  1. Did Hart actually write the knockoff themes? A lot of the music library companies had knock off tunes, they'd kind of hint what they were knocking off in the descriptions.
  2. Any jacket match should have a jacket that looks like this one.
  3. WCW used music from all the stock music companies that were around back then, a lot those licenses would have just been for just television, ppv, and home video releases.
  4. The WWF missed the boat by not having post IC title run Honky bring on Master Fuji as a Sensei and doing an undeserved black belt karate gimmick..
  5. They haven’t played anyone of note and the teams that jumped them have.
  6. With the schedule they have played that shouldn’t be surprising.
  7. He would have needed to be on another team in his “prime”, the Bears were always going to be running team with a game manager QB in that era.
  8. The Bears haven't had a franchise QB since Sid Luckman and he retired in 1949.
  9. I think ASCAP finally woke up about licensing music for TV around that time, besides wrestling tons of local and syndicated sports shows used popular music and most likely weren't paying.
  10. Steve Garvey has entered the race to be the junior Senator from the State of California, so he’ll be saying a lot of stupid things over the next year. https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2023-10-10/dodgers-star-steve-garvey-senate-race-feinstein-schiff-porter-lee
  11. That's the one, its somewhat tangled in my mind with the MTV True Life and the glimpses into the indie scene in Beyond the Mat.
  12. Looney Lane was in one of those late 90’s/early 2000’s tv docs on pro wrestling, can’t remember which one though.
  13. They were all in the cartel together, none of them were rivals.
  14. The possibility of a 10-8 or 11-10 final score in Pittsburgh just ended, now it’s just a boring 17-10 final!!
  15. NFL Films used these clips and soundbites for Dick Butkus for ages, always loved the Deacon Jones and Ray Mansfield ones. https://youtu.be/Ou5Nn9FEaiw?si=MF_p-WMzCh-Q94UO&t=136
  16. He should have pitched in the bottom of the 9th in the 1992 NLCS! I still curse Jim Leyland for how he mismanaged the inning.
  17. Did Mean Gene actually wrestle in the AWA? I know he tagged with Hogan against Fuji and George Steele at a WWF Twin Cities house show in 84 or 85. While Watts is saying one thing on tv, you know he would have jumped at the chance to feature Mr. T in a match.
  18. He also worked the AWA’s Super Clash II in 1987.
  19. Was always surprised they never did a movie in the 90's when it seemed like every old tv show got a flick.
  20. Didn't think of that, they'll probably use Criss Angel or David Blaine for the magic portion, or they might dig up Elvis Presto! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqusO8PegFI&t=63s
  21. With it being in Las Vegas, I wonder how much of it will be Usher and how much will be a rotation of the big Vegas shows like Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and the likes of David Copperfield.
  22. At that time in kayfabe sense pro-wrestling was a form of "Prize Fighting" like boxing, hence mentions of "the winners share of the purse" once and awhile, the masked wrestler would be on the hook with the tax man, they wouldn't have been any type of employee.
  23. The southern promotions always over complicated the explanation of how masked wrestlers got paid. Why "we send a check to a PO Box and it eventually gets cashed" and not just "whatever masked wrestler gets paid in cash", or for a heel his pay is sent via wire transfer to an offshore account.
