  1. I think this list is missing a Naito match, going from memory I remember thinking the 2017 G1 final between them was arguably the greatest match I had ever seen.
  2. "According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this was done to ensure the match could go on longer and not have any timing issues. It also allowed them to have fewer commercial breaks during the thirty minute match. Typically, they can get away with fewer commercial breaks at the start of the show than they can at the end."
  3. I'm actually from Venezuela but an honorary Brit since 2015 ?
  4. See, as a father and responsible adult I cringe at any heabutt spots like those or whatever the fuck Shibata was into. But as a 20/21 year old back in 2006 and 2007 that intensity was so bad ass to me. I'll have to give them a re-watch.
  5. You can probably add one of the Nigel matches here too, Unified seems to be the most popular but I always loved their match at the Driven PPV in 2007.
  6. if anything, the one production problem AEW has had a few times is main events running shorter than expected. With the importance of this match I wouldn’t take any chances with that and putting it first made sure nothing went wrong. Plus it gives the rub to the Womens match which was an actual World Title match getting the main event slot, I feel everyone’s a winner.

  8. Just rewatching Bryan-Omega now and a few things to comment: - Commentary as on point from everyone. Excalibur was excellent as always, you can tell JR has huge respect for both guys and was clearly impressed and energetic about the match. Tony has also become really good at pointing small details during matches,at one point he mentioned how Bryan might have landed over his own elbow doing a move and almost on cue Bryan grabbed his arm, it made everything feel very connected, professional and like a well oiled machine. - I hope they keep the Ramp-tron with no screens behind the stage, it still looks high tech but different than everyone else and I feel it could be the standard Dynamite look going forward. - I’m always surprised at how deceptively strong Kenny is, he picked up Bryan straight from the floor for that buckle bomb WITH THE GREATEST OF EASE. - I’m surprised at how invested the crowd were into Bryan’s classic stuff. Everyone was chanting “You’re about to get your fucking head kicked in”, “I’ve got till 5!” and popping huge to the Cattle Mutilation like they had seen all of those last week and not 12 years ago. - The Regalplex is such a cool move. - That power bomb catch/counter to the KNEE THAT BEAT JOHN CENUH was smooth af. Another sneaky show of strength by Kenny.
  9. Yeah I’m not hating on the Pillman stuff because it’s really only been a 3 week program and the guy is extremely young, hopefully he will only get better and better. I don’t mind these sort of of short spotlights for younger guys to see how they’ll do on the bigger stages from time to time.
  10. It’s incredibly frustrating, these past three weeks have really exposed him while my boy Griff is nowhere to be seen. He’s the real potential star of that team, lays into his shit a la Hangman and never gets too cute or stall unnecessarily. Pillman is still too cringey and guys like Punk or Bryan should sit down with him for some serious coaching.
  11. I agree with this singles list, the nice thing is that the only two "similar" matches here are Omega/Bryan and Omega/PAC, but the rest are all pretty unique so any could be your number one based on which style you prefer.
  12. I guess this is only 2021 statistics
  13. The arena and set looked awesome, I love when we don’t have screens everywhere, the stage looks much more badass. “IVE GOT TILL FIVE!” Give Bryan half an hour and you get a MOTY and AEW’s best singles match ever. This was so good and still felt like they had so much left in the tank. They didn’t go into crazy near fall third act mode and I liked that we didn’t have a silly finish right as clock counted down or something, it felt like they could have gone another 15min. This was awesome and I can’t wait for the eventual rematch with a proper winner. I like how Black’s eye seems to get more infected/EVIL as each week goes by. LMAO and felt bad at Arn slipping in the corner, poor guy. Fuck off Cody and Brandi, I’m happy the crowd was shitting on Cody. It’s fun seeing Sting wrestle and all the matches have been good, but he gets the win in every tag match and has now EASILY gone over Starks, Scorpio Sky, both 2.0 guys and now made Dax submit? I’d be OK if it was Darby getting the decisions, but there’s no way Sting should be defeating all of these guys, it’s too much. Main was good but the result was never in doubt. Just like Hangman and Kenny, I think no one is taking that title from Britt but Thunder Rosa. Both looked great tho and Ruby takes some bumps with a very satisfying SNAP.
  14. “Is it a crime to be in luuuuuv?” That main event was low key one of my favourite AEW matches so far, loved the story of the little man persevering by hitting and running. Good shit, loved it.
  15. They've shown Butcher and Blade working/hanging out in the arena's kitchens with aprons and everything a few times, unless it's just a weird hobby of theirs.
  16. You’re right, I just checked and it was about 2 months jobbing on Dark before he started picking up some wins. Seemed a lot longer, a lot of the pandemic era sort of blurs together in my mind so it’s difficult to judge how much time passed because every show looked the same.
  17. Bit late to the party, my random thoughts of the show: Fuck it, put Punk on commentary every week, he’s such a natural at it, make him and Excalibur the forever commentary team and let them grow old together. “Florida Man goes for a ride!” The Super Kliq will eventually be what the Elite was to the Bullet Club whenever Cole decides it’s time to kick Kenny out. Pillman’s baby face act sucks big time, he manages to get one up on MJF and stands there with the chair playing to the crowd like an idiot. Same thing last week, MJF harassing his family and he just comes out and plays to the crowd at the top of the ramp instead of running and beating the shit out of him. Some nice swagger from Jungle Jack, more of this little type of promos should help his confidence on the mic, baby steps. Pretty impressive how Jericho and Lambert shout some much shit talk at full speed without stumbling even once. That little video package for Andrade and his reaction to Chavo and the other guy has made him look pretty bad ass , I hope they continue with this no nonsense kingpin thing. “I didn’t know they let trolls across the bridge” I can’t imagine how Hobbs must feel going from jobbing on Dark every week just a year ago to wrestling Punk on his first TV match in 7 years. Believe in your dreams guys. “The ice water enema, Don Callis” Holy shit they really went all out for this Grand Slam week. “Throw the heater Ricky” lol was that JR? Gracia and 2.0 have sneakily main evente tons of shows in the past couple of months. I’m enjoying perma-bulk bruiser Moxley, this look fits him so well.
  18. Butcher looks HYPED AF to be back, i watched that 1min squash on Dark and couldn't stop thinking about Butcher vs. Miro
  19. That García-Moriarty match was a little banger, specially loved when Garcia kicked him a couple times right after kicking out.
  20. At least HH is better that whatever Vickie, Nyla and Ryzin? were doing for months, those were by far the worst bits ever in BTE.
  21. DO YOU GOT STOCKHOLM SYNDROME UP IN THIS SUNOVA B?
  22. PAC vs. Andrade was amazing except for the finish which kinda ruined my mood for a bit. Give this guys 30min with a clean finish ASAP.
