You may be onto something, because the Rampage match being for the Impact title seems kind of interesting/too cute to me. Let me posit this: Christian beats Omega for the Impact title at Rampage by some sort of something (let's call it Cutler with the spray for now) immediately gets beat down by the Elite guys. Goes to Impact, does their TV/PPV for a few months, comes back down the line looking for either Kenny or whoever beats Kenny for the AEW title (Hangman by then?) and revives the "One more match" catchphrase. Only problem with that is it kinda kills the whole belt collector thing, but on the other hand, how the hell do you get three titles off the guy?

@Technico SupportThank you for clarifying the timeline with regard to the Cody match and Brodie's illness/passing, I didn't mean to suggest anything nefarious about it, just a total misconception on my part. @Jijiand @John from CincinnatiI'm actually somehow in the position of agreeing with you both, some really excellent points from both of you here on Cody. I tend to err toward the meta so I guess id probably *personally* enjoy that presentation more, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the smart business or creative move.

This is obviously not important at all given that people lost a father/husband/friend, but that match had no right being that good, and it still blows my mind a little that one of the participants was essentially in the early stages of lung failure. I'm in my "Exalted in Heaven" shirt as I type this, it's still so absolutely unfair and horrifying the guy's gone. Looking back, it's pretty impressive (though heartbreaking)

I was hoping Starks would be the one to turn babyface and turn it into a "legitimate" title of some kind, like a Shane Douglas throwing down the NWA title to create the new ECW title kind of thing. If we were betting, I'd guess the rumors of using it as a hoss-belt are probably out the window now as well, with the change to Starks. I didn't love the idea to begin with, but I thought it was at least an interesting change of pace to feature heavyweights in their own little box like cruisers traditionally have been. I'm happy for those of you who are into it, but trios belts are not my thing at all. If a three man unit gets hot, just Freebird the damn thing for a while.

Unless I've missed something super-recent, Angle said he turned down an offer from them for a final run, he's too beat up. Nothing we haven't heard a million times from a million workers, so grain of salt as always.
