I was thinking about what defines a star in wrestling, and man there’s been a lot of chatter about “jobber stink” or “TNA stink” or whatever with some of the guys AEW has signed, yet there’s absolutely zero of that with Jericho and Moxley. If anything, this run has opened my eyes to Jericho even more as to just how fucking good he is and he’s entered a higher tranche of all top great. Mox has cemented his place as a tippy tippy guy with an incredibly unique aura and style. Both have been just massive home runs.

AEW vs. Capcom would be dope. Take the Vs. game mechanics, but put it in the Slam Masters style (specifically having the additional plane of movement). Almost like Power Stone with tags.

Is it wrong that I'm already laughing my ass off about Santana, Ortiz and Jericho stooging for Sue Beretta.

I mean I know the dude was legitimately a punter, but I can’t believe they let someone else do a punt when it’s their top heel’s MDK super finish

God that main event was incredible. They beat the absolute dog shit out of each other.

Not sure if anyone else feels the same but I also struggle with AEW’s sound mixing with themes during the show. If I’m wearing headphones it sounds good enough, but on my TV the themes are barely audible. Could be a “me” problem, but I don’t have that with other shows.

I'd just scrap it and find a new way to debut a faction unless they are positioning these jabronies at the same level as the ninjas. Destructive hijinks while yelling "YEAH DUUUDE! HAHA!" is sub-Simon Dean-rides-a-Segway levels of Zero Fucking Chance of getting over.

And with Underground I can easily see the pitch. “Hey, if the rest of the world is doing these bombastic cinematic matches during all this, let’s take a left turn and go with something grimey and realistic” is certainly a pitch I can see Shane making and it isn’t a bad concept. As others have mentioned, having a pocket setting inside of the show opens up some interesting storytelling ideas. Its just so damn overproduced. Everything is, same old story. I can easily see Shane and whoever else come up with this saying NO NOT LIKE THAT after seeing how their creation was filmed.

New faction is dead in the water already. When Nexus and Shield debuted, they went right after top guys. Because of course that’s how you book the system-is-rugged young angry heel group. Throwing cocktails and turning over storage containers? These guys are jobbers right out of the box.

Samoa Joe can fall out of bed and cut the best promo in the company. Dug the Hurt Business like I said. Lashley unbuttoning his suit to go beat up some geeks in a fight club because he’s pissed at how his night’s gone is actually the closest thing to Good Lashley Booking WWE has done I think. Like that’s who that dude is. That’s all I got.

I do really like the Hurt Business. Love the name, the look and MVP is on the best run of his career (which is incredible given the Rumble was supposed to be a one off). Dominick looks like WALTER but sounds exactly like his old man. It’s terrifying. As for Raw Underground, it was seinfeld_im_out.gif for me at about 9:56pm when we got the first set of Dunn Cuts.

All I am saying is if we are doing a worked Kumite, Gable as Frank Dux is my guy.

I mean on one hand though, we were just talking about pushing Chad Gable and a shoot style tourney is certainly one avenue to achieve that.

Been watching a lot of Disney+ with the kids in the past week, and man if Zootopia isn’t the sleeper great animated Disney flick of the 10’s. Tight writing, excellent voice work and some fantastic little animation touches. Plus ‘Try Everything’ slaps.

He’s already worth 12 WAR, though a curious decision to start his service time clock during this season. And speaking of this season, I think I’ve figured out why I - an otherwise superfan baseball junkie - just don’t care. The kayfabe macro story of every baseball season for over 100 years has been “all of these teams are trying to win the World Series”. The kayfabe storyline this season isn’t that, it’s “can they finish the season, and should they be playing at all”. It’s THAT they are playing, not how they are playing or what they are playing for. And because of that fact, the actual events within the games themselves are meaningless. I don’t care. In kayfabe, everything is made up and the points don’t matter.
