  1. The AL Central is, collectively, 32 games under .500. Four of the five teams in the AL Central are currently over .500.
  2. ESPN has also fired Samantha Ponder, citing "budget cuts." Doesn't seem like a great idea to fire two of your more prominent NFL voices a few weeks before the NFL season starts but what do I know?
  3. Game Informer officially announces they're shutting down. https://twitter.com/gameinformer/status/1819399257071214854 Yet another mag from many of our formative gaming years bites the dust.
  4. Since I'm not sure if anyone else posted it here already. https://youtu.be/y0ZoX4dBvwk?si=N-kJeG1RvMtCpTI_ The fact that the man managed to work "W.A.P." into a polka medley says that we're dealing with a level of musical genius that I can't even begin to fathom.
  5. Angel Reeth put HAHD TAHHHHHHMES. . .on the WNBA, baby.
  6. WNBA: "Well, we've been given a player that's been the hottest commodity in sports for months now and could bring our league to levels of popularity and relevance that we haven't seen in a long time. Just hope nobody says or does anything incredibly stupid or anything." Jemele Hill: "LEROYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY JENKINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNS" https://x.com/nypostsports/status/1792938271636341155 (Tried getting the Tweet to embed and it wouldn't, as is tradition.)
  7. No, but one of the pilots did mention something about dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
  8. It's a goddamn shame that Norm MacDonald isn't with us right now.
  9. Embracer bought Gearbox Software three years ago for $1.3 billion. Today, they're selling it to Take Two Entertainment for $460. https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/flagging-megacorp-embracer-group-is-now-selling-off-gearbox-entertainment-to-take-two-for-dollar460-million/ I'm not a business expert or anything like that, but that seems bad.
  10. I know Bobby Bonilla Day isn't until 1 July, but the Mets aren't the only ones still paying Bonilla. He has a second deferred contract with the Orioles that's paying him $500,000 every year until 2029. He's had this deal since 2004. So he hasn't just been getting $1 million every 1 July. . .he's been getting $1.5 million.
  11. Pete Rose wishes he'd had the good sense to hire an interpreter.

    2024 NFL Draft

The draft order has been changed to reflect this morning's trade between Houston and Minnesota, where Minnesota acquired the first-round pick that Houston received from Cleveland in the DeShaun Watson trade. Houston no longer has a first-round pick and Minnesota is now one of three teams that has two.
  13. "Hey, so Roland is this huge dude that looks like he could bench press your car. Who should we get to play that role?" "Uhhh, I dunno, Kevin Hart?" Other than that, I thought they did okay with it.
  14. https://youtu.be/lU_NKNZljoQ?si=g6kNgLW9_0NRFbzy The trailer is here! The trailer is here!
  15. Teaser trailer for NCAA Football '25 (or whatever EA is officially going to call it).
  16. The Omega update has dropped and the update page now says that NMS is "free to play." https://www.nomanssky.com/2024/02/no-mans-sky-omega-update/ I don't know if "Omega" is meant to imply that this is their final update with Light No Fire coming along here eventually, but it's been eight years since launch so it wouldn't be entirely surprising.

    2024 NFL Draft

The selection order through Pick #30 has been updated.
  19. https://twitter.com/chargers/status/1750304918316212430 Just posting the link because I, once again, can't embed Tweets/Xs/whatever. But the Chargers social media team wins.
  20. Per the NFL guidelines of not having been in the playoffs for two straight years, not hiring a new head coach, and not having done the show in the last ten years, there are reportedly three teams that the NFL can force to do the preseason version of Hard Knocks if they don't get any volunteers: The Bears, the Broncos, and the Saints. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2024/01/19/bears-are-1-of-3-teams-eligible-for-hard-knocks-in-2024/

    2024 NFL Draft

After a significant delay, picks 19 through 24 have been added to the first-round draft order.
  22. Peter B. Crombie, who was probably best known for his role as Crazy Joe Davola on Seinfeld, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 72.
  23. I'm just glad that so many others are getting the opportunity to feel about Aaron Rodgers the way some of us have felt for years. For different reasons, obviously, but everyone's still welcome to join the club.
