There is more than one revenue stream to determine competition. By that standard, there are a ton of competitors that rival Top Rank and Golden Boy.

RT @mookiealexander: Based on what I'm reading early, the filing indirectly lists Bellator as a "fringe competitor" What in the fuck?

Them's Fightin' Words 2014 Predictions Contest
Elsalvajeloco replied to Elsalvajeloco's topic in BOXING & MMA
Barring something miraculous, looks like grizzlyedwin won the predictions contest. He was the only one that got three. I would give him four, but Nick is fighting in 2015. BJ Penn calls retirement after the third Frankie Edgar fight. Someone will rematch Jose Aldo for the featherweight title. Gilbert Melendez will fight for the lightweight title. The Natural and FSW had two right. Zero had one and a possible, but I don't think there were eight heavyweight decisions. I also had one prediction right. So did epwar by the Nick Diaz "return" equation. -
Since evilclown isn't around, I guess the news later on today will have to suffice.

Not all that surprising but it looks like Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey have signed their individual deals with Reebok.

2014 UPCOMING MOVIES/CASTING/TERRIBLE PROJECTS...
Elsalvajeloco replied to RIPPA's topic in MOVIES & TV

It has to be more than Cung Le I would think. If it's just a couple of a UFC names and a bunch of Bellator guys, I dunno how well this goes for the plantiff side. How can you argue a monopoly when you're working for a company that essentially bought themselves back into the MMA landscape and surpassed a bunch of wannabe UFC competitors in mere months? Having a three or four big names from the UFC (retired or not) would work way better.

but, man, if any man is in dire need of an editor, it's Seth MacFarlane. I actually ended up greatly enjoying 'Ted' in spite of what I thought were rather middling-looking previews, so was according this one the same "Eh, it has to be better than the previews". It was not. For one, why is it almost two hours long?! The whole central plot of Seth MacFarlane vs. Neil Patrick Harris is completely pointless, takes up almost 70 minutes, then is thrown away in a two minute showdown. It's one of the biggest "I have a bunch of jokes to do and I'm going to cram them in here so let's extend this meaningless plot" then gives way to the EXACT SAME PLOT with MacFarlane and another character. For two, it read like it was written by third-graders. Once again, I liked Ted but this one was just chock full of diarrhea, semen, urine. It seems like after the success of 'Ted', MacFarlane was given free reign to do whatever he wanted. This was really, really bad. We're going to do The Shakiest Gun in the West, but like....with absolutely no subtlety and Sarah Silverman and Giovanni Ribisi doing hamfisted sexual humor.

No, lets stretch all this out between one hour to seventy-five minutes of screentime. I am one of the four people in the western world who does not know the origin of this Spiderperson and Peter Preston.

Greg Savage @TheSavageTruth 5m Word from @BellatorMMA is that they have released Magomedrasul "Frodo" Khasbulaev from his contract. Quote from @ScottCoker coming.
-
Cris Cyborg isn't going to try to go to Bantamweight anymore. I guess she'll fight the one or two bouts left on her Invicta deal and go to Bellator. She is still on the catchweight thing, which she should just absolutely forget.

For some reason, UFC.com lists the Sarafian vs. Dos Santos Jr. fight twice instead of Carneiro vs. Niinimäki . So I don't know which one is on the main card and which one is on the FS1 prelims. If there is anyone you want to see twice in one night, it's the ole boy Daniel Sarafian.
