  1. Roy Jones Jr. needs an intervention
  2. The PPV is trending between 500k-600k+. Apparently, losing the Weidman fight didn't hurt that bad.
  3. I just got around to watching season two, and boy I am so sad about this. *burp* "I am full of myself!" I got through everything except that. That one made me legitimately queasy.
  4. There are probably 1 or 2 people in-house (even if they weren't vetted by Watson himself) or from past organizations that would love that spot. If they are actually good at it or can deal with egos and personalities is a whole different issue.
  5. Also, can you point to where Munoz said there was an incident during re-weigh? On his Twitter, he said he doesn't know what everyone is talking about.
  6. Am I telling you that? Might want to check that again. All I'm saying is that pride can get the best of anyone. I'm sure it's not the first words he's had with anyone but it very well could be the first incident where something happened where Dana sided with a fighter over him. That's actually a pretty normal occurrence. If you had an incident with someone at work and felt justified only to have your boss side with the other person, that might indeed prompt you to start looking for other work. A calm, logical person might dismiss it or start looking at other options. An illogical person might quit on the spot. And FWIW it doesn't sound like the first story was wrong by the sources since Munoz confirmed there was an incident with Watson but it was unrelated to the other incident which was apparently the catalyst. I am not saying you specifically as I am talking about FRB (and those people blindly putting his stuff out there on their websites) and get your point. However, that's the reason I am bringing up the UFC 180 thing. Pride also goes the other way meaning I can see this guy soldiering easily through bullshit like that. Ronda ain't the first or only person Dana has been infatuated with. Lorenzo, Dana, and the other guys have their favorites (Hence, Dana's "Conor Fertitta" line this past weekend at that presser). So I really can't call Burt Watson illogical or shit on Ronda's camp if the real story isn't actually out there. Maybe he had a few bad things go down over a series of events and decided that doing all this travel and taking all that stress on at his age isn't the smartest thing to do. Personally, I just find that way more plausible than one event being what ended a long tenure. That's underestimating some of the shitty places they've ran and how hard his job is.
  7. "Sapo" Natal vs. Uriah Hall has been added to the UFC 187 card
  8. You're telling me that in the fourteen years he worked there (since UFC 30 mind you), last week was his first real run-in with someone of significance? As a result, he quit. Ok, sure. Come on now. The dude basically got knocked out backstage at a UFC event in November and worked the event anyway like the shit didn't happen. It sounds like whatever happened is gonna stay between Watson and the UFC so I guess people can only speculate. However, it's hard to believe something when someone's "sources" basically got the first version wrong and then switched it to something else entirely. Yeah, I will wait until someone credible actually says what happened.
  9. Not that it has stopped anyone before, but probably because there hasn't been a ton of concrete info. First, it was something related to Mark Munoz coming back from his weight cut. Then, it wasn't. Okay then.Breen had a crazy story about a pipe falling on his head in Mexico City. I think whatever happened is probably a culmination of stuff. The guy basically went to EVERY event. People like that aren't gonna quit over just one argument.
  10. http://www.newsday.com/sports/mixed-martial-arts/bellator-s-complaint-against-quinton-rampage-jackson-details-bonus-payments-1.10011508 This is....yeah.
  11. UFC's official Twitter account has confirmed a show in Melbourne for 11/15 (11/14 in North America) today. As far as the numbering goes, it is slated to be UFC 193. Also the latest round of cuts: Brian Bowles, Stanislav Nedkov, Andy Ogle, Juan Manuel Puig, Tim Gorman, Humberto "Doo Doo" Brown, and Rodolfo Rubio Gonna miss "Stanky" Stan Nedkov
  12. MMAjunkie ‏@MMAjunkie 1m1 minute ago Bellator middleweight champ Brandon Halsey meets Kendall Grove at Bellator 137 on May 15 http://dlvr.it/8q3wnx via @MMAjunkie
  13. Sub-Zero MMA ‏@SubZeroMMA 58s Shawn Jordan vs. Derrick Lewis, Alan Jouban vs. Brian Ebersole set for UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans on June 6.
  14. Mousasi will fight Costas Philippou on the Manila card.
  15. You can do it that way with a short turnaround, but they just won't be...you know...good.
  16. If Cris can actually manage to get down to 135, there is no way I would have that fight in Invicta. I dunno what's going with this Lorenzo thing, but it sounds like she has that July obligation anyway. If you know you can only book so many title fights and this last PPV does better than expected, why not do Rousey vs. a live body as a main and Cyborg vs. a live body as a co-main in the fall? It would suck for people looking for competitive fights, but it makes so much sense from a business standpoint. TBH Cyborg vs. Tate makes so much sense as a co-main.
  17. Looks like there will be only be one Mayweather vs. Pacquiao presser before fight week (which will obviously have one) and it will be on 3/11. However, it's closed to public.
  18. It would be Zingano vs. McMann and Holm vs. Tate to keep it W vs. W and L vs. L. Seeing how Reneau is getting on a roll, they may match her with the winner of the trilogy no one wanted (Kaufman vs. Davis III) or the winner of Carmouche vs. Murphy. I can also see them doing Reneau vs. Holm since Tate might be too much too soon for someone like Holm. Plus, that's a way more entertaining style matchup than a rough and rugged Pennington. Pena might be in that mix as well. Basically, all this is going to end up deciding who WILL get sacrificed to Rousey and who POTENTIALLY could get sacrificed to young Cris Justino. Or Julie Kedzie could be dirty and book the Aldana/Evinger winner (if that gets made) against Cyborg for her 135 pound debut in Invicta. However, Aldana maybe in the UFC by then.
  19. Ronda got a co-starring role alongside Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption, The Raid 2: Berandal) in a movie called Mile 22, which is being produced by Peter Berg. Principal photography starts mid-May. God, they have to get Gareth Evans to direct it.
  20. I believe it was 145 on 7/10 and then HOPEFULLY a bantamweight fight in the fall. That would put a Rousey fight at the beginning of next year at the earliest.
  21. Josh Gross ‏@yay_yee 32m32 minutes ago No surprise here. Bellator MMA went to court today in N.J. to stop Quinton "Rampage" Jackson from fighting for UFC on April 25. Josh Gross ‏@yay_yee 30m30 minutes ago Bellator is seeking an injunction. They claim an exclusive 6-fight deal with Rampage, and say he owes them three more.
  22. Ariel Helwani ‏@arielhelwani 18m RT @SaintMMA: Dana tells @arielhelwani that Brock did ask him, 'Did Frank Mir really say he wants to fight me?
  23. I dunno. Maybe there might be something to that, but she doesn't look that big leading up to the fight. I don't think she is killing herself to make 145 with George Lockhart in her camp now (worked w/ Jon Jones, Rory, and other top fighters), but she is brolic come fight night.
  24. That kinda depends if Cris understood the questions about that. She said she was 165-170, but I am not sure if she meant that is her current walk around weight or what she weighed against Tweet. I will say this: She looked like she was the size of a Hanna Gabriel or any other woman who fights that is legit big like that. I mean girls like that play basketball have weight to them, but they ain't built like that. Zingano is yoked but she doesn't have that type body on fight night.
