  1. Looks like a Playstation 2
  2. Will be interesting to see what Shida can do with Anna Jay. Could be good, could have more whiffs than a Nolan Ryan classic. Bucks vs. Hardys will be a spotfest with two guys who can't really hit many spots anymore. BCC vs. Lucha Brothers will piss me off. Could not care less about Jack Perry and the ECW revival.
  3. True, but when I went to the Austin taping in May (right after things changed), there was a good 15-20% of the crowd there at 6 pm hoping they were still doing an hour of dark matches, and pretty disappointed and restless that we didn't get anything until 6:40.
  4. It was on the Gulf Coast several million years ago
  5. the state of Arkansas begs to differ!
  6. Given that most indies run on weekends and the amount of talent who are on call for the Collision live show and ROH tapings on Saturdays, that likely further limits their ability to work indy shows. I did see an ad for a show in north Jersey that had a dozen or so AEW wrestlers advertised, including the Acclaimed.
  7. I thought there was a resemblance but didn't pay close enough attention. Given the recent directives, I was sure the kid in the audience was a plant.
  8. I'm not getting cable at my new place, so I basically either pay for a internet TV setup to watch AEW (my laptop is a work computer so I don't have VPN options) or just stop watching. Since Max has a lot of my wife's favorite Discovery shows now I would pay a little more for access to AEW that way.
  9. Wait, now I DEMAND this!
  10. They stopped them AFAIK, think they decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Especially with live Saturday show now. There are usually 3-4 womens matches on ROH, and many of the recent TV shows have had a womens match as a pre-show dark match. ROH and the YouTube shows are, to me, evidence that the 1 womens match per TV show is a network thing and not a Tony K thing, but its just speculation and I know he isn't as active booking those shows.
  11. he wears his heart on his sleeve, and sometimes that can actually be off-putting (but not to me).
  12. I'm a huge fan of early Depeche Mode and pretty much anything Vince Clarke has done but the synth riff on Enola Gay is maybe the single filthiest in all of synth pop (we are not including Kraftwerk in this genre, for the record).
  13. I barely go outside, but my co-workers in the field start their on-the-ground work as close to dawn as they can safely see (usually driving before dawn) and stop by 1 pm or when the heat index is 110, whichever comes first. The slow, steady climb of heat combined with the climate weirding of the severe winter storms is one of the main reasons I’m moving north. This state isn’t going to do anything that goes against the almighty oil and gas industry nor will they ever give up their “sovereignty” and connect to one of the national grids. There’s also the fact that the SW, including much of Texas, is drying up.
  14. I’d like him to win a real belt. Let him run with the TV title.
  15. FTR match was fun because it was very different with them against two huge dudes. They gave a ton and barely got the win. I didn’t hate Cage in this match, wrestling like a strong dude who can also do a nice dropkick and then let him have one big spot could work. Big Bill has top heel potential. Who called FTR-Bucks at Wembley? Samoa Joe killing Serpentico in 10 seconds works I guess. Trying to figure out what the stipulation for Joe-Punk at Wembley will be. HOB gave way more to the thrown together little guys than they did The Acclaimed. Too much IMO. I guess Shotty got some home area rub from that, too bad they sent his fiancé to the back. Mercedes carried that women’s match, took a while to get there but good match and the ending was a setup for a good tag match. Stat still working off rust? Jay White-Metalik was a nothing match focused on all the ringside nonsense and stooging. I thought the main was great. Punk has really done a ton to help cement Starks at superstar level. Most of the match was old school, could easily have fit in the early ‘90s. Punches, kicks, arm drags, avoiding opponents finisher, stealing taunts, stalling outside, biggest move was the superplex. Should have expected the finish would be a schmozz, but the way it led to Starks massive full heel turn ruled. Whipping Steamboat with a belt like Flair would do. Good stuff, let’s see where they go next! Toni Storm interview was weird. Acclaimed sit down was well done and emotional. Juice Robinson is channeling every obnoxious Jack Black character x 100.
  16. We are going on 28 straight days in Austin over 100 Fahrenheit, most of which have been in the 103-106 range with heat indices closer to 110. It’s usually about 10 pm when the heat index drops below 100. At night, it’s not really getting below 80. I’m pretty much broken now. I have so little energy and initiative, yet I have to pack our house to move at the end of the month, and take care of all the things associated with that.
  17. Supposedly the LHN was a no go for a PAC-12 move, in part because it was an ESPN property. Plus I don’t know that they really wanted Tech and especially not Baylor, but definitely wanted OU.
  18. It gets so overlooked in the discussion of “Prestige TV” but Rez Dogs truly is one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
  19. Pretty sure I called almost all this happening at the start of the week. But today was WILD!
  20. That was just a great hour of professional wrestling TV. Hardyz hitting their greatest hits, Keith Lee bealing fools into fools. Fun times. The post-match with the Bucks was almost too clever but (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) I’m actually interested in that match. Skye and Anna had a very solid, straightforward wrestling match. A bit surprised at the result, but guess it came with some fuckery. Fox wearing the “bloodstained” shirt was a nice touch. This team has potential. Stat’s promo was so weird and awesome, kind of like her. Main event was glorious pro wrestling violence. Mox just starting out going full Abdullah on Trent, Claudio tearing the spoiler of the car, lots of car smashy spots. I kept thinking Danhausen was going to pop out, but instead it was Yuta going full on psycho. OC coming in and getting beat down, Judy’s terror, the destruction of the minivan. Just a top notch brawl and I don’t think this feud is close to over.
  21. He had multiple mark out moments during those wild Hijo del Vikingo and Komander spots, it was awesome.
  22. It was at the Austin show (pretty sure I read that Abadon trains under Dustin) and it was pretty short but fun. Good comedy spots with Abadon and Emi, and with Skye and Willow being a little afraid of her too.
  23. FSU trustee is calling for an exit plan in the next 12 months! The ACC Grant of RIghts isn't set to expire until 2036. Clemson and Notre Dame watching very closely. North Carolina and maybe UVA sliding into B1G's DMs.
  24. After Yahoo Sports floating rumors that B1G is doing diligence on bringing in Oregon, Washington, and maybe Stanford and Cal, we now get FSU Trustee meeting basically saying "we are carrying the ACC and don't want to leave but need to have it be worth our while to stay"
