  1. There was the "See you at home ... I mean, you're brother's a gnome." comment during the DX reformation, but I believe there was a kiss in 2007 during the RAW 15th Anniversary. Clearly it became official when HHH stormed the ring and did his angry face after Randy Orton gave Stephanie the RKO having punted Shane.
  2. I did notice that Owens seemed to have put weight on since the HHH photocall - clearly it doesn't overly bother them. Pumped for R-Evolution - slightly strange name - doubt it would happen, but HHH turning up saying 'Vince said I couldn't affect the lives of WWE Superstars, he didn't mention NXT.....I'm forming a new Evolution right here' would be very interesting.
  3. Kennedy was a decent heel promo, and he had enough charisma that the crowd was willing to buy into him as a babyface the two times they tried it. Seemed to be at least carryable and not out of place against top guys. He was actually a lot better when he didn't have a stable finisher to base his matches around - The Mic Check is really lame (see also: Dark Matter) and made him a lot harder to take seriously. He lost muscle mass also post-Eddy, and whilst that actually helped guys like Orton in terms of charisma, it hurt Kennedy's look a lot. To be fair, I wasn't that into him but there was something there.
  4. I said he should have been Bobby Jamaica godammit!
  5. Ok....yeah clarifies it a bit. I knew someone was saying it I just couldn't remember the context. I believe it was said that Taker came to respect Punk after the 1999 feud matches.
  6. I must admit, this is where I kind of get off the bus. In the 2011 match with HHH, he kicks out of two pedigrees in fairly quick succession and it's only a Jacknife by Kevin Nash and a third pedigree that puts Punk down. Yeah I don't know if HHH should have went over, but I think losing to ADR at HITC was worse for Punk than this.
  7. Say what you like about CM Punk, his tailoring game has come along way from his ROH Title reign and wearing a sports jacket with the tags still on it whilst doing RAW commentary.
  8. As much as HHH would love him to get the shit beaten out of him, a succesful career at UFC level for Brooks can only be good for WWE - same for Batista's movie career. My initial thought was: Ah CM Punk, you've got spirit.......I look forward to burying you in the traditional Highland way.
  9. Presumably he wasn't keen on garlic either? As a certified yoga-dance teacher, I have certainly come across people who eat Sattvic diets and I imagine this is a similar thing.
  10. Fuck it, I heard this out and about today - Gimme More is a really underrated record. All vestiges of the Britney from One More Time are gone, gone, gone but now, well it's Britney Bitch - and she'll go places 'Xtina' ain't going. You practically get a contact high just watching the video. This was the track before. Love this too. 2007 was poptastic:
  11. I kinda dig heel Lawler so I'm sure I'll enjoy it okay. There's a funny running bit in the 92/93 WWF stuff where Heenan claims to have came up with all of Backlund's moves. I think I'm going to call the bridging rollup 'The Heenan Cradle' from now on. For strange Dailymotion reasons, I can only access this in full screen - http://www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/x4hp4e?related=0 . Demento is ungood obviously, but Backlund's warm-up prematch is funny:
  12. I get a kick out of the UWF stuff because I actually bought into it and was thrilled to see Backlund in it. Takada rematch from 1991.
  13. NXT needs Battle Kat (with respect to Brady Boone),
  14. I was upset that I couldn't find Mr. Backlund destroying Man Mountain Rock's guitar. This resulted from Jarrett offering Barry Horowitz (who hadn't been elevated to JTTS status yet by Candido/Hakushi) a title match, and Backlund interrupting the contract signing. I include this because Backlund actually calls Diesel "Kevin Nash". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne-E4yX6lsk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgx_CkNcKuQ There's a proto-McGillycutter/Turning Heads neckbreaker from Backlund in this one that I quite like. I was a bit disappointed by Michael's sell of the atomic drop though.

  17. As a Brit (where sXe is much less of a thing, and even then only quite recently and I'm not sure CM Punk wasn't part of that), I do find this subculture bizarrely fascinating - and I just found out about hardliners like Vegan Reich. I've had friends into metal though, and I remember years ago telling one about CM Punk "He's straight-edge, and that means he's better than you.....".......let's just say Punk got heel heat.
  18. From my experience it is very realistic, except not in the amounts Punk is looking for. I always at least try to get it down via e-mail since that counts. There were times were payments came late, but I was always paid what was originally agreed upon. I always try to get the amount down in e-mail at least because that counts as a written record. An email is better than nothing, but there's probably something in the contract that says that terms can only be overridden by Vince or maybe a couple of other people - ultimately these things only 'count' if you're going to sue over it or, more likely, if you can convince the other side that you might.
  19. I understand your point, but from my experience of things it just doesn't seem that realistic to expect to get a written guarantee of something like that.. It would seem like you are being awkward and untrusting, which may well be justified but it still doesn't look good. What you're essentially talking about is contract change, so now that has to go through Compliance/Legal yaddayaddayadda - you can't just ask for that kind of thing, in my experience. Your mileage may differ.
  20. He didn't say he will work PWG, just that if he decided to wrestle again it wouldn't be about the money. I felt like he did admit that Jericho might well be right to state that he'll feel differently in 2-3 years, which was also, I thought, almost sort of kinda nearly a tiny olive branch to Jericho for Punk's previous, somewhat mean, comments. But I think he was indicating that a return to wrestling did not per se mean a return to WWE.
  21. Steph is okay but she just has this tendency to bury people for no good reason - the shit with Lana/Rusev was pretty egregious; especially given that they will be TV this Monday and she (likely) won't be.
  22. Yup. Go on LinkedIn and read the Pulse articles and you'll be able to speak like this in no time at all. Not that I'm recommending it.
