  1. Yes. To me, the last line is what kills it for him, because of the assumption that he's talking about weight, when I think he was just making a stupid joke about her implants. Other than that, I have no real issue with anything he said.
  2. You've got to be kidding. I feel like that's a pretty common talking point. Fat Braden Walker in a singlet is still a meme like a decade later.
  3. That was my thought. Not a good look either way. Of course, the irony of this is, people will complain, threaten to boycott, yadda yadda... then happily turn around and continue watching a company (WWE) that has objectified, sexualized and slut-shamed women for years.
  4. The best part is that Dave was gonna shoehorn that comment in no matter how many times he had to interrupt Bryan. SH-SH-SH-SH.. SHE WAS A LOT LIGHTER!!!
  5. "Hey Phil?" "What's up?" "Um... why is my name on the bill?"
  6. Can I get a quick primer on what the fuck they're doing with Baron Corbin right now? I haven't watched WWE in roughly a half year, but I tune in and Corbin is now the assistant GM?
  7. Braun and Corbin on the same show seems redundant if they still have any big plans for Corbin. Owens/New Day/Charlotte/Zayn seem like sure bets to show up tonight.
  8. AJ and Nakamura on the same show makes any and everything else irrelevant.
  9. Several names in that thread no longer post here, and I think we can squarely place the blame for that on Roman Reigns.
  10. But it is funny going back to read that Final Four thread and everyone being like "wait, how the fuck did Roman Reigns get this far?"
  11. The reason is that the WWE itself - through its onscreen booking of authority figures and its off-screen perception by smart fans – is the biggest heel the company actually has. Wrestling fans in 2017 hate nothing more than being told what to like, so as soon as it became apparent that the "machine" was behind Roman Reigns, it was over for him with a large segment of the audience. Painfully transparent booking like Vince and Hunter being in collusion to stop Roman Reigns from winning the title (fucking really?) didn't help, and having idiots like JBL and Peter Rosenberg whine about how great Roman Reigns is and how stupid people are for booing him just makes matters worse. They think this stuff helps. They think the more people that come out and tell you how great Roman Reigns is, or the more Hall of Famers who tell him it's "his yard now", that all of the sudden we'll all magically wake up one day and go, "fuck man, you know what, this guy really is just the greatest." Fans today are too "smart" to the business for that kind of booking to work. So no, it's not for no reason, there's a perfectly valid and legitimate reason for it.
  12. "Nobody gets a reaction like Reigns so we have to keep pushing him!" is the biggest self-fulfilling prophecy in WWE history.
  13. No way dude, those weeks of backstage segments where Batista teased turning on Evolution, and they were trying to appease him were fucking great. It was like a little wink-wink between Batista and the audience, where we knew that he knew Hunter and Flair were full of shit, but he still entertained them anyway until he got what he needed from them. He certainly excelled as a heel, but he's always been smooth on the mic, even if he wasn't always given the best material to work with.
  14. Is that reaction a result of Reigns' performance, or is it a result of his push?
  15. Problem is that Reigns isn't nearly as charismatic or good on the mic as Batista was. We saw how good of a character/actor Batista was dating all the way back to the slow burn of him leaving Evolution. Reigns has never shown that kind of versatility on screen, so I don't think his heel turn would go nearly as well as Batista's did.
  16. Rollins-Hunter was really awful. Wasn't Rollins just limping around with the crutch on Monday? Then he comes out tonight looking spry, flying and jumping around the ring. Of course, Hunter eventually starts working the knee, but to me the story was is Rollins even healthy coming into it? Can his knee hold up? And he looked as normal as ever for the first 10 minutes of the match.
  17. The emphasis on AJ-Shane being a "regular traditional match" makes me think they're going to book Shane to actually go toe-to-toe with him chain wrestling or some wacky bullshit like that. SHANE'S REALLY BEEN WORKING ON HIS GAME, MAGGLE! LOOK AT THAT WRISTLOCK!
  18. Did a bunch of Bray nude pics leak that I (thankfully) missed? Kinda odd they haven't put their World Champion out in front of the live crowd in like three weeks now.
  19. Now that Kurt is older and atrophied with four DUI's under his belt, she'll be unable to resist his advances.
  20. What's with this rollercoaster bullshit for Wrestlemania? THE ULTIMATE THRILL RIDE?
  21. Let it be known, the crowd reacted much louder to the prospect of Undertaker-Braun than Undertaker-Reigns.
  22. Really? Roman Reigns, whose list of casualties includes Triple H, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, needed a clean pin over Braun Strowman before anyone would buy him as a threat to Undertaker? How could anyone possibly believe that.
  23. WHO COULD DOUBT THE BIG DOG NOW?!
  24. No, it's going to end with Undertaker bowing before Reigns and proclaiming him the new Phenom. And no, I'm not joking.
  25. I think the old man who fed Cole the line "You gotta believe in the Big Dog now, how can you not?" tonight probably thinks that.
