously doesn't really care to stick to the parameters he's set up and changes every season concerning the to or 3 Brands. I think in FOX mind the whole Raw and Smackdown thing keeps the whole sports dynamic and makes guys like Roman or Brock more important by keeping them exclusive to a certain brand. With them continuing to trip the " fat" as far as releasing people and with the pandemic they'll have no choice but to end it all together and have one touring brand and developmental.
  9. Bianca's road to WrestleMania was perfect for her because yeah it was textbook booking but it was a win people wanted to see. Sasha was the perfect peron to have that match with. It's too bad Bayley was hurt because she would have been a perfect person for her to continue to feud with after WrestleMania Plus they both had good chemistry. Just like Big E and most the other recent New Champs, they don't do good at giving the new Champs anything interesting after they get the big win. Even with the low ratings and low crowds the fans are hot for these people finally winning the title. It's just no investment. Unless your Charlotte or Roman or Becky there is no real intention on giving anyone credibility. At least they've tried with Drew McIntyre. He was probably WrestleMania main event bound against Brock or Roman.
  10. Man I forgot about the trash bag thing, no wonder they are rolling out the red carpet. Why would Regal be bitter? I sure most of us would agree that he's one one greatest workers ever and probably the best eye for talent top but even he I don't believe would have imagined he would be in WWF/E 2 decades. Especially considering he credits them for saving his life. I don't see him being like Dean or Arn and just quickly moving on to AEW or New Japan. I don't think he should take his time to make his next move but I don't see him signing with AEW on the first offer
  11. Why is it that much of a stretch that Mickie James is in the Royal Rumble. They've had about 4 or 5 Women's Rumbles with a loaded roster between 3 brands 4 if you count NXTUK even before the Covid and had to pick through a random legend. Don't get me wrong people like Jacqueline, Lita , Ivory and Trish , its nice to see alot of these women get to go out there, for longer than 10, 15 minutes and interact with the current era women. It feels like even more so with the women they are just filling up spots. Especially as time goes on.
  12. I thought NXT would have started a "Tag Team Revolution " like they did with Women's division when Sasha, Becky and Charlotte moved to the main roster you had American Alpha and the Revival headlining shows. I thought they would have leveled out the tag team division the same way the women's division is
  13. You gotta believe there are probably alot of people from the Mid to late 90s in shock at how Hunter has lost favor in the company.
  14. What's the Joke? Wouldn't the real Judas be the Rock isn't he Khans home? Is he the connection between Vince and Nick Khan?
  15. The Rock ended up with the last laugh. Didn't Hunter and Shawn used to bully Rock when he started out? Everyone thought HHH was taking over for sure up till about 2 years ago. Now Rock is basically cosigning Nick Khan as if he's the one who connected him with Vince. Everyone says Hunter and Jeff Jarrett are 2 of the smartess people in wrestling politically but Rock if he wants to he can basically shadow run WWE without having his name tied to it. Cornette said Rock is "too smart" to Run a wrestling company. Yeah but he is still a big fan Wrestling as a whole. He interacts randomly with wrestlers in and outside of WWE from the independents to the UK to freaking Mutoh. Outside of those couple of years where he had that falling out with Vince early in his Hollywood run he's been closely associated with Wrestling, even if it's through his Mom, his Cousins , now his daughter. I can see Triple H having his brush with death and deciding to give up hid duties as an executive to be a Dad full-time. Triple H was always perceived as the guy that lived the business more than any of his peers. He molded NXT into what it was till the Reboot which happened when he got ill now alot of his highest pushed guys are with the competition. I listened to an interview Shawn did with Denise Salcedo where Shawn basically admitted that he had no control over the change in the system. I kinda felt sorry for Shawn Because you can tell he's taking on more responsibility with Hunter getting sick and you can tell he didn't want to lose Cole and O'Reilly and probably would've had better chance of some of them staying if not for Hunter being out and all the other changes. Long story short, Nick Khan has had more influence on WWE in 2 years more than anyone besides Vince I seen Kris Zelner Twitter that earlier
  16. I listened to a few Rene' Dupree's Podcast Cafe Depree after listening to an interview with Chris Van Vlient. He's very Outspoken about his time WWE. It's not really any surprise who he didn't like. It's cool to hear about growing up having his Dad run Gran Prix and he's a huge fan of Masa Chono growing up with him in the Territory. He also said because of Sylvain and Pat's close Friendship he was privy to alot of ideas but he doesn't really go into any details. He's got some very interesting stories for sure.
