  1. For me, the really damning thing is that nobody had any plans for Mary Jane Watson before Bendis picked her up. You have a character who, historically, has been one of the most well written female characters in Marvel and no one in the Spider-Office can think of anything for her other than boinking a firefighter.
  2. You guys say that like its a bad thing. The 4 letter could use some retro programming, and a lot less talking heads. . . . New episodes of Trick Shot Magic.
  3. The finish to Big Show-Cesaro killed any enthusiasm I had for this show.
  4. I interviewed for an internship at ESPN back in 2002, all internships are shitty but this deal was ridiculous: you pay for all moving costs, $5000 stipend which you were expected to make last for all six months of the internship, 14-hour workdays cataloguing video, getting coffee, etc.
  5. http://thebiglead.com/2015/09/21/layoffs-are-coming-to-espn/ Massive layoffs coming to ESPN. 1-3PM Sportscenter being reduced to one hour, 3-6PM Sportscenter being abandoned.
  6. A mixture of poor drafting and flawed free agent signings (32 year old Frank Gore? Seriously?) resulting in "the window closing" on their era of dominance?

  8. I'd want to get hammered with post-Born Again Christian Rick Rude, to hear all the stories of wild partying and the deep regret he felt over it.
  9. If Chris Evans does sign up for a fourth Captain America film, please God let it be either "The Secret Empire" (complete with the President of the U.S blowing his brains out on-camera) or one of the Mark Waid/Ron Garney stories, prefereably "Man Without A Country" ('My God, The Football, he's inside The Football!').
  10. According to his obituary, Jack "Jimmy Olsen" Larson was the producer of the Michael J. Fox film Bright Lights, Big City and the John Travolta/Jamie Lee Curtis softcore porn without actual nudity fitness film Perfect.
  11. Is there ANY footage of Dusty & Nikita wrestling each other that exists? "The American Dream vs. The Russian Nightmare" seems like a ready-made feud, but I assume they were holding off on that until after the Magnum feud, but the car crash and face turn screwed all that up.
  12. How the FUCK did Mary Rylance not win for Wolf Hall?!!??!!?? Happy that Reg E. Cathey won Best Guest Actor in a Drama. Square One TV representing! You can also see some croneyism with the SNL 40th Anniversary Special winning "Best Special" instead of Louis C.K. Live at the Comedy Store.
  13. Ah, thanks, I don't usually watch Packers games. After watching a Browns game, I'm usually so pissed I just go home and curl into a fetal position.
  14. Did Aaron Rodgers just say "Orange Bozo?!??" Well, guess what's going to be the new "Omaha" meme tomorrow morning?
  15. In the TNA thread, Phantom Lord wrote: Now I remember back in 1997, right after Barely Legal, someone, I want to say Herb Kunze, in talking about the PPV and the perception that the ECW fans were better than other fans, sarcastically wrote that if the lights went out and when they came up, The Undertaker was in the ring, and The Undertaker proceeded to chokeslam and Tombstone the entire ECW roster as they ran in to attack him, the Arena Mutants would be marking out big time as 'Taker destroyed Sabu/Taz/Dreamer/Douglas/New Jack etc. And the guy who wrote that was proven absolutely correct two years later when Sid Viscious showed up for a couple of shows and chokeslammed and powerbombed the stars of ECW and the Mutants marked out hardcore for Big Sid. So I would be genuinely curious what the Full Sail fans reaction would be if Kane showed up on one show and proceeded to destory Finn Balor and Hideo Otami as they were having a match, than proceeded to manhandle the entire roster as they ran out to try to make the save.

  17. Hey, do you like to piss away money? Do you have an extra $1500 laying around that you'll never use? Because now you can own the actual jersey that Josh McCown wore this past Sunday when he got 'helicoptered' in New Jersey! http://www.fanatics.com/NFL_Cleveland_Browns/Josh_McCown_Cleveland_Browns_Fanatics_Authentic_Game-Used_Brown_Number_13_Jersey_from_September_13_2015_vs_the_New_York_Jets
  18. This is going to be me and about half of North East Ohio in about 32 hours from now.
  19. "Another sell-out crowd of over a thousand fans packed Michael's on 8th Avenue for the latest event produced by Maryland Championship Wrestling..." or "Buddy Landell and Doug Gilbert headline a spectacular all-star extravaganze as Dennis Coraluzzo brings you NWA New Jersey..."
  20. If Filip Bondy ever called for John Sterling and Susan Waldman to be fired, or if he ever took potshots at Michael "See Ya" Kay in his column, than I will take back everything I said about him and hope he gets rehired. OR If he was opposed to advertising on soccer uniforms, and used his column to try to convince FIFA to ban the practice, than I hope he gets rehired.
  21. http://www.newsweek.com/defeat-jason-whitlock-371758 Newsweek joins the "Jason Whitlock is a paranoid, narcissistic, borderline sociopathic asshole" parade with this profile from Sunday.
  22. She lost the weight, but can't attest to any work rate improvements. Still, good for her on the weight loss.
  23. I think at this point the only novel I'm looking forward to for this Fall is the new Cormoran Strike novel from J.K. Rowling. I haven't been too thrilled with the ghost-written Spenser novels so far, just more of the same status quo that Robert Parker had since Small Vices. At least when Lawrence Sanders died, the ghost writers for his "Archy McNally" series actually tried changing things up, introducing a new love interest for McNally and reducing the roles of some of the more tired supporting characters.
