  1. The All Confederate Conference is doing everything they can to make sure Florida State beats Pitt.
  2. I can’t remember where I heard this but it seems spot on, in the past 200ish years the worth of an ounce of gold is the equivalent of the price of an “expensive” men’s suit.
  3. He inspired a bunch of crappy coaches at every level that being a screaming abusive jagoff equaled great coaching.
  4. They wore green and gold entrance gear in Philly, they would have gotten booed and laughed at had they worn the Confederate flag stuff there.
  5. Green and gold were basically the Freebirds alternate uniforms, they'd wear them once a month or so.
  6. Paul Jones was also a channel changer for me once the Rick Rude-Manny Fernandez team disappeared.
  7. I had no memory of Mighty Wilbur even though I watched WCW pretty much every Saturday night back then, I've come to the realization that I changed the channel whenever someone with a "hillbilly" gimmick showed up on tv.
  8. I can't see Mark Davis being that creative.
  9. It's easier to pick up any verbal signals used on the field on the sideline, since the game was in East Lansing with no need for plane tickets or hotel rooms they most likely had multiple people in the crowd recording Sparty's sideline.
  10. Those Lions uniforms are hideous.
  11. That there was no roughing the passer call was insane, especially since they called a weak one on Pittsburgh earlier. Also, the refs must have bet the under for the first half, never seen a long discussion then an “offside” called on the kicking team.
  12. When Pitt has a bad team they always have a head scratching win and when they have a good team they always have head scratching loss or two, been that way since I was a kid. This game kills any hope I had of Michigan State poaching the gym teacher coaching the Panthers.
  13. I always wished Arn stayed another year or two, so we could have gotten a New Brain Busters/Different Colossal Connection with him and Haku.
  14. Did then WWE have a deal with one of the record companies back then?
  15. Yes, he’s the rich guy at the dinner table in Gangs of New York. He also did the voice over explaining 9 ball at the beginning of The Color of Money.
  16. He was the head of Geritol in Quiz Show.
  17. Wouldn't every venue be booked with Olympic events?
  18. Was Mad Dog and Glory a comedy, I don't remember laughing when I saw it.
  19. College Football is full of blindly loyal weirdos so can see this goof being a G. Gordan Liddy type and be willing to take the fall. Forgetting to "scout" TCU was also a drastic mistake on their part.
  20. Quaid pretty much used the same accent in Everybody's All-American, which I remember being so bad it was funny.
  21. The Sun Belt's bowl tie in's outside of the New Orleans Bowl are pretty grim, there'a a chance they could end up going to a better bowl if one of the bigger conferences like the ACC don't have enough eligible teams.
  22. Lance was a gimmick cousin of the Von Erich's, can't remember if they ever said he was Waldo Von Erich's son or just implied it. William Vaughn who played Lance Von Erich was some sort of star high school athlete from the Dallas area, fans who knew who he was would yell out his real name at matches. It's weird they didn't call him Will or Bill Von Erich, most people in the Dallas Metroplex knew Von Erich was a gimmick last name and that Fritz Von Erich was actually Jack Adkisson former SMU football player and local raconteur, there might have been less eye rolling by fans when he debuted and less blow black when he left World Class.
  23. The Rams didn't get robbed, yesterday was the first game in years where the announcers never mentioned the yellow 1st down line wasn't exact, so being few inches short of the yellow line doesn't mean Pickett didn't get the 1st down. The game should have been over after the pass interference penalty but the refs needed to keep things interesting so they called a bogus "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalty on the Steelers. McVay should have saved a time out, it blows my mind that coaches don't keep one in their back pocket in the second half for a scenario like this. Even if the Rams got the ball back they would have had to deal with Watt and Highsmith being unleashed on Stafford, I doubt they get more than one 1st down, let alone a touchdown, PAT(their kicker has the yips) or 2 point conversion. How much money did Darryl Johnston have on the Rams? He sounded like someone who bet money he didn't have on the Rams and is going to have his fingers broken later that night. Pickett was 11/12 for 152 yards in the second half, kid keeps getting better every game. Also, the Stillers are 11-4 in their last 15 games, a lot of those wins were ugly but they're still wins.
  24. Just saw that The Last Boy Scout was released in December of 1991, that's a weird time of year for a hyper testosterone action flick that borders satire. Also, I wonder how much Hudson Hawk bombing had people passing on another Bruce Willis flick. Last Boy Scout is ok but when it comes to flawed 1991 bonkers action movies give me Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man.
