  1. Tua Tagovailoa dropped back to pass 47 times on Sunday. The Jets' defense hit him zero times.
  2. Man, I'm old enough to remember when Bieniemy was on the list of NFL head coaching candidates every year and every year that he didn't get hired a bunch of people would yell "RACISM BLARG LARG" and it turns out that maybe he just wasn't as great as a lot of people thought. People raved about him when he was the running backs coach in Minnesota when Adrian Peterson was there, because certainly coaching that guy was a tough gig.
  3. Kid should probably have a PhD by the time he leaves there.
  4. Ohio State is still going to the playoff. Wonder how many guys they'll be down for their first game after what just happened there.
  5. BAH GAWD KING, IT'S BREAKIN' LOOSE IN C-BUS!
  6. Quite certain that Gus Johnson just had a stroke in the booth.
  7. I'm envisioning it to be like that scene from Major League when Vaughn gives up a grand slam and the pitching coach is going to go out to the mound and take him out and Lou Brown stops him and says, "I want to see how he reacts." Vaughn then hits the next batter between the shoulder blades and a fight is about to start and Brown says, "I think you can go get him now." I'm not sure if Eberflus knew he was getting fired when they made him do the press conference or not. Either way, it was some nasty business having him go out there and do it.
  8. The Bears/Lions game has been over for five hours now and there's no reason that Matt Eberflus should still be Chicago's head coach.
  9. Somewhere in Aruba, Ed Donatell lights a cigar with a $100 bill and laughs his ass off. Seriously, if he wasn't getting 10% of the extension that Jones got after torching the Vikings in the playoffs a couple of years ago something's wrong.
  10. The MST3K Turkey Day lineup has been revealed. This year there will be celebrities sharing their favorite episodes as well as members of the cast. You can see the details here. https://www.iconvsicon.com/2024/11/13/mystery-science-theater-3000-turkey-day-potluck-of-the-stars/ The schedule is as follows for Thursday, 27 November. All times Eastern. 5 AM: The Killer Shrews (Emily Marsh) 7 AM: Overdrawn at the Memory Bank (Kumail Nanjiani) 9 AM: Werewolf (Bryan Fuller) 11 AM: The Castle of Fu-Manchu (Matthew Lillard) 1 PM: Space Mutiny (Mary Jo Pehl) 3 PM: Hobgoblins (Mike Flanagan) 5 PM: Samson vs the Vampire Women (David Dastmalchian) 7 PM: Gamera vs Jiger (Mark Hamill) 9 PM: The Final Sacrifice (Joel Hodgson) 11 PM: Manos: The Hands of Fate (Felicia Day) 1 AM: The Mask (Jonah Ray) Apparently this is the "return to streaming" for The Final Sacrifice, which is kind of cool.
  11. Also, if you're the mother of an NFL player and you want to steal a package from a neighbor of yours. . . 1) Make sure you're not within the viewing area of any security cameras, doorbell cameras, etc. 2) Don't wear one of your son's jerseys with the name "Momma Rice" on the back of it. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nfl-star-rashee-rice-mom-201500464.html
  12. Four weeks into the season, the Minnesota Vikings have scored more touchdowns at MetLife Stadium than the Jets and the Giants combined. Minnesota - 4 Jets - 3 Giants - 0
  13. My initial reply would have made a lot more sense if I could actually read.
  14. When did Andy Dalton morph into a random Hemsworth brother?
  15. Which was, of course, the game that gave us the greatest post-game press conference of all time. https://youtu.be/SNcBFZ26lcI?si=DmOgpVa0axe9m2yv
  16. Another fun White Sox stat that I saw on Twitter/X: Record this year when trailing after six innings: 0-70 When trailing after seven innings: 0-86 When trailing after eight innings: 0-93
  17. The AL Central is, collectively, 32 games under .500. Four of the five teams in the AL Central are currently over .500.
  18. ESPN has also fired Samantha Ponder, citing "budget cuts." Doesn't seem like a great idea to fire two of your more prominent NFL voices a few weeks before the NFL season starts but what do I know?
  19. Game Informer officially announces they're shutting down. https://twitter.com/gameinformer/status/1819399257071214854 Yet another mag from many of our formative gaming years bites the dust.
  20. Since I'm not sure if anyone else posted it here already. https://youtu.be/y0ZoX4dBvwk?si=N-kJeG1RvMtCpTI_ The fact that the man managed to work "W.A.P." into a polka medley says that we're dealing with a level of musical genius that I can't even begin to fathom.
  21. Angel Reeth put HAHD TAHHHHHHMES. . .on the WNBA, baby.
  22. WNBA: "Well, we've been given a player that's been the hottest commodity in sports for months now and could bring our league to levels of popularity and relevance that we haven't seen in a long time. Just hope nobody says or does anything incredibly stupid or anything." Jemele Hill: "LEROYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY JENKINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNS" https://x.com/nypostsports/status/1792938271636341155 (Tried getting the Tweet to embed and it wouldn't, as is tradition.)
  23. No, but one of the pilots did mention something about dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
  24. It's a goddamn shame that Norm MacDonald isn't with us right now.
  25. Embracer bought Gearbox Software three years ago for $1.3 billion. Today, they're selling it to Take Two Entertainment for $460. https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/flagging-megacorp-embracer-group-is-now-selling-off-gearbox-entertainment-to-take-two-for-dollar460-million/ I'm not a business expert or anything like that, but that seems bad.
