  1. I don't think it's really debatable. They've pretty much done all they needed to do in a relatively short span of time. Anytime you can get ANY number of people to pay for Marquardt/Te Huna (happening at an ungodly hour too), that should be considered a victory. But they also satisfied (or at least quieted them down) the number of fans who were freaking out with the "why is ___________'s fight with __________ from five months ago not on Fight Pass?". Now they've moved on to get stuff they don't necessarily own (although they could buy Invicta with two twenties and a balled up five at this point) being added as content. People wanna watch Chael Sonnen and Andre Galvao grapple for some odd reason.
  2. Jordan Breen did a press row segment with Damon Martin last week that was spot on about Demetrious. After UFC 174, Martin did an interview with DJ where he actually showed a bit of verbal charisma and said he was definitively the best guy in the world. But when the post event presser rolled around and Damon asked the same questions, DJ went into the usual "well, I don't know about all that" and "I'm just here to fight" etc etc. At the end of the day, these guys aren't confrontational. It goes back to what I said on the board a couple months ago. Why can't these guys say that they're the best? I think what alarms fighters is what has happened with Jon Jones over the last two years. But the one caveat is Jones can at least have viable foils. DJ is facing guys that are hot off the presses. Anyone who isn't team Alpha Male is virtually unknown. And the Alpha Male fighters not named Urijah Faber don't have a bunch of cache with people that spend money. That's why Sean Shelby is banking on Scoggins and a couple other people to get some impressive performances under their belt.
  3. If the Hendo that fought Cormier fought Machida, we might have something more grisly than Belfort-Hendo II. He didn't even look okay by fake leg kick, right hand standards.
  4. Ariel Helwani ‏@arielhelwani 1m Tatsuya Kawajiri suffers detached retina, out indefinitely -- http://sbn.to/1ivWhqG
  5. Yeah, I don't think Gary Oldman will have trouble finding work.
  6. "some money" I think Dan coming back at perhaps a much reduced contract says a lot about his mindset. He probably believes he can string together two (or three) wins and get a title shot just because the lack of stars at the top. Then, he gets a title shot and can renegotiate his deal for more than or about the same as what he was making on his old deal. Realistically, he won't get past the first step. If he wanted to do "superfights" and managed to win, then I can see UFC feeling slightly compelled to give him more money and give him one last title shot. But going through legit ranked contenders? It ain't happening.

  8. A reboot of a reboot that happened four years ago.
  9. Dan Henderson is going back to 185 because really what else can you do.
  10. Sub-Zero MMA ‏@SubZeroMMA 23s Thomas Almeida has signed with the UFC. Well, that didn't take long.
  11. Woodley ain't getting cut unless the fight with Stun Gun is so bad and he loses somehow to the point where you can actually defend him getting let go. If Guillard had a semi entertaining fight with Michael Johnson in a losing effort, he would still have a spot in the UFC.
  12. Mikkelsen's case is also helped by the fact he already had more screen time than both guys combined in said movies in one episode of the show.
  13. I am probably the only one who likes Brian Cox more than Hopkins over the test of time. Maybe because Hopkins went more of the cartoony villain route and it's been beaten over the head through TV/everyday references, but it's definitely more refined than what Sir Anthony gave us. Silence of the Lambs is a superior movie just based off of Ted Levine's performance, but I just like Manhunter's Lecter better. Mads probably has the best incarnation out of all three.
  14. How did the UFC 175 main card end up with Russell Doane on the main card and this one gets Hioki/Do Bronx?

  16. I am all aboard for Donnie though. He was good in Ransom and I've seen Southie.
  17. I enjoy Denzel I enjoy Paula Patton nude (not so much her Robert Z'Dar-esque chin/jawline, the wooden acting, and the wardrobe of a 9th grade lesbian art teacher she wore in the movie) I enjoy Bill Paxton chewing scenery Sadly, I didn't enjoy this movie. I wanted to.
  18. You're clearly the demographic this movie was aimed at though. That's shooting fish in a barrel that's been bolted down to the floor.
