  1. It's been so depressing to see TNA stop giving a shit about Joe (and vice versa) over the years. I'll always have a soft spot for Joe since he sort of got me back into wrestling when a friend had an extra ticket to an ROH card way back in 2003. I knew nothing of ROH then, but his match with Punk that night went on to be a modern classic, and I quickly became a big Joe fan. That being said, I don't know if WWE would really have interest. 35 isn't old by any means, but he's not exactly young either. His physique might be an issue for them (I know they just signed Steen, but at least he works in a shirt-- Joe's gear is shit). I hope it happens but I won't hold my breath. On another note, I got sucked down a Wikipedia rabbit whole a little while ago, and came across this (check out the last two sentences). Is this a reference or something that's going over my head??
  2. After reading this, I have a really perverse desire to see Kevin Nash address this in a shoot interview. "She couldn't afford an iPad case? I just got a dividend check for $170,000..."
  3. If this were EWR, I'd also expect the following: E-Mail From: Sophie "You are pushing John Cena too high up the card, and the fans are starting to resent him" E-Mail From: Road Agent "Big E and Rusev work well together due to their similar styles in the ring" E-mail From: Dolph Ziggler "I think I should be higher up the card" Agree 100%. With all the crazy bumps last night, that one sort of got lost in the shuffle. I haven't seen it mentioned a lot amongst the various opinions I've been reading all day. Kofi's life is dope, and he does dope shit.
  4. Snitsky would be a good for fit the Menagerie. Big Zeke would probably get added to MVP's stable because, well...he's black.
  5. Some days, I feel this way, but some I don't. It wouldn't be an issue if everyone had something to do, and the US title was used as a Euro/Hardcore/WCW TV lower-tier stepping stone. But no one in the lower card has shit to do anyway, and none of this matters
  6. Is Bethlehem, PA the building Raw used to run with that big ass "Fernwood Country Club" sign in the bleachers?
  7. As I've mentioned before, I've been subjecting myself to old Raws on the network for some reason, and I'm up to about mid-1994-- holy shit, Jeff Jarrett's gear is just the absolute best/worst thing ever
  8. Man I'm now obsessed with finding out the story about this belt
  9. ??? http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2taco_booker-t-vs-jeff-jarrett-wcw-title_sport Vince Fucking Russo, ladies & gents
  10. Yes! I went to a Velocity/SD! taping where he had a pretty good match with Danny Doring. I thought he looked great in the ring, and also liked that his name was in the style of the Metallica logo on his trunks. Also at this taping: I almost got in trouble two matches in during CM Punk's dark match for being underage drunk and yelling about how they shouldn't turn him into a deaf guy (I was 16 or 17, and am highly, highly ashamed of my behavior). Plus, as a bonus: Eddie Guerrero's Bedtime Stories.
  11. Let me see if I can get the afternoon off. Maybe we can all meet up and get a couple cocktails before hand.
  12. 6'2 is "almost a hoss" these days? I'm hoppin the next plane to NXT, bitches
  13. I thought I took a journalism class in college, but it was really just a fat chick from the hardcore scene disguised as an ad-hoc professor teaching us how to photoshop shit. I dropped out shortly thereafter edit: she was married and had no interest in me, before anyone says it
  14. I've never seen these pics before but they're awesome. I defy anyone to tell me that gimmick wouldn't be bad as fuck as Homicide or anyone else's muscle
  15. There's a casino near me which has a "mall" inside where that fucking terminator is in some record store window for like 4 large. WWE runs their arena quite a bit, and I haven't been in a while, so the idea that Roman bought that is real, real awesome to me.
  16. Didn't Brodus have a Homicide-esque type gimmick when he was in developmental? Maybe they'll end up shaking hands after and forming a tag team. Brodus is limited as a worker, but for some weird, odd, inexplicable reason, I think the guy could do well if used correctly. Murdering dudes on the outside in an early-Diesel type role could be just what the doctor ordered for that guy.
  17. I thought about it (if only because I've been watching early RAWs on the network, and I kinda wanna see live wrestling in the Manhattan Center) but ultimately, it's gonna be a pain in the ass to get to NYC straight from work on a weekday, and I'm pretty sour on TNA at this time. I honestly don't feel like I'll be missing much (which bums me out, actually-- I'm not trying to be negative for the sake of being negative).
  18. I may have touched on this in the omnibus thread, but I was home on a Thursday and caught Impact a few weeks ago. What the hell is the point of this Willow thing? Especially when Voodoo Chili and The Taz are going on about how it's "Jeff Hardy's alter-ego." Initially I thought it was supposed to be like a Midnight Rider/Mr. America type thing, but apparently that's not the case. Now, I haven't been a big Jeff Hardy guy in years, but the guy DOES have his fans-- why would you put one of the biggest name guys you have left (relatively speaking) under a hood? And STILL acknowledge it's the same guy? Just makes absolutely no sense to me. Regarding the ring situation, I think reading the last few tweets from Austin Aries speaks volumes (read from bottom up): Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 6h Please don't misinterpret #6sides as unsafe or dangerous. Decision makers at @IMPACTWRESTLING would never put us in that position. #4sides Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 6h Guess I accomplished stirring up some debate on #4sides or #6sides. We all have opinions, and I shared mine from a different perspective. Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 7h For those curious, I find #6sides to be far less forgiving on the body and harder to maneuver around, especially on the top rope. #4sides Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 7h ...this is the appropriate place for it, nor do I feel the potential risk outweighs the potential benefit for the wrestlers. Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 7h Please understand, I DO think the fans voices should be heard, and I'm all for an interactive experience, BUT I'm not sure... Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 7h What's wrong with wrestling? Letting people who've never done it, and never put their bodies on the line, run the show. #DoesntWork #4sides Replied to 0 times Austin Healy Aries @AustinAries · 8h So the people who don't wrestle are letting people who don't wrestle decide what I have to wrestle in? Great idea. My body, my vote. #4sides
  19. "You know my friend Jeff Jarrett?" "I thought he was Dixie's friend." "Well, he called at about 3 this morning, we got to talking. He sells DVDs over at the gimmick table-- 40 bucks." "40 bucks? Is this TNA?" "No, but the difference is negligible."
  20. Damn, I forgot all about Rick Fuller. He was one of my favorite 6:05 on tha muthaship guys. I would always play as him in that crappy Thunder video game. Checked his Wiki, too: In 2008 Fuller competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he formed a tag team with Giant Bernard. I'm sure that's old hat to most people here, but I'm not a huge Japan guy (I only started going through FMW like 3 months ago) so I'm pretty excited to check that out.
  21. I know this post is a few days old, but just as a goof (and because im bored and i've had drinks) I looked up the last Thunder card: http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/March_21,_2001_Thunder_results I defy anyone here to tell me that doesn't sound infinitely more fun than Impact right now.
  22. I believe that it was Patterson with the "boys need their candy" line. I'm picturing Patterson saying this while dressed up in some Party Monster-type rave gear
  23. Not only has it been suggested, but it's an idea that has been around since Regal was in WCW in the late 90's. Possibly the most fantasy booked suggestion in IWC history outside of a Cena turn. I don't want to be a dick or anything, but Cesaro/Barrett/Sheamus as stable seems like a fresh idea to me. Actually, yeah, Regal as a mouthpiece would be a pretty sweet idea-- shit, you could even throw Paige in if you wanted to. I vaguely remember the ideas you're talking about from when I was young, but I think this group would be a lot different than Regal/Finlay/Alex Wright or whoever the popular suggestions were in those days.