  17. Well you know WWE doesn't know what to do with people with that type of personsa. In NXT she was able to get by off her work alone. When she got to the main roster she was thrown into a bunch of 6 women tags and other multi women matches. I thought she was just as good or better than some on the 4 horsewomen at the time for like the first few month but if your not in an actual program it's hard for you to get over.
  18. I haven't been watching the TV week to week but I listen to F4W on YouTube and keep up through them. I didn't expect Liv to win at all but it was the match of the night. Becky is really really good but I felt like needed to see her deliver with someone that isn't one of the horsewomen and she did here. Morgan has always been very good too but this was her chance to really show it and she did. I'd like Liv to get her moment, but I also would like Bianca to get her Redemption for that debacle at Summerslam so it'll be interesting where they go as far as WrestleMania or Royal Ramble. I heard they are likely Unifiying the WWE World title and Universal Title. I wonder if they are considering the same for the Women's division. I think they've done pretty well with both singles titles as far as value. The woman's tag titles I lost track of since Sasha and Bayley had them lol
  19. True, but he was just a guy holding the belt within the WWE Universe. Not his fault at all. He was a great representative of the company. Not saying the ship has sailed on him because he could still be in the title picture and could end up getting a better run in the future. I heard recently that they originally planned for Cena to put him over at some point. I hear they are really close so I don't understand why they didn't just do him vs Cena at Summerslam last year instead of Roman. It would have gave him more steam when he did finally win the title.
  20. Regardless of how he lost, Outside of his actual title Win which is one of the most incredible moments ever. Nothing in between that is meaningful, I feel the same for E and a few others. Having the title isn't enough if your aren't booked meaningfully.
  21. To Webb Conns Point, I have no problem with Brock winning either but I feel like they didn't even try to get Big E over as Champ. I felt that way about every World/Universal Champ not named Roman ,Brock or Seth in the path 4 years. Big E winning seemed like a big Moment the crowd popped for but that was it. Same for Lashley winning, great moment even the angle leading to his win has great TV but it seemed like that was it. Bray Wyatt atleast during his first win he was settled with alot of Papa Shango esq stuff that killed everyone else but atleast they tried to get him over and the same with Drew until the pandemic happened and the audience was gone. Everyone from Kofi Kingston to Big E recently especially on the Raw side fail to get over, not necessarily for the lack of effort on their part. Big E's IC title win last year wasn't than a nice little rating on Smackdown at the time? The crowd was wanting it.
  22. Facts, the World title picture has been the best thing about the company overall because it seems to be so carefully booked and it isn't defended so much. I think the main reason Danielson vs Hangman Draw got criticism was because Page didn't get atleast 1 clean victory beforehand but understanding the booking pattern of the title it makes sense. I said it before, AEW is still educating its audience with their booking patterns and I think they need to stay on it. Jade Cargill winning the TBS title should be a cool moment but it's a secondary title in a division that is very underwhelming. When AEW started up, I assumed that they would skate by WWE and Impacts women's division but now especially with Omega being such a Joshi fan
  23. I remember just a few days before Swole's release there was a situation where an old tweet from one of Billy Gunns Kids resurfaced using the N word. She seemed very vocal about it at the time and Gunn seemed very apologetic about as he was probably a teen when he made the tweet. She seemed to not be so happy about how easily it was brushed to the side. I had no idea of her contract situation then and remember thinking that situation factored into her leaving
  24. I agree with alot of these old-school guys, ton many of the people of the current era really can't help themselves on social media. You barely ever see Roman Reigns respond to criticism on Twitter. You barely see him post on Twitter outnof character in general. Roman could care less what the internet thinks about him and I think that's his personality in general. It would make him seem like a lot less of a top guy if he responded to random people's criticism. That Sammy and Tay Conti post from earlier is another example of how guys today can't help themselves. Like just days ago they basically complaining about fans jumping to conclusions and getting into their personal lives then you post a picture confirming what most people assumed was true. I could care less about their situation but like don't expect fans to react diplomatic on social media just because you want to post every life event just like every other person.
  25. Facts, that was the point I was making. It's goes for the Bucks, Cody, Jericho and Brandi as well. I have very thick skin and I could care less how dumb these guys make themselves look in the shark infested waters of Wrestling Twitter man but what can you say
