  1. Embracer bought Gearbox Software three years ago for $1.3 billion. Today, they're selling it to Take Two Entertainment for $460. https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/flagging-megacorp-embracer-group-is-now-selling-off-gearbox-entertainment-to-take-two-for-dollar460-million/ I'm not a business expert or anything like that, but that seems bad.
  2. I know Bobby Bonilla Day isn't until 1 July, but the Mets aren't the only ones still paying Bonilla. He has a second deferred contract with the Orioles that's paying him $500,000 every year until 2029. He's had this deal since 2004. So he hasn't just been getting $1 million every 1 July. . .he's been getting $1.5 million.
  3. Pete Rose wishes he'd had the good sense to hire an interpreter.

    2024 NFL Draft

The draft order has been changed to reflect this morning's trade between Houston and Minnesota, where Minnesota acquired the first-round pick that Houston received from Cleveland in the DeShaun Watson trade. Houston no longer has a first-round pick and Minnesota is now one of three teams that has two.
  5. "Hey, so Roland is this huge dude that looks like he could bench press your car. Who should we get to play that role?" "Uhhh, I dunno, Kevin Hart?" Other than that, I thought they did okay with it.
  6. https://youtu.be/lU_NKNZljoQ?si=g6kNgLW9_0NRFbzy The trailer is here! The trailer is here!
  7. Teaser trailer for NCAA Football '25 (or whatever EA is officially going to call it).
  8. The Omega update has dropped and the update page now says that NMS is "free to play." https://www.nomanssky.com/2024/02/no-mans-sky-omega-update/ I don't know if "Omega" is meant to imply that this is their final update with Light No Fire coming along here eventually, but it's been eight years since launch so it wouldn't be entirely surprising.

    2024 NFL Draft

The selection order through Pick #30 has been updated.
  11. https://twitter.com/chargers/status/1750304918316212430 Just posting the link because I, once again, can't embed Tweets/Xs/whatever. But the Chargers social media team wins.
  12. Per the NFL guidelines of not having been in the playoffs for two straight years, not hiring a new head coach, and not having done the show in the last ten years, there are reportedly three teams that the NFL can force to do the preseason version of Hard Knocks if they don't get any volunteers: The Bears, the Broncos, and the Saints. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2024/01/19/bears-are-1-of-3-teams-eligible-for-hard-knocks-in-2024/

    2024 NFL Draft

After a significant delay, picks 19 through 24 have been added to the first-round draft order.
  14. Peter B. Crombie, who was probably best known for his role as Crazy Joe Davola on Seinfeld, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 72.
  15. I'm just glad that so many others are getting the opportunity to feel about Aaron Rodgers the way some of us have felt for years. For different reasons, obviously, but everyone's still welcome to join the club.
  16. Because Mark Davis is going to back an armored semi truck full of money up to his house and say "Take what you want."
  17. Ron Rivera officially out in Washington. Carolina fires GM Scott Fitterer, so they'll have a new coach AND GM for their owner to throw shit at.

    2024 NFL Draft

Yes, the regular season is basically over, which means that fans of a bunch of teams can start looking forward to the 2024 NFL Draft. The first 18 picks have been determined, with the rest of the first round determined by the outcomes of the 2023 NFL Playoffs. Like every year, this post will be updated as more picks are finalized. For now, here are the top 18 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. The numbers shown after each team are the team's record and their strength of schedule. When two teams have the same record, SoS is the first tiebreaker, with the higher pick going to the team with the lower SoS. Chicago Bears (via Carolina Panthers, 2-15, .523) Washington Commanders (4-13, .512) New England Patriots (4-13, .523) Arizona Cardinals (4-13, .561) Los Angeles Chargers (5-12, .520) New York Giants (6-11, .512) Tennessee Titans (6-11, .524) Atlanta Falcons (7-10, .429) Chicago Bears (7-10, .464) New York Jets (7-10, .502) Minnesota Vikings (7-10, .509) Denver Broncos (8-9, .488)* Las Vegas Raiders (8-9, .488)* New Orleans Saints (9-8, .433) Indianapolis Colts (9-8, .491) Seattle Seahawks (9-8, .512) Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8, .531) Cincinnati Bengals (9-8, .573) Los Angeles Rams (10-7, .529) Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7, .540) Miami Dolphins (11-6, .450) Philadelphia Eagles (11-6, .481) Minnesota Vikings (from Houston Texans via Cleveland Browns, 11-6, .536) Dallas Cowboys (12-5, .446) Green Bay Packers (9-8, .474) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8, .481) Arizona Cardinals (from Houston Texans, 10-7, .474) Buffalo Bills (11-6, .471) Detroit Lions (12-5, .481) Baltimore Ravens (13-4, .543) San Francisco 49ers (12-5, .509) Kansas City Chiefs (11-6, .481) * - I believe there will be a coin flip between Denver and Las Vegas to determine those picks. Teams without first-round picks Carolina Panthers (traded to Chicago in Bryce Young trade) Cleveland Browns (traded to Houston in DeShaun Watson trade) Houston Texans (traded to Minnesota in pre-2024 Draft trade) Teams with multiple first-round picks Chicago Bears (theirs and Carolina's) Arizona Cardinals (theirs and Houston's) Minnesota Vikings (theirs and Cleveland's via Houston) I think that covers everything for now.
  19. Pittsburgh Houston New England Atlanta Jacksonville Detroit Tampa Bay Cincinnati Arizona Chicago Philadelphia Los Angeles Rams Las Vegas Los Angeles Chargers Dallas Buffalo Tiebreaker 1 - Hill Tiebreaker 2 - 44 Tiebreaker 3 - 237
  20. I don't actually have anything at the moment, but the thread needed starting anyway.
  21. Cleveland Dallas Baltimore Houston Buffalo Los Angeles Rams San Francisco Philadelphia Tampa Bay Jacksonville Atlanta Las Vegas Seattle Los Angeles Chargers Kansas City Minnesota Tiebreaker 1 - 7 Tiebreaker 2 - 247 Tiebreaker 3 - 165
  22. But it did give people the opportunity to talk about Aaron Rodgers all year, which is really all Aaron Rodgers could ask for.
