AEW Youtube Nonsense (Dark/Elevation, vlogs, etc.)
JLowe replied to NikoBaltimore's topic in ALL ELITE WRESTLING
One of the best things from Elevation was when Colten hit a move and then yelled “Who’s the Ass Boy now” and the crowd yelled back “YOU!”. -
I’m still working on my morning coffee, sorry. I forgot that he can do that standing moonsault. But I was watching a PPV from a couple of years ago when Stunt was still with them and they were still A Boy and his Dinosaur (and a small boy) and Luchasaurus seemed to move better and do more then than he does now.
-
Sure but either one of them is already better than Limitedsaurus.
-
Oh yeah, I immediately was like WTF, that was cold.

AEW is on such a roll. Incredibly strong card and with the exception of Wardlow-Caster (poor Max) each one has a clear storyline of some sort setting it up.

Two fantastic tag team matches tonight. Wrong team went over in the main in my opinion, but I know I’m in the minority of AEW fandom at large in disliking JE. Gunn Club looked so damn good. Shocking women’s match, Robyn Renegade got more in tonight than in all of her Dark appearances I’ve seen combined, and looked mostly like she belonged. Funny what a difference a seasoned opponent can make... I’m sure people are already tired of my hot takes on Hook. At least he’s beating up and no-selling no names. Thing is, wrestling eventually means making your opponent look good. Also, his one throw was dangerous. The Danielson backstage advanced his angle with Mox, put Mox over, and built up Moriarty. Really looking forward to that match. Speaking of looking forward, they’ve got another very strong week already set up for next week!

Elevation was great, every match was very good and competitive. And as others mentioned Wight and Henry were really on, doing both good color and being funny as hell. -

I’m catching up on the YouTube shows and all I know so far is that I want a Skye Blue-Diamanté feud. And a Skye Blue-Bunny feud. -
Takes two to tango and Jade had two left feet as well.

The fear is because they're unpredictable and will do weird things like try and bite your fingers off. That said, I agree that there are too many dark gimmicks and they can come off as corny, but I know I'm in the minority there. They don't need to say that Abadon is undead, they need to just say that she THINKS she's undead and that makes her dangerous. Malakai Black doesn't need to be some black arts dude, he can be an ass-kicker who will also spit black shit in your eyes to win. -
I was getting Vader vibes from Lee.
-
I saw that was what he was doing but assumed that they don't do those kind of things so much these days outside of the real hardcore death match places.
-
Was it JR who said Keith Lee was like a young Mark Henry? Other Hoss fights include Lee vs. Hobbs (really want to see this) and Lee vs. Bears Bronson and Boulder.
-
The original WOW had a character named Slam Dunk but I don't remember if she had any basketball themed moves.
-
Isn't that the spot where they've been having Kip Sabian and his boxhead sit for the Dark and Elevation tapings? Maybe he's just an arena employee who would rather be home?
-
I have something to look forward to then! I was taping the NJPW shows a few years ago so Omega and the Bucks (and Rocky Romero) are familiar but I eventually stopped keeping up.
-
I want to see a Keith Lee and Dante Martin tag team where half of their moves are just Keith Lee yeeting Dante. Corner to corner senton. Press Dante into a shooting star press. Yeet Dante 12 feet into the air and 12 feet outside the ring onto the opponents. Like a more ridiculous, successful Chaos Project.

First 15 minutes made me think I was watching Raw, please don’t do that again for a long time. In general, the first 30-40 minutes was a challenge. Wardlow’s overhead belly-to-belly supley (said in Solie voice) were Steineresque. More impressive than the power bombs IMO. I don’t know who Jay White is but I guess he’s Bullet Club but also Kenny’s enemy? I’ve never actually seen Keith Lee wrestle and holy hell how did WWE mess that up? Good lord. Also credit to Kassidy for bumping like a fiend. I legit thought Lee was going to try and catch both Lee and Quen at the same time. I want to see Keith Lee squashing fools. I want to see Keith Lee beat Hook. FTR are my favorites and I don’t think they lost any heat losing THAT match versus Punk and Mox. So much going on. Did I mark out for Tully taking the GTS. Hell yes. Did I mark out more for the Doomsday Device? Actually it was close. No idea who AQA is but surprised she got as much as she did, and nice shooting star press. Not sure why they would expose their secondary women’s champion so openly on TV like that. The Deeb challenge is good, it’s going to take time for it to get legs and tonight it was lost on the crowd (and basically served as a cooler). Page hit a gusher, he had more color in 5 seconds than Archer had all match. Lots of violence, taking down the top rope to stop the Buckshot was clever and well sold by the announcers. Did I mark out for Jake the Snake? Yes, yes I did. They really need to chill on these ring steps spots, too unpredictable. Incredible finish with the ref slingshot out of nowhere. And I was all skeptical about the barbed wire until I saw Archer’s back and Page’s arm post-match. Problems included that shithead in the front row (taking away from a generally hot crowd), some pacing of matches and the show itself, and timing of commercials and spots. Still, two PPV level matches for free, again.

He had like 100 of them and some head cutouts and was all about getting himself over, it was getting to the point that he was even pissing off the people around him who may have actually been his friends.
-
As you know, Wichita Falls is halfway (sort of) between Amarillo/West Texas State area and the Dallas Sportatorium. No wonder he’s a hoss that’s also athletic.
-
AEW security needed to yank him after the first hour, given him his $200 back, and given the seat to someone who wanted to enjoy the show rather than get themselves over on their internet board. Frequently detracted from the action.

What has Kyler Murray ever done to merit diva treatment by the Cardinals? Him and Kliff are at their ceiling already.

The only two I even know of the most common names (not the moonshots) being bandied about are Keith Lee and Johnny Gargano. I know Keith Lee because he wrestled Texas indies and some of my friends would post about him. I saw Gargano on NXT once or twice I think. Lee would be interesting to me. Gargano would feel like yet another one of those somewhat generic NXT guys. It is interesting to me that there is a wide range of opinions about the rankings of the most common options.

That’s why I didn’t say Sugar Ray as I actually like them.
